Driving through central/east Florida, we were hungry and looking for a good spot in what is a bit of a restaurant wasteland. Thanks to Yelp, found this oasis. Sign on door said all tables reserved for the evening, but we were there around six so decided to ask if they could squeeze us in. Lucky for us, they could. I often say service transcends food, but this place has both on offer, in spades. Fantastic, friendly service by husband/chef, wife/front of house, and a sole waiter. Went with all recommendations from chef and waiter, and we were blown away. Started with a gnocchi appetizer, served three ways with a white, Alfredo-type sauce, a pesto, and a delicate fresh crushed tomato. Excellent. For mains we went with lobster ravioli (special) and for once they weren't served in a heavy cheese/tomato cream sauce, but a light tomato sauce instead. Perfect pairing against the rich ravioli. I enjoyed a pasta dish with prosciutto, tomatoes, caramelized onions, wine and garlic, finished with pecorino Romano. Divine. We passed on the Caesar salad, but wish we hadn't as they're made table side, and looked delicious. Finally we enjoyed their homemade limoncello cake, which was light and decadent with a whipped mascarpone cheese icing and slivered fresh berries. 11/10. Such a great spot - off the beaten path and in an unassuming strip center, but definitely worth a drive. Just call first for a reservation. read more

My bestfriend had a birthday dinner here and they went absolutely above and beyond. The service was 10/10. The food was SO fresh. So delicious. And I loved the whole ambiance of the restaurant. Not worth $142 We constantly eat out and are well know foodies and we'll traveled around the globe. We had a Cesar salad for 2 which was made table side, nice touch. Tasted good but was VERY small portion and was $30 Dinner we ordered Risotto with shrimp. Ordinary at best and was super oily. Other entree was mixed seafood pasta. Zero flavor, wasn't even salted properly, probably because seafood was definitely frozen and pasta was from a box not homemade. Also had 2 Peroni beer each. All in bill was $142. We had heard this place was great food. Not sure what those others are eating. We don't mind spending good money for great food but this was definitely not the case at Osteria Rustica. We love to call this place our little secret date spot , its always good food here but the place is a little tight and the menu can be a little limited since i think they wanna focus on the quality of food they serve rather than quantity of the menu choices, which i personally appreciate. For the past few years I have been searching for an authentic Italian dining experience, one that would take me back to dinners in Roma, Firenze or along the Amalfi Coast. I really have not had much luck, but indeed I got lucky when my daughter noticed the excellent YELP! Reviews for Osteria. From the moment you walk in the door, you feel transformed to another place and the staff make you feel like family, in the way that Italians have a knack for doing. But let's face it, you would prefer to hear about the food instead of my whimsical ramblings of memories of Italy. You will note they have two menus, one standard menu and one special menu that is always changing. The special menu is more expensive but portions are huge, so don't be scared to split or share. We ordered two appetizers and two entrees from the special menu for the three of us and it was more food than we could eat. Gnochetti Tricolor - three versions of gnocchi, one Pesto, one Alfredo and one marinara version. All were delightful, but the marinara was my clear favorite while my daughters loved the Pesto versions. Caesar Salad - prepared table side, this dish really surprised me more than any we tried. While most of the ingredients were traditional, this one uses Tabasco and anchovies (not optional) and has much more of a balsamic flavor than the traditional creamy Caesar you may be used to. At first bite I was disappointed but only because I expected a different flavor but by my third bite, I was in heaven. When I asked the owner on his use of Tabasco (which you don't taste), he explained that the acid in the Tabasco takes away the fishiness of the anchovies allowing you to get the anchovy flavor that enhances the dish. DO NOT MISS THIS DISH. Filet with Gorgonzola Sauce - amazing flavor, really a delightful dish with the butteriness of the filet complimented by the creamy Gorgonzola sauce. Also served with vegetables, Risotto, and creamy noodles all of which were delightful. This was a fabulous dish. Ossobucco- this dish was served with Pork Shoulder on this night, although other nights they do serve it with veal. This was a very traditional dish, full of flavor with the pork fork tender. While the food is fantastic, the service was even better, with the servers being professional, but very personable and their recommendations were spot on. It was truly a wonderful experience. I was there with my wife couple weeks ago and we really like this restaurant. I've never seen a fancy place in Palm Coast like this. Location is convenient as well. The staff was very welcoming. Even chef came out and brought the dishes to us. The only disadvantages are, a too small venue and the prices are too expensive. Over all this place is nice. read more

I'm spoiled by a wife who can cook anything and typically it's better than dining out. So - when I dine out - I do so for an experience...and what an incredible experience! I totally judged a book by the cover from the "strip mall" style of location. Walked in to a very basic dining room. Was then met by a fantastic host - younger guy who has spent his time to learn proper Italian. As we carried on the host was simply incredible - to the point of helping an elderly gentlemen into his chair and lifting him up to the table. Very welcoming and very personal. You can't find that very often. Then the food came...FML. I need more...and I need it now...as I type (sitting in the restaurant) I'm having physical withdrawals as shaking because I'm running low on my New Zealand rack of lamb! I am from Miami and I have never experienced service like this. ( I have been to four seasons and Ritzs all over and this blows them all out of the water, not to mention it's also less than half the cost in comparison.) Quite literally the server comes up to you about every three to four minutes to attend to your needs. The staff is incredibly nice, I have a shellfish allergy and they made my own entree with eggplant. There are no words to describe how fresh the food is. Pasta melts in your mouth. Tiramisu is out of this world. Needless to say, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves Fine Italian dining. I would give this six stars easily. read more

This small Italian restaurant has the best homemade Italian food I have ever enjoyed anywhere. We started with with a Caesar salad. I had the veal chop medium rare with a red wine reduction with mushrooms, a papparelle pasta and very thin sliced vegetables. My husband had the lobster papparelle pasta dish and loved every morsel. The pear tart with melted chocolate inside melted in your mouth with each bite. A cherry chocolate gelato was an addition to the warm tart. Our most favorite Italian restaurant. read more

I've eaten in Paris. I've been to nice places in New York. Traveled in many states. I am shocked to find this gem in my own back yard. This was a true dining experience. Our waiter was perfect. The food was incredible. The owner came to the table several times, including singing Happy Birthday. I cannot wait to go back. I wouldn't take children here but you can. This is Avery unique restaurant. We have gone there on special occasions and on the first two visits food and service were superb. Most recently, we still experienced the excellent service and fanfare( which you pay dearly for), but the food was not as good as past experiences. Maybe it was an" off night."
