Came here based off the pictures. It was good though nothing over the top. I'm glad I got to finally try their bagels but I don't know if I'd be a frequent customer unless I want to splurge as it was pretty pricey. I do appreciate that they offer breakfast sandwich options not just lunch. The location inside is spacious and the decor is lovely! Only reason I give it a 4 star instead of a 5 is that it took almost 45 minutes for our bagels. I did notice a couple people that ordered after us get theirs first. The store is customer facing with lots of greenery and local artists for sale on the walls. It's a beautiful spot and the staff are friendly. However, the bagels are fine. They are made in-house but are nothing to rave over. The bagel sandwiches are very expensive. Ingredients are good quality but it feels absurd to pay $13 for. Their lox bagel was delicious and I've tried a Halloween Exclusive flavor that was just fine. Not bad food at all, just average. read more

Visited for the first time over the summer to grab an everything bagel breakfast sandwich and no, it didn't come super cheap, but it was so carefully constructed and memorably delicious that I've been back several times. When I want something special for breakfast, the sandwiches here are right up there with the Banter burrito or Birth Door's benedict on the elite tier. Out of the 3 sandos I've tried, the best bang for buck was the Pauli Boy. I can only imagine some of the lunch sandwiches are also worth trying. read more

It was ok. We're in the area visiting and a bagel sounded good. Randy ordered the Jawn Boi on a Parmesan bagel and I got the standard with bacon on the onion bagel. My bacon was quite fatty making it pretty much inedible - I took most of it off. We enjoyed the schmear and the bagels were ok. We thought they lacked flavor. Service was great. Very good bagels, the kind you dream about. Crunch on the outside soft in the inside. They always have awesome flavors to choose from. My favorite is the Bagel Bagel sandwich and its flavors are perfectly balanced. It's a little pricey so I don't suggest a weekly or monthly visit. And my one peeve about this place is that they have a ton of plants and most of them are barely hanging on to life. They are selling spider plants in tiny pots for $16. Yikes guys. Also the tipping on the POS starts at %25. They don't buss your table or deliver your food so your tipping is to basically say "thanks for standing there punching in my order". Tipping in Bellingham is out of control. I suggest paying your employees better if they "need the dough". read more

I opted for a 'build your own sandwich' and it added up pretty quick...the red onion slices could be a little thicker, given the fact that each add on is $1.oo. I wish I took a photo. We did a mobile order from Otherside Bagel. It was a great to-go option since we had a long day ahead of us. We didn't get to spend too much time in the shop since we only had a take out order, but I would've loved to stay and enjoy my bagel here. The shop has a cute diner-ish vibe with photos & plants thoughtfully placed throughout. I can't say too much about the service but I can only assume it would be great. A staff member cheerfully greeted us & she also complimented my jacket which I thought was really sweet of her. Our mobile order was ready right when the ordering system said it would.. so all good things basically lol. Onto the food.. The bagels were really good! I got the NW smoke - it was filled with a flavorful herb shmear & smoked salmon. My only complaint was that it was pretty salty. Maybe it's just the smoked salmon itself, since my friend who got the Salmon Classic said the same thing. Other members in our group had the Bagel Bagel which was SUPER good (and not salty). It was loaded with tons of flavor & had a slight spicy kick to it. I wish I got that instead. TL;DR cute cafe with nice workers that serves up good breakfast sandwiches and drinks. We went around brunch time (I think around 11am) and it wasn't super busy. They have a nice clean inside with friendly staff. We ordered drinks and bagels and everything was great. We didn't have to wait very long for the food to come out. The sandwiches were filling and the chai latte was flavorful. I also had the electric mud which was a nice balance between the dark chocolate and the coffee flavor. I am not a connoisseur of bagels. I only eat them occasionally. Therefore my following comments are offered as coming from a "novice". Upon entering, I observed a tidy, clean comfortable space. Approaching the counter, I was greeted by a smiling, friendly, helpful employee. I opted for the "Monthly Special". The aforementioned, friendly employee happily offered that The Monthly Special was one of their "most popular orders". As a person with minimal bagel experience, how could I argue? I ordered the Monthly Special. I turned and found a comfortable table. Literally, only a couple minutes later, another smiling, friendly helpful employee delivered my order. I enjoyed the bagel. It was fresh, tasty and well... boring. Personally, I enjoy food with a little more excitement. This was a nice offering, but just not to my personal taste. I will definitely visit this store again. New Favorite Bellingham spot I was in town so I stopped by to try it out and now it's become a reason to go to Bellingham. First of all, the bagels are DELICIOUS. Chewy, soft, and crispy in all the right places. I had the salmon schmear and it didn't disappoint. Generous portions topped off with a made-in-house pickle that could be a destination pickle for the pickiest of pickle eaters. There are some creative coffee options and not-your-standard cold drinks in the fridge. Secondly, the place is roomy, comfortable, welcoming, and (a favorite for me) features work of local artists. It's a great spot to bring friends and have a conversation you can actually hear! And finally the staff is friendly and attentive. Bonus, easy street parking. I always enjoy the cinnamon sugar bagel while my husband enjoys a breakfast sandwich bagel. The bagels are nice and chewy, and fairly cheap. I would say the one downfall would be the consistency. Sometimes I get no toppings, while other times it's too much sugar on top. I have also tried the coffee on multiple occasions (americanos) and have always been sadly disappointed by a very sour, bitter flavor. I've tried it twice and was just as underwhelmed each time, even after trying vastly different bagels and flavors. It's just okay. Bottom line... the bagels are great! Brand spanking new (3 days) they really have it all together. The selection was still good at 1pm on a Sunday (they close at 3pm) which is often not the case at other bagel establishments. Very good friendly service, a big space to sit and have a nice breakfast or to hang out for a while. I got the NW Smoke (add salmon) bagel and it was absolutely DELICIOUS. We also got the Pauli-Boy which was a bit bland so I can't recommend it much, but you can't win them all. Otherside is our top choice for bagels in town. They're a little pricier than other options, but I prefer the texture and flavor of these bagels. I also prefer a bagel sandwich to a bagel and schmear, so the plethora of sandwich options at Otherside is a HUGE plus for me. We've tried probably 2/3 of the menu and everything is good. Our favorites are anything with the pastrami (Reuben, pauliboy etc) and the bagel bagel is just fun with the hash brown inside. GREAT BAGELS and bagel sandwich offerings! I had the "Salmon Classic" (a Bagel w/ Lox and Dill Cream Cheese smear on a toasted Herb & Salt Bagel). The Lox was fresh, expertly sliced and was presented topped w/ sliced red onions, capers, and fresh dill. My wife had the "Jawn-Boi" (a Bagel w/ Bacon, Sausage, Fried Egg and Sharp Cheddar on a toasted Herb & Salt Bagel). Both bagel sandwiches were Excellent, and the portion size was very good - we did not leave hungry! We just had to buy a half dozen bagels to go! Super cool place but ended up being very disappointed. I paid $12 for a bagel sandwich that was tiny and was pretty lackluster. With the bagelry right down the road, you are much better off going there and paying $10 for a bagel sandwich, chips and a pickle. The prices at Otherside are outrageous for what it is. The bagel itself was honestly pretty dry and did not taste as good as the bagelry. I don't think I will be coming back unfortunately. read more
