So glad to have found this place on a camping trip to Ponderosa Campground! A professional business with extremely knowledgeable and experienced staff. I had the pleasure of having Baileigh as my guide on a solo trek to the viewpoint. Was like taking a ride with a great friend, and was the most fun I had on my trip to McCall. With a passion for horses that can not be measured combined with many years of experience, I always felt that I was in capable hands on the trail. Some of the best things come in small packages! My horse, Timmy, had a gentle temperament, and was very well behaved. Taking a horseback ride like this takes you back to a much simpler time that is both relaxing and exhilarating; quite a rare combination! Sky was able to fit me in without a reservation, since I had not known about the place in advance, and was very accommodating on short notice. Be sure to reserve in summer though! After having such a great experience, I plan to return to take a ride into a simpler time on each visit to McCall for camping! read more

The staff here are so friendly and casual! Before my ride I was able to pet all the horses, get their names, and take photos. The experience was very pleasant, and the horses were all very well behaved! The staff are careful, kind, and conversational. An important detail to me is how well the animals are treated in these kinds of facilities. You can tell immediately how much they care for these animals. They are well looked after and understood. It is clear how well they are cared for, and the staff know so many details about each horses' personality and favorite treats, which horses they get along with, their health conditions etc. This ranch is full of love. I recommend this for any beginner riders. The trail isn't rigorous or difficult, the horses are so polite and easy-going, and above all the pace is perfect for new riders. The atmosphere was fun and safe! My party did the 1 hour and 30 minute trail ride and we felt it was a pleasant length. They offer longer rides as well for those looking for a more in depth experience! We were able to give the horses treats at the end and get to know their personalities through the ride. I love animals, and these people are truly passionate about their work. Would recommend to anyone who is considering. We were able to see the lake in the distance at one point during our trail, the view is beautiful. Most of the trail is forest, lush greenery, wild flowers. Peaceful ride. Wear jeans not leggings ideally, bring some hand sanitizer, and it may get a little dirty! read more

My girlfriends & I had a fantastic time on our 1.5hr ride.! Our ride included a variety of vegetation, water views, a sm bridge, a water break (for horses) & an excellent guide (Zoe was fab!) I was very impressed with the whole process- from the responsiveness of scheduling to payment to the ride to the info on all their many horses (these horses are very well cared for, as demonstrated by the older years on many of the horses... multi breeds are represented & info about the area as well as a plethora of types of rides... can't go wrong booking with this great co! My girlfriends & I plan to come bk to do the wagon rides, longer rides & bbq options! The prices were very reasonable, the staff are all longer term & are well trained... & thry will even accommodate allergy needs (Ie gluten & dairy free, vegetarian) I would recommend for new or experienced & young to older! With as well trained as they are, & the (regular sized) porta potty bring available- I bet they could accommodate various accessibility needs if given notice. (Parking is large open & flat lot, & all 3 of us gals had various minor accessibility needs that were handled with grace. Just lowered my review one star based on the disingenuous response from my initial review. I also attached the call logs from both my cell phones covering the time frame in question. No calls from your business which would be present even if my voicemail box was full. To be busy, not interested or in need of the work, or to simply have forgotten to return my calls is understandable; a poor business model but absolutely understandable. However, to reply and be dishonest in the response is in poor taste. You could have alleged cell phone issues prevented our connection and left it at that. But to be dishonest and say my voicemail was full is bs. My profession requires me to be reachable 24/7 so I always have two phones on my person and my voicemail box has never been full. Do better in future endeavors and avoid appearing dishonest. read more

Ya-Hoo Corral is under new ownership and this place has turned it around. The new owner contacted me about the bad experience we had with the previous owner and asked that we give Ya-Hoo another chance. While we were a little apprehensive, she had been the guide on our last tour and we really liked her so gave it shot. My wife and daughter went out for a 90 minute ride today and my other daughter went on a pony ride while we waited. All of the staff were extremely friendly, locals to McCall, and animals were very gentle with my young girls. I'm a fan, my family had a great time today, check this place out if you are in McCall. read more

