Dr. Oti is nuts! Today, I went for a 1 pm appointment to have a crown put in because my tooth broke in half (about 5 months after my last check up with him...). I arrived just before 1 pm. I am in the middle of a huge work project so I allotted about 2 hours for my visit with him (they said it would be about an hour 45 min) and then, late afternoon, I had other business meetings in Albuquerque, an hour away. I waited patiently as time passed... 15 minutes... 30 minutes... I didn't say a word but just did emails on my phone, hoping he would start on my tooth soon. When the assistant took me to the dental chair just after 1:30 pm, I could hear Dr. Oti with a patient next door (there are not separate rooms, just a half-wall between patients) so I asked the assistant if he would be able to start with me in the next few minutes or else I would have to reschedule. (He was over a half hour late at this point...)
This psycho man suddenly flew around the half wall and shouted at me and threw me out of his office. I wasn't rude or demanding - I asked a simple question because I have a heavy work load right now and afternoon appointments. He said I was wasting his time by expecting him to follow (his own) schedule. It was so weird! He was waving his arms and telling me that no doctors are on time. And, he said that I should not schedule anything after an appointment with him so he's not rushed. (What?! My appt was at 1 pm! I run my own business, and was not taking a day off because he can't keep a schedule)...
He was incredibly rude and I've never been treated that way by any medical professional.Santa Fe is a small town, and after telling people about this, several others have described his behavior as "erratic" and that he has "outbursts" of anger. Clearly, this is not an isolated incident. I seriously suggest you DON'T go to him... He clearly cannot manage his emotions... OR his business! Imagine how he is at home... if he abuses his CUSTOMERS like that... I feel sorry for his family. read more
