Mother Earth was kind enough to seep 116 degree water from a natural spring located approximately 19 miles Northeast of Cascade, Idaho on Warm Lake Rd.
Man was kind enough to build rather nice soaking pools beside Trail Creek, allowing the user to mix the hot spring water with the cold snow melt until the temp suits them just right.
Please respect both!
Trail Creek Hot Springs can be found down a short, but steep, 60 yard trail. If you're lucky, you'll have your choice of either of the two rather nice soaking pools that have been made using rock and mortar. When I got there today, the lower pool was a cool 100 degrees while the upper pool was a toasty 106 degrees... although, either can be heated or cooled to suit you. The upper pool actually has a built in petcock valve allowing for easy adjustment of cool water intake. The lower pool uses a PVC pipe which must be raised or lowered with rocks to adjust cold water intake. Both pools are also approximately 2 feet deep, allowing almost full body submersion while seated.... If you've experienced other hot springs, you know sometimes they can be rather shallow.
A word of caution though.... you will be SUPER relaxed and the 2 hour drive back to Boise will seem like forever! read more
