We are not golfers. Not even a little bit. So I cannot judge the excellence of this course from a…read moregolfing standpoint. But I can expertly judge the scenery, staff and cart riding shenanigans. We went on a perfect 70 degree Saturday afternoon. We rented a cart, which cost us $28 each. We also needed a set of clubs, balls and 4 beers. The staff took pity on our obviously clueless selves and gave us an excellent discount on the clubs, filled a cooler with ice for us and wouldn't even accept a tip. Altogether our afternoon of fun cost $76. If my husband can't call himself a golfer, than I can't even call myself a spectator. By the end of our adventure, my sweet, patient, non-competitive man was quietly suggesting that I just use this as putting practice. :) I think my average stroke was 13. Haha! But we still had an absolute blast. The carts are gas powered and zippy and the course was gorgeous. It is located right along Lake Cascade with snow capped mountains as the back drop. There were a lot of hills, trees and sand traps (hence my embarrassing average). Nonetheless it was a glorious afternoon filled with beautiful weather, golf innuendos, and a few moments of panic that the cart was going to tip. ‍

She not only raised her voice and talked over me when we were discussing the cost of a "stick" getting caught in the impeller while we were were using it, but when I asked her to change her demeaning tone, she repeated it in the same tone 3 times...on purpose. I spent 40 years in sales and customer service, and I can tell you I would have fired her if she'd ever taken that tone with our customers. The other people there were very nice, but they need a new manager. What a terrible example.

I recommend this place to anyone who wants a pontoon rental, ski/surf boat rental or a nice meal on the water with great drinks and good vibes. They also have live music sometimes! The Marina is amazing, and I keep coming back every year for this reason - highly recommend. Don't let the negative reviews steer you, they are just upset and unhappy customers that couldn't find a better use of their time but to spread negative/untrue information. I have been around this crew for a few years now and they do an excellent job. Let's spread this positivity!! Definitely check them out if you're in the McCall area and enjoy the uniqueness of what the lake and people in this area have to offer. Once again, highly recommend. We all love Mile High Marina!!

All the amenities listed were exactly as advertised and it was a total thrill to see the workmanship, these people care about their property. Don't pass up the opportunity to stay here, we only did a one night stay and we could've lived in that little room for six months, analytics it was so comfortable!

While trailing on an ATV in Cascade, we lost my father in law's fishing bag filled with priceless items. We drove to Kuna and realized it was gone, and this was right before memorial weekend. I joined Cascade Idaho group and got accepted. I posted about his bag and someone named Sharon picked it up. Michael Powell, retired law enforcement, and family business owner of the Valley Bait and Tackle Shop reached out to me to make a plan to get it back to us. Sharon dropped it off Thursday and Michael drove it down to us Friday morning to Horshoe Bend. He wanted to make sure it was in the right hands. He even gave my father in law a shirt from the shop. This bag was very special to the family as he had items from his father and items from when his son was a child. Michael deserves business at his shop. He showed his kind heartedness and determination to give us the bag back. Thank you Michael, we will be in your shop soon.

The nostalgia with this place is the locker rooms are extremely run down and don't accommodate well for the female hockey player. There is a "woman's only" locker room but changing with your co-ed team is way more fun. These locker rooms feel like my middle school locker room which was basically in a dungeon and from the 60's. I do appreciate character though and strangely I am fond of that rundown locker room memory. From the naked public skater eye, this is a great establishment to have in such a small town. From a hockey eye, this is still a great establishment, upgrades could be thought about though. I love rinks in general so this one is worth a visit when you make it to town! We read that this one had flush toilets and showers and we managed to reserve campsite #184 right near the facilities. We arrived a little after 1:00 and got set up right away. We went in the middle of the week right before Memorial Day so it wasn't full. Everyone had an RV and I only saw one other family tent camping. We bought the $5/bundle firewood which came with about 5 logs and it was enough for a few hours. I assume RV'ers bring their own! We hiked by the lake and the views are beautiful, there's even a little beach area. Pets are not allowed on the sand but you can bring them as long as they're leashed. The restroom/shower facilities were spotless but they close for cleaning from 1-2:30 daily. See my photos. Only 2 showers were open this time of the year, so it's best to go early in the evening. I ended up waiting about 15 minutes before a shower opened up. Unfortunately, it started raining in the middle of the night and the tent started leaking, so we cut our trip short and packed up at 0600. We only got to hang out for less than a day but it was still worth it to see the lake and scenic drive.
