The food and the experience was amazing ! Came down here to celebrate my grandson's birthday. 10/10

We stopped by to check out what this restaurant had to offer and were pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. We dined with our children. While there isn't a dedicated kids' menu, our little ones enjoy Caribbean (Haitian) cuisine, so it worked out perfectly. I had the griot with black rice, and my husband went with the fried goat. Both dishes were generously portioned and flavorful enough to share with the kids. The space is stroller-friendly and handicap accessible, with a lounge-like setup and music playing in the background. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! read more

We don't have a lot of sit down Haitian restaurants in LI so when we found out about this place we just had to give it a try. It's a very charming restaurant with a lot of traditional decor which was nice to see. Food was sooooo tasty! I went with a group of 6 so we ordered a lot of the items off of the menu and everything was a hit. Drinks were strong and tasty! We came last night and it was very empty for a Friday night, and the owner told us they didn't have any usual events planned for the weekend due to the holiday which was the cause for the slow down. They usually either have a live band or a DJ on the weekends and hear that it gets pretty lively into the evening. We will definitely make our way back for that read more

I wanted to like this restaurant. There are so few places to get Haitian food and entertainment They advertised Lady Laura Music for the Soul Band from 8 p.m. to 11p.m. with a $10 cover. I checked their social media for updates and the menu. I live far from Lynbrook, so I wanted to be sure. When my friends and I arrived we were told. they pushed everything back to accomodate a wedding part earlier. We could come in a watch a comedy show with a $50 cover. This was at 7:50. We were hungry and expecting music. Totally unacceptable. Things happen, but why didn't they post the changes? Confused people were milling around on the sidewalk. We won't be back. read more

Has plenty of performer space. Depending on the weekend music. I am sure it would be a great place to hang out with your friends too.

Visited for the first time during their First Fusion Friday night. Entry staff and security were extremely nice. Spot is cozy. Had the banging shrimp and honey BBQ wings were very tasty. Would not recommend the crab cakes! Enjoyed their Hennessy margarita. But got same drink from 2 different bartenders in different cups. Consistency even with those little things would be nice. Met the "boss" who was very nice and accommodating. They're conveniently located on Sunrise where there's available parking (meters during applicable hours) and I was told there's parking in back. (Didnt look for their parking but from what I could see, there's no back entrance so you'd have to walk around from the back.) Would visit again on a different night to compare the experiences. read more

I was really looking forward to celebrating, our beloved Marie Carmel Avin ! The service at Oulala Café & Lounge service was a complete letdown! It's frustrating when our own Haitian spots don't meet our expectations." wish they'd step up their game - we deserve better.! Unfortunately, this experience has led me to decide that I won't be visiting this place again! My usual choices were booked, leading me to explore other possibilities, which led me to this place! To provide specific feedback, we observed the following issues: no tables or chairs, no coffee, extremely limited soup, and cold patties. Given the $30 per person cost, we expected a much higher level of service and quality! Thank you We've always been satisfied with your services and appreciate the professionalism you bring to every event. On December 28 2025, I came to the restaurant with my family expecting to get a good meal. The cups were absolutely filthy. There was stains in the cups and red stuff all over it, I had to get a new cup. I ordered food and it came after 2 hours after I ordered. Also I had to pay 600 dollars for the small portion of food even though it was 11 people it couldve at least been 200 at most and our waiter was very impatient and kept being nosy. This place is Genuinely awful would not recommend, im never coming back to this restaurant. If you plan on coming here stay home. read more

The ambiance and restaurant itself is nice. The food however is not great. The menu is very small and way overpriced for the portions . Something's were not even available. "Crab cakeS" appetizer is $16 and it is one crab cake that taste like it's cut with tuna. The drink I ordered was made with flat sprite , and the pasta was a very small portion, with grilled chicken that looked and tasted like something out of a frozen section bag . They're all extremely rude responding to google Reviews instead of making changes . Can't recommend. read more

I'm glad my friend suggested this place. It's a real chill spot. A bit small in terms of limited seating, but that's probably due to the performance area. It gets packed after a certain hour, so if you're still cautious in the days of COVID, then yeah think before you go. Anyway, we arrived around 7:45/8pm. There were only a few tables being served at the time. We opted to sit at the bar as there were tables already reserved and other available seating for 2 wasn't to our preference. We were greeted by the bartender/waitress who made us each a French Martini (recommended) and placed our dinner order which was Irie Pasta. I got mine with chicken, my friend's salmon. Both food and drink was good. Very flavorful and nicely presented. However, the food service is slow. It took a while for the food to be brought out. I noticed that with every table. Perhaps they are short staffed and if that is the case then understandable. But we literally placed our order upon seating as we knew what we wanted beforehand. Conversation and observation kept us occupied, but if the words 'where is the food' crosses my mind during that, it's taking too long, sorry lol. Also, they are pretty pricey in my opinion. Two drinks, two entrees, two desserts = $100 rounded off. All I'm saying is I've paid less for very similar meals elsewhere. But ok. The live entertainment on a Friday night starts late. We left at 10:45pm and the band had not yet started. Ummm, so what we doing waiting to midnight? That'll be a no for this homebody lol. So unfortunately I can't speak to the Friday's Jazz Night because we left before they began. But it most be great because what was few turned into many. Overall, it is a nice spot and do recommend it. Oulala is a nice date night, dinner/brunch with friends, etc cafe/lounge. I will consider visiting again in the future. read more

