    Butternut Squash Ravioli
    Amanda P.

We came here for an early Valentines Day dinner with my partners parents and the food was great. We weren't expecting this menu since the email we received was for Mexican food but still delicious. I can confidently say every dish was great because I helped to finish all of them. We had two white bean and kale soups, two beet salads, two butternut squash raviolis, one lobster with wild rice and asparagus and one halibut on risotto with asparagus. For desert we all shared a piece of their Ventine's Day special cake. We were all very happy with our meals and the service. The only thing that keeps this restaurant from a five star experience for us was the noise level. It was a pretty full house and we could barely hear eachother over the noise. All in all I would recommend it but maybe not for an intimate night out.

The perfect ceremony site at Jug Mountain.

Prime rib was good and reasonably priced. Very nice outside eating area. Service was good even with a large party nearby.

But I can expertly judge the scenery, staff and cart riding shenanigans. We went on a perfect 70 degree Saturday afternoon. We rented a cart, which cost us $28 each. We also needed a set of clubs, balls and 4 beers. The staff took pity on our obviously clueless selves and gave us an excellent discount on the clubs, filled a cooler with ice for us and wouldn't even accept a tip. Altogether our afternoon of fun cost $76. If my husband can't call himself a golfer, than I can't even call myself a spectator. By the end of our adventure, my sweet, patient, non-competitive man was quietly suggesting that I just use this as putting practice. :) I think my average stroke was 13. Haha! But we still had an absolute blast. The carts are gas powered and zippy and the course was gorgeous. It is located right along Lake Cascade with snow capped mountains as the back drop. There were a lot of hills, trees and sand traps (hence my embarrassing average). Nonetheless it was a glorious afternoon filled with beautiful weather, golf innuendos, and a few moments of panic that the cart was going to tip. ‍

She was screaming and I was desperately trying to lift this 400 pound machine off of my daughter while screaming for help. Thank god my 6 foot 4 brother in law ran and tip it up so we could pull her out. Her leg was bruised but thank god not broken. The guid's response? "Oh, that happens all the time. They're built to tip over." WHAT?? Stunned at her cavalier attitude I'm like, "so this is a normal experience on your trips? Do you think you should do anything differently so this doesn't happen?" She's like "I feel like you're attacking me - we did everything right." No, Perry, you didn't. The safety prep was so inadequate - you never told my daughter to keep her legs on the metal footrests (I didn't know to tell her!) nor did you explain how often they tip and what to do. And this is what haunts me - after we'd been riding 30 mins I HAPPENED TO ASK if I should pin the kill switch to my jumper. Court, the male guide (who was super kind) said "oh yeah! That's important so if you fall off the vehicle stops." Friends, had I not had that on, my daughter might not have her leg. What a different experience that would have been if they had adequate safety training. "Hey these tip a lot - so here is how to safely fall so you don't get pinned. Oh if someone tips other people need to rush and help them tip back up. And here's the kill switch you must attach to your person so the vehicle stops when you fall. And kids, keep your feet on the metal footrests because if you dangle your legs bellow them your leg will get pinned." I will say I spoke to guest relations and they were very kind. Just empathy - they still charged us the 1k for the trauma, but I did feel like they really listened and took my suggestion of giving the guides a physical checklist to go over like pilots do before flights. Like I totally get that mistakes happen, but own them. Do better next time. Care if your families have a good time or a terrible time.

This one unfortunately in Wallowa County. Brought my friends home to bachelor party in the county. Show them the local spots, summit mount Sacajawea and then have a good afternoon golf session at Alpine Meadows. We made it one hole before we turned back to the club house and demanded a $170 dollar refund. We called last week to get a tee time, set for 12 & 12:30, we came in early to give us a bigger cushion for a party of 5. We were told to split, so we did. Group of 3 & 2. Despite playing on schedule, on hole two in the middle of the fairway one of my party members was in the middle of his practice swing when the marshal, JD, rolled up in his cart and during the practice swing yelled "just hit the damn ball." (Loud enough for me to here on the tee box of 2, waiting to hit.) - apparently being on hole 2 at 12:20 with a 12:30 tee off time was too slow. My party member topped the ball and JD followed it up with "have you ever played before." Immediately this was followed by a verbal confrontation and attack from JD that resulted in us declaring "We're just here trying to have fun" "Well you're not making it fun." - JD We immediately went to the club house to get a refund knowing that the experience of the golf course is not about the golfers but the staff of the course, apparently. We failed to get a full refund after one hole but thankfully were able to get a partial refund. I'm disappointed that this experience does not represent the Enterprise and Wallowa county that I know.

One star for employee attitude and miscommunication. We cannot speak for the golf course itself…read morebecause we were denied an opportunity to play on it. We planned to golf on a Friday evening for the twilight rate (after 4 PM) while we were visiting town for the weekend. This was the only day that we could do it because there was a scheduled tournament for the remainder of the weekend - where the course was closed to the public. We confirmed the pricing information and the tournament dates on their website, which most people do in the 21st century. When we showed up just after 4 PM, an employee behind the desk seemed annoyed that we walked in. When we asked to play nine holes for the twilight rate, his response was just a blunt "uh, no. Are you here for the rat race?" I responded, "Is that the tournament? I thought that didn't start until this weekend?" He said, "Nope. We closed at 3:00." When I reminded him that their website had different information, he responded with "well, things change." Even though he reluctantly allowed us to hit balls on the driving range, he offered zero incentives to return (i.e. voucher for discounted rates, etc.). He also kept a close eye on us through the rear window as if we were going to tee off on the course anyway. There were very few golfers actually playing on the course. The awkward experience made us feel that we were not welcome at this course and as a result, it is very unlikely that we will return. This is unfortunate, as it looks like a beautiful course to play at.
