10/23 Diego and Max hosted a wonderful rooftop Argentine style dinner it was amazing. The meats and veggies were each different so flavourful. Some much food too. I hope they do this on a regular basis. Sorry I did not sip the Mescal, I will next time 10/29 can you tell I kicked this place. The spinach and cheese ravioli, Max prepared was really good. My spouse loves Italian food and when we were in Puerto Morellos, Osteria Barocca was his favourite restaurant. He adored both their pasta and pizza offerings. He loved it so much we went back. I don't do well with Italian food, but I partook in their happy hour 2 for 1 margaritas and they were delicious. When someone says hidden gem... This restaurant embodies that in every essence of the word. For starters the owner Diego greeted us close to the street and asked us if we'd like to visit. We noticed the Italian feel patio and it reminded us of our time in Roma & Venezia . We were enamored by the ambiance. We asked if they had Gluten Free & Vegan options. Yes & Yes and even emphasized "we make everything fresh" wow. Hidden gem. We sit down and the server greets us and offers us some wine and to our surprise the options were truly world class without breaking the bank. Like..as world travelers..we're thinking...is this real right now? Again...hidden gem. I ordered an arrabiata pasta with mushrooms with Gluten Free pasta and a salad my love ordered a pesto pasta with fire oven roasted vegetables. When the dishes came out... again... we're like...umm are we in Mexico right now or Italy ? The flavors were truly spectacular and I'll tell you it reminded me of the first time in my life I had arrabiata sauce in Italy . It was in San Remo, Italy. Arrabiata means "angry" in Italian, it's a unique red sauce typically made with Calabrian chili peppers and fresh roma tomatoes. This place is incredible!! The atmosphere is perfect! Open to a beautiful little calle with great views, an open kitchen with a fire wood oven grill whwre you can smell the incredible aromas of fresh pizzas and pastas being made right in front of you. The process is like artwork! Excellent music helps create the perfect ambiance. By far the best part of finding this wonderful gem in theis adorable beach town is that they have numerous gluten free and vegan options. I selected a freshly made gluten free and vegan penne pasta made with fresh basil and garlic pesto. It was sublime.... Our server Chepo went above and beyond to ensure that the order was correct, and for an order from me with as many food intolerances and preferences as I have, this trully was a task! I had a house salad to start, and the balsamic reduction drizzled atop was a perfect balance of tart sweetness. I had the fire oven roasted vegetables on the side, and the flavor from the wood was deliciously present in every bite, complimenting the wonderful flavors inherent in each type of vegetable. My boyfriend and I were actually walking toward another restaurant when we encountered Diego, the owner of this incredible establishment along the way. We notified him that we were both vegan and gluten free and he assured us that Osteria Barocca had several choices to fit our dietary needs, and if we desired anything not on the menu they would easily cater to our every ask and whim as every dish is made fresh and to order, with no exceptions. We were very pleasantly surprised and plan to return for more delicious flavors and dishes every single day of our vacation here! Last night my wife and I attended a Mezcal tasting/Food pairing event at Osteria Barocca, co-hosted by Don Mexcal restaurant. The event was on the roof with amazing views of the town and the Caribbean Sea. Diego, Jessica, Javi, and their team put on amazing event where we tasted a variety of mezcals, each paired with delicious Mexican dishes. The setting was great. The vibe was warm and friendly. In the midst of things, a Mariachi band arrived to treat us to some traditional music. If you get a chance to attend one of these events, don't miss it. read more

What an amazing venue with such a delicious menu. You can tell that the chef puts his entire soul into his phenomenal cooking. Our family of five found this gem on our first night in Puerto Morelos and felt that it was a must to dine again as a reward for our final night. We tasted everything from their perfect crusted pizzas to their mind blowing chicken piccata. We will defiantly be back in the future. Thank you Chef for the amazing hospitality. We ate at this cute restaurant twice already this week. The staff is wonderful. We were served by Yamira and Alexis. We started with one of the best margaritas I've ever had. For dinner we had a Margarita pizza that consisted of a crispy thin crust and Shrimp Alfredo. Both were very good and the portions are large. The place has a very contemporary atmosphere and has several outdoor tables which we used both times we ate there. They place also appeared to be very clean which was important to us considering the outbreak of COVID-19. We highly recommend giving them a try. read more

Lovely restaurant, with truly fantastic food. Elegant atmosphere and nice waitstaff. The menu is expansive, with lots of different pizzas, pastas, and risottos, as well as mains. You can watch the chefs make the homemade pasta as you wait, and it really is delicious. (My mother had a type of pasta she had never seen before!) They are a new restaurant and working out some kinks, but are willing to improve and provide excellent service for their customer. (For example, I am a vegetarian, and they customized a delicious fettuccine dish just for me.) Also, for dessert, get the panna cotta, it is splendid. read more

I have been to PM many times. But this is first time I have seen this restaurant. I was completely surprised by the depth of the menu and wine list in this small fishing village. I had the penne pasta with shrimp and wine sauce. Additionally, I ordered a pepperoni pizza to go. It was traditional. The crust was perfect. Right amount of sauce. Nice balance of save, cheese and toppings. It was absolutely awesome. I was very pleased with the atmosphere. The decor and tables fit with the Italian motif. The service was great. The server was very attentive and on spot. If you are in the area. I recommend you try this place. It's definitely worth your time. Take the advice of an old fat man! I will return. read more
