I finally decided to check this place and I'm glad I did. Starting with the the parking, a few of us missed the entrance for parking as it's hidden. The parking is located at the rear of the building and on busy night there limited spots. Once you enter, there are stairs for dinning and to use a washroom therefore the restaurant is not fully accessible. There are booths which provide privacy for more intimate setting, chandeliers, cultural decorations, juice & tea station. There is a prayer area in the basement. The overall ambiance was lovely. We decided to get the family platter, the filet mignon was abounds delicious, cooked to perfection the meat melts in your mouth. The chicken shish taouk was flavourful all of it paired well with the seasoned rice (with pine nuts). The salad had ample amount of tangy dressing. I highly recommend ending the night with tea pot. That itself was an experience. Mohamed our server was pleasant, he was very attentive, provided suggestions, showed us how to pour the tea. The food arrived in a timely manner. I highly recommend reserving a table as most weekends they are full.

A group of foodies explore the happening restaurants if Ottawa every week . A group of 12 checked out pita bell kebab for dinner I will quickly dive into pros and cons Pros 1. Ambience : staying true to the theme the interior and decor transport you right into Turkish and middle eastern art . You feel different here . It's successful in imparting an authentic feel 2. Space : multiple booths available for large groups and small tables 3. Reservation : very prompt and attentive , run by a group of young girls they are very prompt 4. Serving : the utensils and plates are either copper or alt metal to highlight the authentic factor 5. The dishes : yumm yumm yumm . The group concurs that out of all my 12 foodie meetups until now in Ottawa this was their fav Cons 1. Parking : limited space , real struggle. You can try Canadian tire or strip malls next door 2. Table service : it gets busy Now to the dishes We tried the family platter the filet mignon was juicy but the highlight was the rice which was rich in ghee and nuts ,very flavorful . And we were so glad we ordered the Turkish pide too crisp airy overall mind blowing . Loved the garlic side as well . The filet mignon and Kunafa are must tries here .

Food taste amazing will come again love the restaurant fast service overall 10 out of 10 restaurant I consider coming again

I cannot get enough of this place! The food is really tasty. The beef is my personal favorite, so much flavor. Its the best place to go in groups as they have different size family platters !! The platters also come with complimentary salad, garlic sauce and hummus. Another thing that I love about this place is the decor! Very authentic and clean! Can't wait to go back and have some Knafa

I'm sure you can tell from my photos that we had an absolute feast! I will address the four stars right from the get go.... the service is kinda meh. The restaurant is understaffed and the servers aren't really well organized. Now let's get to the food.... The sausage pide was so delicious, the bread was so light and airy and the toppings were flavourful. They serve it with garlic sauce that really elevated the flavour. We ordered the large platter which would feed about 4-5 people. The meats were perfectly cooked, tender, well spiced and they actually use a charcoal grill so the flavour is incredible. The rice has nuts and raisins, is cooked perfectly and compliments the meats really well. Plan on taking some rice in a take out container - it should carry you through another meal at home. The tea comes in an elegant pot and little cups. It was a little cumbersome to pour at the table because the concentrated tea is in the upper boiler and the hot water in the lower one - almost like a mini Iranian Samovar. The kanafeh is AMAZING!! I think they make it in house because it tasted so fresh. It wasn't overly sweet but just hit the spot after the meal. If you are going with a group, order a tray as it will work out cheaper than the individual portions. Happy eating!

The filet-mignon beef dish with hummus and garlic-sauce on the side. Very tasty and super filling!!