Wow! What an amazing ride with Sky. We did a private tour for an hour and a half, it was well worth it. We did a 5:30 pm ride and loved every minute of it. Would do this every year we visit McCall!! read more

Best time ever! Guide (Shelby) did an amazing job. We did the tour and bbq after. We felt very comfortable with the trail and horses. Definitely would recommend. The owner cooked the spread of food that was amazing! We had salad, vegetables, steak, beef franks, chicken, brussels sprouts, potatoes, mac and cheese, garlic bread, pineapple and cookie s'mores. We were lucky enough to get a last minute private 1.5 hour ride. Sky is super friendly and the horses had the best temperament of all the places we've been over the years. Super chill ride in the mountain with a stop at a lake lookout and picture. No snacks or water on the shorter rides, so be prepared for that. There is a portable potty at the office. Adopt a kitten after your ride, if you want. We'll definitely take another ride in the future! Side note: They are the only place that does rides in the area. read more

Family Vacation to McCall half of our family decided we wanted to go horse back riding so we choose this place. We picked hour and a half ride and had 9 people. It's kinda hidden where it's at but in beautiful location with lush trees and great views. They assigned us horse and very very briefly told us how to ride them. (Most people in our group have never road a horse or haven't for awhile) we didn't get to pick the order our horses so my husband was way at the front and me at the back which made my riding experience little less enjoyable since we kinda wanted to do this together. Our horses were tail and tail the whole time. If one of our horses got a little off track the guide in the back would freak out (she wasn't very friendly) our trail ride ended up really bring about a hour. They started at 3pm but took us about 15 minutes get all saddled up and we got back about 4:15 pm. When we finished up our ride no thank you for coming or anything. You would think they would have been more friendly paying $47 a person and $423 for our whole group but guess not. Won't be back. read more

While visiting family in Idaho, I arranged for our group of 8 to take a horseback trail ride for fun near McCall ID, specifically for my three boys (9, 7, 5) who love horses, but rarely have the opportunity to ride. We opted for the evening trail ride of about 2 hours followed by a campfire BBQ (steak, chicken, beans and s'mores). We all really enjoyed ourselves, and both Cheryl and our guide were a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating. My only advice would be to bring hander kerchiefs for your group, as the trail was very dusty especially for those near the back of the pack. We booked a group ride for a group of 16 year old girls. The ride lasted about two hours, was very scenic and very relaxing. The group had very little experience riding horses which was worrisome initially but was put to ease within minutes on the trail. The horses were very calm & well trained. We had a couple guides on the trip with us, they were extremely calm, friendly, and experienced. When we reached the top of the hill for a viewpoint break, they had cupcakes waiting for the group for our 16yr old's birthday. I really can't say enough positive things about Ya-hoo, I would highly recommend them to anyone visiting the McCall area looking for activities. read more

In response to the owners comment. I am the wife of Matt R. My daughter and I rode on Sunday on horses Alabama and shady. See the pic below- that place look familiar? I could give details about the girl that took us for the trail ride, she was very sweet. I met a man working there whose brother lives in Dallas. After our nice experience on that day, we confirmed our previous reservation to ride the next Wednesday. My daughter and I even picked out our horses to ride, Bud and Smokey. My 4 yr old Younger daughter also took a pony ride that same day as well. For the owner to claim we weren't there is ridiculous! We can show you the credit card charge. That Tuesday (2 days later), I called to ask to change our Wednesday reservation to Thursday. She had no recollection of us being there and was a little rude until she then found our reservation on a piece of paper. I also reminded her that we had just been there 2days prior. We showed up at 3 on Thursday at 3, our reservation time. She was dismissive, rude, and never apologized to my 7 yr old whom was devastated. I literally have never been treated so poorly with regard to customer service. My husband was upset, but it was the owner that told him to F- off, really? For what it's worth, I have never written a critique on any restaurant or business establishment in my life, but I feel this should be shared. I am also a physician. I seriously feel that this lady has some type of dementia or psychiatric disorder. I also would never lie or mislead about an experience that I had. Thanks for listening and stay away. read more
