We had OTL cater our moms service. We ordered food for 40 people and they dropped it off and set up just perfectly and left. The food was such a hit. Everyone loved the food. I am not sure how they can make salmon for 130 people without it being overcooked, especially in a buffet setting, but Bethany and her team definitely pulled it off! They also killed it on the cakes. They were very flexible with last minute allergy requests, and the changing final head count. When you book with them, you are getting their head chef, Bethany, on site running the show. Their staff were super professional, efficient, and nice. They are a small team, so don't expect the incredibly fast turn around time with emails and phone calls that you get with the big catering companies. But we loved that about them! Bethany and her staff catered our May wedding celebration in Napa. I could not have been more pleased with the outcome. We had 35 close friends and family attend the appetizer and sit down dinner in a small winery. Bethany took care of all staffing, table set up and plating rentals in addition to coordinating all of the catering. We started with passed appetizers and a cheese and fruit display. The cheese/fruit table was groaning with a beautiful array of cheeses and plump, fresh fruit accompanied by toast points and crackers. The baked brie was a meal in itself and the strawberries were some of the plumpest I had ever seen. We had selected the seared scallops on toast points, pecan chicken bites (my favorite!) and the turkey meatballs as appetizers which were passed by Bethany's staff prior to the meal. The staff did a great job - always fresh appetizers offerred by a friendly, unobtrusive staff. After appetizers, guests took their seats for the dinner. We had specified 4 different entrees for the dinner and our guests had made their selections prior to the event. The plating went off without a hitch and I think everyone loved their meals. I had the Tritip beef accompanied by yukon gold potatoes and asparagus - terrific! Bethany was very flexible in meal selections and how they would be presented. I was concerned that 4 selections for such a small group would be too many but everything went well. Yay for Bethany and Out to Lunch Catering!!! They are awesome! Our wedding reception was catered by Bethany and her Out to Lunch Catering crew this past August at Toby's Feed Barn in Point Reyes. We had and outdoor cocktail hour next to the barn, then we went into the barn for dinner (served family style for 140 guests), dancing, and a late night snack. Throughout the process Bethany was a very timely and straightforward communicator, (very important when planning out an event/dinner), she was very responsive and flexible with us. We discussed pricing with Bethany during our tasting so there were no surprises later on. One of the great things that she did for us, that gave me some major peace of mind, was a sight visit about a month before the wedding. She did a walk through with us and the venue manager and was able to get a feel for the space. She was on time and came prepared with questions of her own for the venue manager to make sure she would be prepared on the day of. Other caterers we had spoken with previously were ready to charge us for this kind of visit, but she did not charge us in any way for that walk through. We really enjoyed the food we ate at the tasting, and it was just as tasty at the wedding. All of the guests that I spoke with at the reception and afterwards were raving about the food. Also, when the late night snack was served Bethany and the other chef were sweet enough to put together a special plate for my husband and I to make sure we got some. Bethany brought just the right amount of servers and chefs to make it all happen. She also provided two bartenders, who were great and very nice, (I've been to some weddings where the bartenders were not very friendly, so this was something I was looking out for.) Everyone she brought seemed very willing to go above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. They were well prepared and everything ran on time from our perspective. Bethany's food is amazing!! She is also very nice and sweet. She catered my wedding in August this year and everyone LOVED the food! Even now, when I talk to family and friends who attended, they still talk about how much they loved the foot and have cravings for more. One of my friends said it was the best food he had ever tasted. Before I booked Bethany, I was really concerned with my previous caterer's quality of food. I didn't want to provide food to my guests that was anything but excellent. When I had a tasting with Bethany, I was so happy and I knew that she would do a great job and I booked with her instead of the other caterer. Appetizers: For the cocktail hour, we had coconut shrimp, egg rolls and poke served on wonton crisps. All 3 were delicious and the sauces for each made the food even better! Dinner: At dinner, we had a buffet where she served kalua pork, almond-crusted pan-seared chicken, roasted vegetables, coconut fried rice, fresh fruit, hawaiian sweet rolls and a butter-lettuce salad with macadamia nuts and strawberries and a pineapple vinaigrette dressing. I really loved the salad, home-made hawaiian sweet rolls and the pork and chicken. The service was also excellent at our wedding. The servers were consistently filling up glasses and were all so nice. They made sure that me and my husband got to eat some appetizers (knowing how crazy things get). The food looked great and tasted amazing. The portions were perfect too. The appetizers were the perfect size (large enough so you can take a couple bites). My one criticism (which is very minor and did not affect the service at our wedding or the quality of the food), is that at times, Bethany was so busy that it took her a little while to respond to emails/phone calls, which made me concerned that we wouldn't quickly resolve a couple issues. She probably needs to hire an assistant to help. However, she did respond and explain her delay in response. She also got everything done on time and was never stressed or worried, which made me feel great. So if you are worried about response time, don't. Bethany will take great care of you and make sure the food at your event is perfect and everything runs smoothly. Everyone was so impressed with the food!
