As soon as everyone heard a falafel, gloves changed and utensils swapped, the fact they caught on to a vegetarian so quickly was awesome, all sauces offered with no by product as well! I had lunch at Osmow's and it was great. I went right at noon, so the food was hot and fresh. I love how they have Daily Specials for $10.99 which has a protein on rice with salad. They also have an Everyday Special which is also $10.99 and is Chicken Shawarma on rice with salad. They call it "Medium Chicken on the Rocks with salad." "On the Rocks" for them means on rice. They also have "On the Stix" which is on French Fries. I debated between getting the Monday Special (Beef Kofta on rice with salad) or the Everyday Special. I ended up going with the latter. I asked for the salad dressing on the side and for them to go easy on the sauce because I don't like it too saucy. They accommodated and the amount of sauce was just right for me. Actually, I initially asked for the sauce on the side so I could control the amount of sauce and they said there was an extra charge for sauce on the side, so that's when I said, nevermind, just go light on the sauce, lol. The chicken was plentiful, tender and moist. I liked that it wasn't gristley or fatty. The rice was a bit on the dry side, but I didn't mind that. It wasn't greasy, which I appreciated. The salad was fresh and consisted of iceberg lettuce (not my favourite, but at least it was crunchy), cucumbers, tomatoes and green peppers. I ended up not using any of the salad dressing, so I'll just say no dressing next time. Portion size was good. I loved that it came in a cardboard box and not styrofoam. I chose the non-spicy option, but they have mild, medium, hot and extra hot, which refers to the amount of hot sauce they drizzle on top. It was loud in there, so it was a bit difficult for the cashier to hear me and for me to hear her. Plus we're in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic, so we were both wearing masks and there was plexiglass separating us which affects sound. Good amount of food for a large appetite. The mild spice was hotter than expected. Its more like a medium heat. Rice was pretty dry as expected but a tad bland but the garlic sauce and hummus mixed nicely to moisten each bite. Lamb was on the dryer side but tasted nice. I would recommend this middle eastern restaurant regardless because I am enjoying it as a late night supper. Nothing is off putting at all and I would order from here again. Thank you! read more

We started our day late and ended up eating dinner late as well. We ordered Osmow's for delivery, a restaurant I remember from when I lived in Mississauga that has since expanded to Ottawa. It has a $4.99 delivery fee to us, which we found to be more expensive and others and, to be honest, also why we've been deterred from getting it before. We thought we'd try it out this time. An hour and 20 minutes later, we finally got our order. We called and texted to check on status after an hour and 10 because we originally got a 29-49 minute estimate. We got a Chicken on the Rocks, chicken shawarma, fattoush salad, and fries. The shawarma was supposed to come with a can of coke, and also extra garlic sauce and hummus that my husband ordered on the side. We didn't get these items and the all of the food came cold. My husband enjoyed his chicken shawarma wrap. Just a warning that he didn't expect it to be so spicy ordering medium heat, but then again, he also added hot peppers, so that's on him. Still, he thought it was really good. Chicken on the Rocks is what they're known for, which is really just carved shawarma meat on rice with garlic sauce and hot sauce on top. It's been a long time since I've had chicken shawarma with rice, so it was a really nice change. For all you Ottawans, this isn't the garlic sauce you're used to. It's far less potent, much smoother and creamier almost like mayo, and has a touch of sweetness. Don't expect to get the toum you typically get at Lebanese shawarma spots around town. They cover the top of the chicken and rice completely with it, so it's a pretty rich-tasting dish. As for the hot sauce, it's more like one liquid spice than a bunch of blended flavours. I like spicy food and eat it often, and found it had a good amount of spice, so keep that in mind if you order hot or higher. All good together and pretty much how I remember it from over a decade ago. The fries were really soggy and cold, so that one was a total waste. The salad had almost no flavour, which was really disappointing for a fattoush. There was also a random cheese curd in my salad, but no complaint there. Because the order was so late, the pita chips were already starting to get soggy. We could've done without the fries and the salad, but the chicken dishes were pretty tasty. It's really a huge shame that it took as long as it did and came cold, since it probably would've been a lot better hot or at least warmer. I'm sure we'll eat here again, but for us, takeout might be better than delivery. read more