I have eaten twice now at Pita Bell (Carling near Maitland in Ottawa). The food at this family-run Turkish and Middle-eastern restaurant is among the best in the city and I highly recommend a visit here if you are hungry. While you might have to wait a few minutes for your meal, what arrives is impressive in terms of amount and taste. First, the main dishes all come with a side of hummus with olive oil as well as a side-dish of garlic dip -- both of these were fresh, tasty and very creamy. The side salad-greens were fresh and the rice was light and had a few delicious raisins or toasted-almond slivers. They also offer very interesting small pita wedges: they are baked into harder shells, but inside, filled with a spicy creamy sauce, herbs and slivered onions -- unique and delicious!! And the meats (I tried the lamb-chops as well as the filet-mignon beef) were grilled very nicely: lots of taste, and still quite juicy. And we also tried their large Turkish pita offerings (some might call this Turkish pizza, since the appearance is somewhat similar). This is freshly-baked dough with meat, cheese toppings and black seeds. The aroma of this dish is very inviting and the taste does not disappoint. Also worthy of note were two small details: on one of our visits, on a cold day, we were offered a small bowl of lentil-like soup at the start; and on one of the counters in the restaurant, they had a large dispenser where you could pour yourself (at no extra charge) a cup of hot black cardamom tea. This is an amazing feature, because a cup of hot tea feels just right after such a large and tasty meal!! I know that I will be back to eat at Pita Bell --- and I hope that others enjoy their meals at that restaurant.

It used to be one my favorite restaurants, but lately food quality , quantity and dineout packaging went down the hill.I got burned food with expired homus, small portion/missing portion . customer service is absolutely bad and rude. They don't listen to complaints and keep repeating the same mistakes .. for example selling homus that is extremely old/expired and/or burned food.and then argue abt it and get very defensive. it's not the first time , everytime I think it improved and order again to discover it's even worse than before .

I went here with my dad today for lunch. My dad loves kababs so when I found out that this place near me just opened, I had to take him there. We both really enjoyed it. He had the Adana Kabab Plate ($11.95) and I got the Shish Taouk Sandwich Combo ($9.95). His plate came with 2 spicy ground meat kababs, salad, rice, hummus and a grilled pita. Mine came with a Shish Taouk sandwich, fries and a can of pop. My Shish Taouk Sandwich was great. The meat was chicken breast chunks and perfectly seasoned. It had a smoked flavour to it that I loved. They also put lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, pickled beets and a creamy sauce in the wrap. They grilled the wrap so it was hot and slightly crunchy on the outside. My fries were amazing. They were definitely fresh cut and not from frozen. They have the skins on and they were really crispy. There was seasonings sprinkled on the fries too! I had some of my dad's meal and while I liked it, I liked what I ordered better. His kababs were a little too salty for my liking. The rice was nice though. The rice is long grain rice with warm spices (smelled and tasted like it contained cinnamon, nutmeg and/or allspice). The salad was made of fresh ingredients. It was romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and red onions. There was a little pile of pickles on the side which my dad loved. We asked for the house salad dressing which we were told was made in-house. It was creamy and quite good. My dad's plate came with some pita bread on the side. This pita bread was different from the pita bread that was used for my sandwich though (the one for my sandwich tasted like the usual commercially prepared pita bread). This pita bread with my dad's meal was freshly made and more doughy. It was like a cross between a pita and naan. Both my dad and I thought it had a bit of a sour taste to it though. The slightly sour taste was not to my liking. However it was fluffy and soft and had a good texture. I was told the hummus is made in-house as well. The hummus was good - nice and garlicky. The staff there were very nice. They answered my questions about the menu items and even came and asked us how the food was part way through (it's not really a sit down restaurant, more like a fast food place, like the typical shawarma joints, so it was nice that they checked up on us). They thanked us for our business and encouraged use to visit their Facebook page where they apparently announce specials that they have. The place is new and very clean - including the washrooms. It's in a strip mall on Carling Ave. across the street from the Product Depot. There's some free parking but not too many spots. Oh and the meat here is halal. I like this place. I will be back.

I am sad to be coming back here to update my previous review. This restaurant used to be my favourite, but I can't say it still is now. The portions aren't as good as before, and the rice is served cold. The new staff don't know much, I asked for ground beef and got beef pieces? The presentation and setting are much nicer, I just wish the quality of the food matched it.

A buddy of mine who lives near by took me to the new restaurant in his 'hood. Just opened Aug 2015 this little gem is awesome for a great middle eastern dishes. Food is fresh and excellent, portions are great for the price and even the decor feels great. Service is warm and efficient. You are not gonna regret coming here.

