What an awesome place. Try to stop by usually every month on way back home and it's always changing, since they have so many different vendors in there. I have been going there for over 5 years I saw a review saying they are raciest and that is an absolute not true and it's old ladies that own it when it's a husband and wife. Never had an issue as my children, brother, sister and other family members are of different races and nationality and yes I am of color. I know everyone has their opinions. Seems like a neat enough place but unfortunately we were told the closest bathroom was a quarter mile down the road at the visitors center. With my wife being 32 weeks pregnant, we didn't have a choice but to leave. Seems odd that an antique store meant for browsing didn't have an open bathroom for people to use. I could easily have shopped here for a few hours and was even close to making a sale but unfortunately we had to put down what we wanted to buy and will not be returning any time soon as it is a far drive for us. read more

I drive past this business about once a month and I finally decided to stop in and see what it was about. Outside its easily recognized by the large dinosaur and statue of Elvis. There are many outside items for sale and not for sale that line the parking lot and building. Inside the building was really nice. We were greeted and were immediately attracted to several items near the entrance. The store was organized and clean. Everything on display was spot free and staged for viewing. Items seemed to range from the vintage Christmas decor to old furniture. So many items on display for purchase I was surprised because the building does not look that big from the outside. Two floors to see, it was nice to have plenty of time to see everything. I guarantee that you will see something that will remind you of your grandparents or great grandparents. I saw some things from my childhood that I totally forgot about. I could of easily spent a ton of money there but I wasn't in the mood to impulse shop. What are you lookin for,, vintage egg cartons, toys, kitchen utensils, decor, music, signs, and so much more. Definitely a step into the past. The ladies we spoke to were really nice. They didn't follow us around but may have watched us on the security system which doesn't bother me. Im used to cameras in todays world. The short conversations we had were welcoming. One of them told us that there is over 50 vendors that have things for sale in the store which was interesting to me. They all have their part in keeping the place organized and clean. If you are in the area and have some free time you need to check this out, It will at least spark some memories of the good ol days. read more

I saw the billboard in Virginia--14 miles away and wondered if it was literally worth the trek to Maryland since there ended up being a hefty return toll. Virginia apparently doesn't charge you to go to MD but MD charges you to go back to VA. I think it was $6. Anyhow, the antiques shop is okay. When I first arrived, I felt like I was being watched by the two old ladies who worked there. I'm pretty sure they were even following me around the store. Once I was in a room filled with clocks and one of them came in to wind them. Seems like something you'd do at opening or closing but not in the middle of the day. I found two pieces of interest. One was too expensive and just a little off. The other I ended up getting with a nice discount. After making that purchase decision, the ladies were as nice as they could be and even helped me load my item in the truck even though I felt much more capable of doing so. Doubtful I'd return, but I'm glad I made the trip. read more

I was on the hunt for a massive antique shop seeking decor for my new business. I thought I hit a gold mine but service is terrible. Upon entry, the cashier YELLED out the closing time to me, that was my "greeting". Then, you are followed as if you are a thief. The vibe is unwelcoming and just plain mean so I left. Glory Days huh? This is a fun shop with two buildings to look through. Some harder-to-find items are available for the right buyer, but there's nothing really older than 1920-1930. Definitely worth checking out a few times a year. Prices seemed mostly reasonable for current market values. read more

I LOVE Glory Days! Even though I live out of the area, I have no problem making the trek from Southeast DC to spend an afternoon browsing through countless nostalgia-inducing displays. They have a great selection of stuff in generally excellent condition for how old some of it is, and prices are very fair.
