The scramble itself was a blast, and the chili cook-off contest afterward was the perfect way to end the day. The course is beautiful and well maintained, with 18 scenic holes, a driving range, short game area, and pro shop. They also offer lessons, fun tournaments, and a great bar and restaurant with an outdoor patio, the perfect spot to relax after your round. Located near the Idaho-Oregon border, you even get the occasional small plane flying overhead from the nearby airport, which adds to the laid back, small town charm. The smell in the air of the pine and forest are worth every penny. Each room has a private deck with table and chairs overlooking the forest behind the lodge. Inside the main lodge is beautiful and clean, with a pool table and games upstairs. They also have cabins for rent and an entire house for larger groups. The cost is better than the hotels in town, and for the privacy and quiet, this is the only experience worth paying for. But if you need something, town is only a couple minutes drive. My sweety and I spent our evenings during by the pond, listening to the fountain and looking at the stars. The people here have been incredibly polite, friendly, and as helpful as you could ask for. I understand that ownership has changed hands in recent months, so don't give any heed or negative reviews. These people are not the same. Fantastic place! We HIGHLY recommend staying here. Right out the gates is a short, testy, hard dog leg left that really has you thinking about your club selection. Followed by a long par three and a blind downhill par 4. Then you can settle in a bit. There are a lot of parallel fairways and not a whole lot of signs to help direct you where the tee boxes are so bring a golf app and keep your eyes open cause there isn't any GPS on the carts either. Most of the fairways were in good condition. And the greens were average speed, and some were very narrow. Although they didn't have a cart girl and one of the two water stations was empty, the course layout does bring you back to the club house a couple times on the front and back to refill on beverages and hydrate. Be careful if you're playing blues on 18, it's a steep dirt path up and you'll almost certainly slip and fall on the way down.

Carts should have sand so we can fill in fairway patches as needed, didn't see any before teeing off. Nice beverage selection, timber dogs are always hittin' ($5...can't beat it), and plenty of ice to go around. We finished in just over 4 hours so a great pace for a mid morning Sunday start. She was screaming and I was desperately trying to lift this 400 pound machine off of my daughter while screaming for help. Thank god my 6 foot 4 brother in law ran and tip it up so we could pull her out. Her leg was bruised but thank god not broken. The guid's response? "Oh, that happens all the time. They're built to tip over." WHAT?? Stunned at her cavalier attitude I'm like, "so this is a normal experience on your trips? Do you think you should do anything differently so this doesn't happen?" She's like "I feel like you're attacking me - we did everything right." No, Perry, you didn't. The safety prep was so inadequate - you never told my daughter to keep her legs on the metal footrests (I didn't know to tell her!) nor did you explain how often they tip and what to do. And this is what haunts me - after we'd been riding 30 mins I HAPPENED TO ASK if I should pin the kill switch to my jumper. Court, the male guide (who was super kind) said "oh yeah! That's important so if you fall off the vehicle stops." Friends, had I not had that on, my daughter might not have her leg. What a different experience that would have been if they had adequate safety training. "Hey these tip a lot - so here is how to safely fall so you don't get pinned. Oh if someone tips other people need to rush and help them tip back up. And here's the kill switch you must attach to your person so the vehicle stops when you fall. And kids, keep your feet on the metal footrests because if you dangle your legs bellow them your leg will get pinned." I will say I spoke to guest relations and they were very kind. Just empathy - they still charged us the 1k for the trauma, but I did feel like they really listened and took my suggestion of giving the guides a physical checklist to go over like pilots do before flights. Like I totally get that mistakes happen, but own them. Do better next time. Care if your families have a good time or a terrible time.