    Nice place to go to..

Based on other reviews, especially Keith T.'s, I ordered the half grilled boneless chicken plate with Bokhari rice. The plate also comes with turnips, salad, hummus, and garlic. I decided to upgrade the salad to a fattoush salad, get an additional 2oz hummus and garlic sauce (I didn't know how big/small the ones would be that came with the platter), as well as 2oz of Ali's Hot Sauce and an additional Kabab Halabi skewer. The chicken was cooked perfectly, great char but still super moist. the hot sauce was very spicy. The fresh herbs and vegetables on the side were such a great pairing. The fattoush was good, especially with the extra crispy pita chips on top. I do wish, however, that plain rice was an option, as I actually didn't need flavoured rice and would've preferred plain. My husband ordered a chicken taouk wrap with garlic, lettuce, onion, and tomato, plus batata hara and a Coke Zero. I've never had fateh before and also wanted to try it because of Hadia G.'s review. I got a single order. It had freshly cooked chickpeas with a mix of yogurt and tahini on a bead of pita chips and topped with pine nuts. This was by far my favourite and I could eat it ALL DAY. My husband and I were obsessed. OBSESSED! It was warm and delicious, creamy but not super rich, and very flavourful rather than just salty. I swear it should be illegal to eat this many pita chips, but we just couldn't stop. This is a bold statement, but I think it's one of the top vegetarian dishes I've ever had. It's on the breakfast menu but is available all day. I got knafeh for dessert, also for the first time. It was nice and cheesy, and I expected it to be sweet, but maybe just a little too sweet for me. Since this was my first time trying fateh, I can't compare it to anywhere else, but I would absolutely order it again and again!

They sell Pide under the name Ottawa Kabab too, but bigger and more expensive, the ones I got are smaller. I got the meat one ($4.99 BOGO ) and the cheese and sausage one (also $4.99 BOGO). Both were delicious. The meat Pide was filled with ground meat. It was flavourful and smelled so good. The cheese and sausage Pide had lots of cheese and little cubes of sausage. It was tasty, but I preferred the meat one. Although my husband liked the cheese and sausage better, so I guess it depends on your tastes. At any rate, we both agreed that they were delicious. I ordered on UberEats for pickup. Staff were friendly and efficient. They even wrote "Thank you" with a smiley face on my takeout box, lol. The restaurant itself has some seating inside as well as a patio. The parking situation is the only downfall. There is free parking in front of the restaurant, but there are not too many spaces and it's very tight. Difficult to maneuver around. Street parking is available but not the easiest to find nor convenient. Glad this place popped up on my UberEats deals :)

