Vegan. In Puerto Morelos?! Sí!!…read more After getting a flat on a bike, we dropped it off and walked a few places over and found this wonderful gem of a restaurant. Locals love it as much as we did; we ran into a couple of them that we met during our stay. The food is delicious! For 70 pesos, you get soup, aqua del día, rice, beans, and choice of 3 sides (freshly cooked veggies, seitan, soy), freshly made tortillas, plus a postre. On the day I went I got potatoes, zucchini, and something soy and spicy. What a great meal in a local place with wonderful people.

You can chose between a large plate for 80 pesos (I think) which includes soup, 3 choices of mains, rice , beans & desert. The smaller plate is only 50 pesos with 2 choices of main & no soup but with desert. Black beans & fresh handmade tortillas are served on the side. I chose mushrooms & soy chorizo as my mains. My husband got tempeh pork, zucchini & cactus for his mains. See pics! Both also come with agua Fresca. We had guava & lemon ginger which were both delicious & refreshing. We both enjoyed our meals. It was such a great price for so much food too! The family running the restaurant were super friendly & attempted English as we did Spanish so that we were able to communicate easily. I will definitely return!

An absolute gem of a place in downtown Tulum…read more I love finding restaurants like this one. The vibe is super chill, the staff is accommodating and the food is simple - just real food. They also have a lovely backyard. Overall a great place to eat where it's quiet and you can connect to the Wi-Fi. During my first visit I had the camote y yucca fritas & the falafel pita. The second time I came for lunch I ordered huevos a la mexicana from the breakfast menu. The food was lovely both times! Most importantly, you cannot miss the fresh juices they make here. I had the antigripal (orange + ginger) as well as 2 from the house mixes: pachi and kabal. These two are the most popular juices, my server told me. They are both green juices with a base of orange and chaya. Would love to come back and recommend to anyone who enjoys vegetarian and vegan food!

If any Indian is reading this Mexican Panela cheese is like a sister of paneer, they will use it to garnish your bowl. I liked my falafel, wifey had an okish experience with her bowl(too much yucca or potato). Salsa and chips were ok. Dessert was good, vegan no egg berry pie. Coffee only had almond milk and was just fine. Staff: The owner spoke Spanish but was understanding and nice to have a conversation with. It's not the restaurant's fault but we expected a lot from them after Charlie's Vegan Tacos and Co.Canamor.
