In 2018 we had a re-tile of a fireplace surround done with some hand made tile. Not only did they…read morebuy an excessive amount of tile for the job and stick us with a lot of very pricey excess tile, but their installation has left us now with eroding tile, as you can see from attached photos. The erosion began with a haze, which slowly led to a crumbling away of the glaze from the top of the tile. Also, numerous tiles have cracked, which is caused by poor installation. We've received an estimate of $1400.00 for the twelve or so tiles that need replacing. At this point we're unsure if the entire flooring hearth part of the job needs to be torn out. That will be way more costly. We were unhappy in general with all the delays and the slow pace of this company. Now this has made us even more furious about their quality of work. When they were lacquering the wood for the mantelpiece, it kept getting cloudy because they were applying it too close. My husband had to tell the worker how to do it and to back up and stand further away. Their craftsmen were not that skilled in a number of types of work such as applying wood finish and also tile sealant. Their tape that they used to attach protective paper to my rug also ruined it in the spots that they applied the tape. I can't tell you how sorry now that we ever got mixed up with this company.

One of the reasons for selecting JG Tile was Joel's expertise in plumbing, which he demonstrated when working with the powder room fixtures and gas oven. Joel offered some excellent advice, such as taking the opportunity to replace the out-dated fixtures with new ones, rather than re-installing the old ones. I took his advice and ordered a new toilet and vanity/sink which Joel picked up and installed without any up-charge. The price I paid for the entire project was very fair for the quality work I received.

He was responsive and quick when I sent him a photo of what I wanted done and gave me a fair price. Seth who did the work, was great! On-time, communicated effectively and efficiently with me. When the column that he was stucco-ing had some termites, he called me and showed me the issue and suggested remediation before he closed it up. A slash-and-dash guy would've just done the job and hoped for the best, but Seth did the right thing which cost HIM time. Kudos. His work was clean and professional and you can't tell where his work began and ended... even painting the stucco before he left. If you're needing stucco repair, call Steve Sanders.

I was surprised that the job only took a few hours but little did I know, they had either no clue what they were doing or were simply trying to just make it look good. Needless to say, it failed and within 6 months there were many areas of bubbling, peeling, chipping. I texted pictures and on March 25, Seth came over and told me that he would fix the problem areas and do it correctly. He described the process that he would use, showed me a sealer type product that should have been used and wasn't. He said that he was busy right then but would be able to take care of it in a few weeks. It is now June 4. He has since not responded to multiple calls and texts. I've been lied to and ghosted. All I can say is SHAME ON THEM!!

He came out, looked over the situation, and had the estimate back to me the very same night. Out of the estimates I received, his was honest, fair, and reasonably priced. Although I ultimately was not able to move forward with Legacy due to ins. claim timelines and how the payment process had to be handled, which had nothing to do with Mitch or the quality of his service. He was respectful, straightforward, and handled the estimate process exactly how you would hope a contractor would. Even though I did not end up hiring him for the work, I still felt he deserved a five-star review for his professionalism, responsiveness, and fair pricing. Based on my experience, I would absolutely consider Legacy Remodeling and Construction again in the future.