Preamble: My previous review was for Laheeb Shawarma…read more Crispy Bites Shawarma took over the space that was Laheeb Shawarma and seems to have taken over its Yelp listing and Google Maps listing as well. I thought maybe it was just a rebrand, but I asked the man there when I went to pick up my food and he said it's new ownership. The handover happened sometime in 2025. Anyway, I feel the food is similar and my rating of 4 stars still stands. The Short Version: Syrian restaurant selling shawarma and broasted chicken. They also sell grilled meats but the grill was not working at the time of my visit. Food was good. The Long Version: My family and I were celebrating Family Day and Lunar New Year at the same time since they were only a day apart. I agreed to pick up food for the gang. We are a multicultural family and love cuisines of all cultures so I decided to get the Mega Family Meal at Crispy Bites Shawarma. This meal would have had skewers and charcoal grilled chicken along with a bunch of sides, but when I called to place my order for pickup, they said their charcoal grill was not operational. So I settled on the Shawarma Family Meal and the Broasted Chicken Family Meal. I got the Arabic Mixed Shawarma Family Meal ($67.80). This was chicken and beef shawarma sandwiches in Saj bread, cut into pieces. It came with pickled vegetables, fries, and garlic sauce. The sandwiches were good. I liked the thin Saj bread. There was a good amount of meat in the sandwiches. Fries were just from frozen and nothing special, other than a sprinkling of seasoning salt on them. My dad didn't like the garlic sauce here as he thought it was too sweet. I also got the 16 pieces Broasted Chicken Family Meal ($56.45). This came with pita bread, fries, coleslaw and garlic sauce. Broasted chicken is pressure-fried chicken, so it's less oily than traditional fried chicken and the outside is crispier and the meat is more juicy and tender. I liked the broasted chicken, although it was a bit too salty for me. The coleslaw had a creamy base, so I wasn't a huge fan since I prefer vinegar-based coleslaw. I also got 8 drinks with my order. I was thrilled to see they had Oasis Exotic Mango juice blend, so this is what I got for all my drinks. They also had Oasis Orange juice, bottled water and a variety of soft drinks, like Pepsi, Canada Dry and Fanta. Overall, I thought the food was good and it was a hit with the family. The wait was a bit long for the food. I called in my order at 11am when they opened and they said it would be an hour. However, when I arrived at noon, it was another 15-20 minutes before it was ready. The man there, who I think was the owner, apologized and said he was short-staffed as staff called in sick. He was nice though and helped me carry the food to my car. There are tables to dine-in. Ambiance is casual. Overall, I thought the food was ok. Even though I wasn't wowed, I'm willing to go back to try other items. Since I know nothing about Yemeni food, other than there's a dish called Mandi that is very popular, I had lots of questions for the server. She was very nice, but didn't really "sell the food" as the descriptions she gave me were "it's chicken with vegetables," "it's meat and vegetables in a sauce" and "it's lamb with rice." I mean, she could have been describing Kung Pao Chicken, Irish Stew, and Lamb Biryani, right? Lol. She was really nice, so I won't fault her, but the owner really should add some descriptions to the dishes, or some bigger and clearer pictures on the menu (the server did mention that they are printing new menus and will be adding the menu to their website). Anyway, I went with the Chicken Mandi meal ($15), because I figured it must be popular for a reason. I also asked for some water, and was a bit surprised when they brought me a bottle of water ($1) as I was expecting just a glass of tap water with some ice, but oh well, the water was cold, and I feel that $1 is an acceptable price for a bottle of water. The Chicken Mandi meal was half a chicken on a bed of basmati rice with some almonds and fried shallots sprinkled on one corner. It also came with a soup that was mostly broth with some tiny pieces of vegetables, and a salad that consisted of romaine lettuce, cucumbers and a wedge of lime. The soup came out first and it was very hot, which I appreciated. However, I prefer chunky soups with little broth, and this soup was mostly broth with little chunks, lol. The broth, was also a bit greasy/oily, which is not to my liking. It had mostly carrots, onions and bell peppers in it, which were very soft. The salad was fresh and I liked that it came undressed. It did have a sprinkling of spices on it, perhaps some sumac (?) I'm not entirely sure. There was a sauce on the side that looked like a salsa that was really spicy. I'm not sure if it was for the salad or the chicken. The chicken itself was so moist and tender. The meat pretty much fell off the bone. The flavour was mild though, I was expecting more punch to it. The rice had a cinnamon/nutmeg warm spice element to it. I enjoyed the chicken and rice, but expected more of a flavour zing to it. I don't know what these dishes are supposed to taste like, so I'm just basing this review on my own personal preferences, so take it for what it is. I took home the leftovers, as the meal size is more suitable for big hungry guys, lol. Bukhari Restaurant is where Pita Bell Kabab used to be, but Pita Bell now moved down the street to where Pocketz and Robz used to be (it was a 1000 Sushi Islands before that). Anyway, I have noticed that ever since Bukhari opened up the parking lot of the strip mall that they're in is a lot busier! So I think they are doing well. I'm glad to see that Ottawa has an appetite for more diverse food options. My suggestion for the owner is to have more descriptions of a dish on the menu and bigger and clearer pictures. Also to advise the staff to guide customers a bit more if the customer appears to be new to Yemeni cuisine. I'm looking forward to trying other items on their menu.