Quaint place for listening to music. The food is a NO for me. I usually don't like to give bad reviews but I was VERY disappointed. I made reservations for my group of 12+ & someone from the establishment did call to confirm that I was still coming on the date provided. They was short-staffed, food arrived cold, late for some patrons in my group. The manager in charge did his best to accommodate & make up for the shortcomings. Some food was ill-prepared, like the baked lobster Mac & cheese. It was just Mac & cheese with a small piece of lobster on the side of the plate, no lobster in the MAC & cheese. Pictured are the "veggie tacos" but the only thing in the taco was lettuce & tomatoes with shredded cheese on top, very disappointing. I will NOT be returning to this establishment. The live band (Musically Inclined) was a hit! read more

I came to celebrate my friends birthday and they're charging $20 for a cover charge because we didn't reserve in advance which is nonsense because no one answered the phone when we did they to make the reservation. All the tables have a reserved sign on the table, so I tried to take a stool to sit at the bar and the worker literally snatched it out my hand and told me no chairs at the ball. We then sat at a table with no reserve sign and were forced to sit at a table with a reserved for bottle service sign as a way to hustle us to buy a bottle. I have never visited an establishment this poorly managed. I definitely will not be eating or drinking anything. I hope that cover charge stretches because I will never spend a half a penny in here ever again. 1 star only because I have to...its really 0 stars read more

We went with our friends for the jazz band which was amazing. After the band was done the DJ came on and blasted the music so loud half the tables walked out and the place wasn't even half full to begin with. It was so loud we couldn't even have a conversation with one another. We went outside to chat and figure out where we were going next so we can talk and chat and the nice owner came out and invited us back in. After we explained the issue and showed her people didn't go home. They just couldn't handle the obnoxious unnecessary loud music and just were hanging outside and she was losing money all the money they could have been spending inside. She asked us to go back in. We decided to give the place another chance. The DJ was a complete a**hole and played the music louder. Our ears were still ringing next day. Would never recommend this place again but i wish i can find the jazz band again read more

I've actually been here a few times and have always enjoyed myself, however, this most recent visit wasn't as pleasant. It seems that they curate a specific menu for each day of the week. So since we were there on a Tuesday it was 'Taco Tuesday' and they were only serving tacos and the appetizers listed on the menu. When we asked for a rum punch, we were told that since it's not on the menu they won't be making it today. I found that to be weird because it's a full bar so all the waiter needed to do was make the rum punch, but because it was not on the taco Tuesday menu it's not a an option. When we spoke to the manager, we asked why they do not serve Haitian food there and she said it's only on certain days and they aren't marketing as a Haitian restaurant it's an international restaurant. That kinda turned me off. But anyway the people I was with ordered the appetizer sampler with griot, akra and banan. The akra wasn't properly seasoned but the griot and banan were okay. No one was really there the night we went and the DJ that came was playing a lot of older music which wasn't terrible but I wish there was more variety. read more

So I decided to order the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes last night through Ubereats. To my surprise instead of getting two jumbo crab cakes I only got one. I would recommend this place and I will probably return as well. The pace has GREAT Jazz music offered and close seating. BUT seating is limited please do Reservations if you want a good seat...Moreover there was only 1 server to 10 tables but the waiter somehow barely survived and kept up with most table demands ....In addition full bar including Henny and all signature drinks people expect. The food was good however the Bang'n shrimp as an app tasted good but was a disappointment; It was good but definitely not worth the price especially with the poor dish presentation. I ordered the Salmon for an Entree and my date ordered the Mama Griot/Plantains... Food portion size we good however not the best seasoned good; BUT I cant say the food was nasty just NOT Top 10 places...Lastly the bathroom was clean but only two restrooms (1 male 1 female); I was lucky that nobody went #2.....And The parking is on a public main road.... Hell no I wouldn't not recommend this place to anyone ! The chef Cory his food is so amazing he is the reason I kept coming back and eating there ! But the manager has the most stink , disrespectful and rude attitude it's crazy !Not only does she yell and talk down to her employees In front of any and everyone she makes people feel unwelcomed! This manager should be ashamed as to how she runs her Bussiness because it's unacceptable. The workers are all hard working and very nice people . The music could be better but it's pretty cool environment! The manger who is also Marlie need to have someone else run her Bussiness and she be on the back end because this isn't it . I've frequented this place several times and the service has gone from mediocre to horrible! My guest and I sat ourselves down and was asked to move by the manger because the table was reserved for 4 people. Within an hour of us being there, a party of 2 was seated at the same table. There was an event that night (that I paid to attend), we were told that there was a 2 drink minimum per person and food had to be ordered as well in order for us to stay seated! The food was ok. In the past the food was pretty good but something changed. The drinks were horrible! The bartender took our order for food. We had to go to the bar, ask for a menu and go back to the bar to place our order and all subsequent drink orders! The manager stood there and watched that happen! The band started late and lost power in between their set 3 times! A cap from a light fixture fell from the ceiling onto the dance floor! There was even an hour break in the middle of the set! It also didn't seem as if the AC was on all the time! I'm NEVER going back!!!! read more
