The Reuben grouper is so good good! Beautiful quaint place with a great view of the calm water. Fun drinks too! Pina colada was great!

Seafood casserole

We started out ordering frozen concoctions... I got a pina colada, and hubs ordered a banana daquri. This place is literally a tiki hut with a little beach behind it, so you would think they would know how to make a decent frozen drink. Sadly, this is not the case. Ar least, not on our visit. They were the worst frozen drinks I have ever had... it had very bland flavor, the consistency was icy, not creamy, and I hardly tasted any liquor. Stick with beer, wine, or a standard mixed drink. Thankfully, the food was much better than the drinks. I didn't want fried food, but I was also not in the mood for a salad... so I ordered the seafood casserole, which was served with veggies & rice. It was very good with mahi, scallops, and shrimp. The veggies included steamed broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and yellow squash. The veggies were very good and not overcooked. Very happy I ordered this. Hubs ordered seafood pasta with garlic & butter sauce. He was very pleased with the flavor and the generous portion size. Our server took good care of us and noticed we weren't drinking our yucky drinks, so he took them off our tab. We were appreciative of that. Based on this experience, we would definitely come back but will skip the frozen drinks.

This was my first time ever here and I expected a casual beach lunch spot. It was essentially what I expected but the service was absent and forgetful, and one of our fish sandwiches came raw and pink when cut into. Otherwise, it's a fine spot, but with so many options, I can't see a reason to come back.

We ended up getting takeout from Capri Fish House while visiting the area recently. It's a popular spot that gets pretty busy during peak times, plus it was a super windy day and they mostly have outdoor seating so we decided we'd rather eat at home. Our food was ready when we arrived. I also got a virgin pina colada to go, which was everything I dreamed of - sweet but not too sweet, and delicious. I ordered the grouper finger basket with onion rings, and Nate got the grouper sandwich with Cajun seasoning and fries. It's definitely always a bit of a gamble getting fried food as takeout, and my onion rings were really soggy after the 15 minute drive back home. They were still tasty, and the grouper fingers were the star of the show anyway. They were crispy on the outside with what seemed like a cornmeal crust, and the fish was flaky and tender. It was a generous portion, too. The restaurant has the best beach vibes with seating right on the water or on the deck under the tiki hut. They also have kayaks and paddle boards to rent which is really cool.

This my kind of place. Fresh seafood on the beach. Tiki bar connected to the marina. Boats, beers and really good food. Just a shack on the water run by a fellow Bostonian who knows seafood. Not cheap but worth it for the vibe alone. Ya feel like you're in the carribean.

The restaurant he usually goes to was packed, but as it turns out, that was a blessing in disguise. Just around the bend we found Pelican Bend, and I'm so glad we did. The parking lot had a handful of cars, and there were a dozen or so people scattered around tables and the bar--definitely felt like a laid-back spot where locals hang out. The setup is great: several rows of Adirondack chairs, an outdoor bar, about 10-12 umbrella-covered tables, and a screened-in porch with another bar and additional seating. Relaxed, coastal, and inviting. Our waitress, Sydney, was absolutely lovely--friendly, kind, and honestly one of the best servers I've had in a long time. She was very personable and made several recommendations, all of which were spot on. We started with the calamari, which can be tricky, but this was cooked perfectly. My dad ordered the seafood chowder and a wedge salad and loved both. I ordered the grouper sandwich with a side wedge salad. Between the calamari and the salad, I was so full I ended up taking the sandwich home--and it was still delicious the next day after a quick spin in the air fryer. If you're in the Marco Island/Isle of Capri area, definitely give Pelican Bend a try. Great food, top-notch service, and thoughtful touches too--the sun kept shifting, and the hostess even came over to rotate the umbrella for us. A really wonderful experience.

The salad bar is a nice touch, it's not huge, but it's enough and it's something that we loved and you just don't see anymore. Our table was right on the water, great view and you really can't beat the outdoor dining experience. Band was really good and we enjoyed the live music! Our service was great our waiter was friendly and attentive. Seating options are varied, something for everyone. You can sit under the tiki roof, you will find the bar and band in there. It's dark, but open air and if you like a lively loud environment when you eat, this is the place to be. There is indoor seating near the salad bar, if you want a more calmer, quiet setting, this is where you want to be. There is an outdoor setting at picnic tables, if you want an outdoor setting with water views and live music, this is where you want to be, but you will need to wait to be seated. This is an extremely casual place, no need to dress up. Some not so good: Parking here is a disaster! Uber here if you can, as the parking situation is limited and tight and you find yourself circling the lot waiting for people to leave. This place doesn't take reservations, wait times can be significantly high, which doesn't help the parking situation. If you want to eat outside, be prepared to wait. We came on a Wednesday night, 5:30 (early) in April (not the busiest time of year) and we waited 45 minutes for an outdoor table. We didn't really care as we had a drink and talked, but you might.

We were seated on the outside patio that overlooks water and yachts and regular boats. The day was beautiful and the ambiance of the restaurant added to our enjoyment. The daily special menu drew us in and we ordered from it. I had the tacos of the day, a mild white fish that I forget the name, and they were very good. A bargain at $10 for 2. I also had the volcano shrimp which was very good. They were fried and slightly spicy. The diced mango on top was a good addition. I enjoyed my dishes very much. The wife had shrimp tacos and liked them very much. Her two tacos came with a lot of fresh shrimp that was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. Her meal came with slaw and she chose onion rings, which were good. She did not order off the special menu and I think her two tacos were $22. The kid had sliders from the special menu, which included two sliders for $8. She ate 1.5 sliders which is good for her. Our server Stephanie was attentive and friendly. She answered all our questions on the menu and was pleasant. The restaurant is located in a shopping mall-type structure and there is ample free parking. Overall, we had a very nice experience.