This place wasn't terrible. I did the chicken half & half (with rice & fries) with medium heat. The rice was ok, a little bland, fries were really good. Chicken was also pretty good. They really load up the dish with sauce on top though, and I'm not a big sauce girl. So next time, I would order just the chicken with fries and sauce on the side. Hubby did the lamb Osmow box with salad. These were pretty big portions and the chefs there were really friendly. read more

I love coming to this Osmows. I find this location is a bit busier, but the staff are a lot more careful (less rushed) with the food, so it is never incorrect. I always order my sharwarma here because there are many different levels of spice. I warn you - their hot is HOT. They have two levels above that, which I do not even want to imagine. The staff are polite and efficient and the store is neat and clean. We ordered a large Shawarma and it is a shawarma that is made with two pitas (so pretty much you're ordering two sharwamas!). Their chicken is delicious and crisp and their sauce tastes so good. The only downside is that with the larger shawarma, there is a lot of of pita bread, and since they grill it, only parts of the pita get baked and hot. I wish they were a bit more generous with their filling considering how much pita there is. The pita to filling ratio is off, as there was much more pita than there was filling. Still tasty. I also ordered the shawarma poutine (which I had never had before) and it came as a normal poutine, but then chicken shawarma meat went on top, then their white sauce, and then a bit of spicy sauce. It was very good. I think I got a bit too much white sauce, as I couldn't really taste the gravy, but the combination of the curds (when I got some), chicken and shawarma sauce was very delicious. Again, I wish they would have been more generous with the fries and cheese curds as there weren't very many. The food is delicious and of good quality, looking forward to trying it out next time I am out in that area. read more

Food is good. I ordered the lamb shawarma since it seemed to be the special of the day, and being promoted by posters pasted all over the store. And, it's not often you see lamb being offered by the typical shawarma place. The layout of the place is a bit confusing for a first time customer. 2 people behind the counter doing their thing. I stood 6 feet back from the counter, looking up at the menu boards, waiting to be acknowledged. Nothing. Eventually I figured out where to stand to place my order. I still had to wait a few minutes to be noticed. I thought to myself "do you want my business or not?" Popeyes is a few steps away......... Finally placed my order, and paid. Got my sandwich a few minutes later. The food was warm, the service was still cold and impersonal. Eating it in the car, I enjoyed what I was tasting. I'll go back if I'm in the area, but I doubt I'll make a special trip. I can tolerate average food with feeling welcome and appreciated. But when it's reversed, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I have been having Osmows for 3 days straight! my first experience was excellent! the proportion of salad, meat and rice was perfect! the next day I ordered one from Bayshore through Uber eats, unfortunately, the food was not as good as when it was first served, the salad was not as fresh and the meat and rice did not have enough sauce in it. today, the salad and sauce has been less, kind of made it taste a little dry. I have been coming back for their Oz box beef, unfortunately, I have been disappointed. The beef Saj on the other hand is amazing! no complaints! also, I have to mention their amazing staff! very friendly! especially, Megah! all in all I would still recommend Osmow's! read more

The shawarmas are probably the worst I've ever had. They just taste like how old socks smell, and I just don't know why. I suppose the vegetables are not that fresh, especially the pickled turnips which always taste off and feel limp rather than crunchy. Also the beef is usually dry. I do like their jumbo size option though for when I want volume and don't really care about the taste of the food that I'm eating. And props for offering Beyond Meat vegan options. read more

I like trying new things without putting much stake into too many reviews. My family and I just tried Osmows( College Square)and we're left with disgust. It was cold, tasteless and it didn't resemble any chicken or beef I would ever eat again......Not to mention the Pita had Mold on it. We couldn't eat another bite. Me and my friend heard about how bad this place is but we really wanted to try it for our selves. Let me just say it was a hugeeeee regret and never ever again. It took so long to be served and when we were we asked for fresh chicken yet when we're watched them prepare our food that took forever btw we saw them scooping out chicken bits from a pan not the actually meat wheel. We sat down to eat our food and we were so disappointed. One of the sauces that we didn't even ask for was basically salty mayo and another one that just tasted bitter. We both felt sick after our food even though I basically just had a chicken salad. We had so much chewy fatty pieces of chicken that I had to spit out. Got the chicken on the Stix with the extra spicy sauce. The house sauce, meat, and fries were great but the spicy sauce tasted like raw paprika, like it wasn't cooked enough. Overall would order again but a different sauce. read more
