Excellent experience! Delicious food great setting with water views & outside dining. We had the grilled octopus....it was perfection , caprese salad with fresh tomatoes & fresh buffalo mozzarella, & the sea bass special. Everything was so good that we didn't have room for dessert....but we did take limoncello cake & coconut tiramisu home to accompany our Netflix marathon later

We had a great experience. Sat by the waters edge with a lovely view of sunset. The chicken parm was great and my mom had a pasta dish with seafood and a mushroom cream sauce which she loved! Then we both got dessert. I enjoyed the coconut tiramisu and she had the chocolate cake. Both were great but the coconut tiramisu was next level.

zuppe di mare and whatever the f they brought first - by mistake.

Christmas night dinner - not a single decoration in the dining room. Ok. It's not obligatory - just smart. I don't eat meat. I was served an entree that had sausage in it. I'm there with my mother who is probably having her last Christmas so instead of upsetting her I put the sausage aside from a dish that is clearly not zuppa di mare. Then they bring my actual dish. It happens but... then I saw it happen with another table but they told them that this wasn't what they ordered. I sat next to a wall of liquor boxes and watched as one of the wait staff dried glasses on the table across from me that had just come out of the pot wash. When entrees are 40 and 65 put your liquor boxes out of sight, find a place for your staff to dry dishes not in the dining room during service, bring a steak knife for lamp chops, bring the right food and consider putting up some Christmas decorations. It can't hurt given that the rest of the issues probably won't be resolved. I wouldn't go again.

When you have a sizzle dining incentive at a place like this, it's hard to resist going. This was the best experience I've had at this restaurant... From the table overlooking the water, the service by Jelena, the fabulous guitarist/singer, and of course, the impeccable creations by the infamous AJ. I only wish this sizzle menu was available all year round, even if it was offered at an earlier time of day so we could come in and avoid the throngs of people that naturally gravitate to restaurants like this. What a treat...

After my experience on Thursday, February 12th, that's over. At 6:05 PM, I placed a small online order (mozzarella sticks, a calzone, and a sandwich) through their website, as I always do. Estimated pickup: 29 to 34 minutes. I arrived at 6:41 with my wife and kids in the car. Food wasn't ready, but "five more minutes." Fine. Five turned into twenty. Twenty turned into forty. During that time, I watched the staff take phone orders and quote every customer "20 to 25 minutes," no matter the order size. When I asked what the holdup was, the staff, who were genuinely doing their best, explained that new kitchen staff were struggling. My son was starving, so I left to grab him food elsewhere and came back about 30 minutes later, confident my order would be waiting. It wasn't. At 7:35 PM, ninety minutes after placing a three-item order, nothing was ready. I asked the staff why they were still quoting 20-minute turnarounds when the reality was 90+ minutes. I suggested they pause online ordering to let the kitchen recover. They told me the owner, Jared Grifoni, has instructed them to keep online orders on and to continue telling customers 20 minutes, despite knowing the kitchen is nowhere close to meeting that timeline. That's not a bad night. That's a policy decision to mislead customers for the sake of revenue. I requested a refund. As it was being processed, two of my three items finally came out. When the staff asked the kitchen about the last item, the answer was: "I have no idea when we'll get to that." I left at 7:46 PM, one hour and forty-one minutes after ordering. To be clear: the staff on the floor that night are not to blame. They were put in a no-win situation and handled it as well as anyone could. The issue is ownership making a conscious choice to overload the kitchen, deceive customers about wait times, and let the staff absorb the fallout. When I arrived, the restaurant was nearly full. When I left, it was almost empty. I won't be adding myself to either count again.

The restaurant he usually goes to was packed, but as it turns out, that was a blessing in disguise. Just around the bend we found Pelican Bend, and I'm so glad we did. The parking lot had a handful of cars, and there were a dozen or so people scattered around tables and the bar--definitely felt like a laid-back spot where locals hang out. The setup is great: several rows of Adirondack chairs, an outdoor bar, about 10-12 umbrella-covered tables, and a screened-in porch with another bar and additional seating. Relaxed, coastal, and inviting. Our waitress, Sydney, was absolutely lovely--friendly, kind, and honestly one of the best servers I've had in a long time. She was very personable and made several recommendations, all of which were spot on. We started with the calamari, which can be tricky, but this was cooked perfectly. My dad ordered the seafood chowder and a wedge salad and loved both. I ordered the grouper sandwich with a side wedge salad. Between the calamari and the salad, I was so full I ended up taking the sandwich home--and it was still delicious the next day after a quick spin in the air fryer. If you're in the Marco Island/Isle of Capri area, definitely give Pelican Bend a try. Great food, top-notch service, and thoughtful touches too--the sun kept shifting, and the hostess even came over to rotate the umbrella for us. A really wonderful experience.

The host even pointed out the specific table and suggested we sit at the bar while we waited. My husband dislikes sitting at the bar, so we would not have agreed to that arrangement if we knew we would be there for the entire meal. There was also outdoor seating available right away, which we would have preferred over the bar had we been given accurate information. When the table became available, another couple was seated there instead. I overheard an interaction between employees implying they intentionally chose not to move us because we were already sitting at the bar. In other words, the table we were told was ours was knowingly given away. What made the situation worse was the lack of communication afterward. No one updated us or acknowledged what had happened until I finally asked about the table. At first, I was told the previous guests were taking longer than expected, which was not true. After I questioned that explanation, staff admitted the table had likely been reassigned by management. My biggest issues were the lack of communication, being misled about the situation and the complete lack of apology or acknowledgment from the manager, who was visibly checking on other tables while avoiding ours. Mistakes happen, but honesty and communication go a long way. Neither was handled well here. Otherwise, the food was delicious, but unfortunately it was hard to enjoy with our poor experience.

The seafood selection on the menu felt limited. I expected more variety for a coastal restaurant. Appetizers were decent but did not stand out. The salmon carpaccio looked nice and tasted as expected, but the flavor was fairly simple. The frutti de mar had good flavor and the seafood was cooked properly. The sauce worked well and did not overpower the dish. The portion was disappointing for the price. The dish cost $52 dollars and only included three scallops and three shrimp. The rest of the seafood was mostly clams and mussels. I substituted angel hair instead of linguine which helped keep the dish lighter. The chicken Madeira looked great but the flavor was mild. With a stronger sauce or seasoning it could easily be an excellent dish. The kids meals were a win. The chicken tenders and pasta kept them happy and the portions were solid. Overall experience was good mainly because of the service and presentation. Some dishes need stronger flavor and the seafood portions could match the price better. Still a pleasant dinner spot on Marco Island.

Wish we ordered another one as it wasn't enough for us (4 people). As this was a take out order, there was a big issue. The app gave options to add for an order. I ordered a spaghetti marina and thought I "added" garlic and oil. But when we received the order, it was just pasta, garlic and oil. Wtf?! Why the heck would anyone order a spaghetti and only want garlic and oil? The option was NOT clear. I thought it was in ADDITION to. So for $20 I got pasta and garlic and oil. No marinara. It's NOT spaghetti! This was a take out order so the experience might not be the same if you eat at the restaurant. Uber here if you can, as the parking situation is limited and tight and you find yourself circling the lot waiting for people to leave. This place doesn't take reservations, wait times can be significantly high, which doesn't help the parking situation. If you want to eat outside, be prepared to wait. We came on a Wednesday night, 5:30 (early) in April (not the busiest time of year) and we waited 45 minutes for an outdoor table. We didn't really care as we had a drink and talked, but you might.
