It was one of her paintings, which I thought was ravishing! She explained to me that her merchandise and paintings are all handmade and exported from other fair trade vendors. I bought a $40.00 handmade journal that was made from eco friendly material and ended up enjoying the quality of the notebook's paper. The cover was definitely cooler than some of the other cheaper notebooks I found there too. The fitting room had the cutest door painting, the inside of the fitting room has a comfy bench and I think the floor is carpet. She has Peruvian jewelry and also candles that smell delightful. Programs include twelve art exhibits annually plus two resident artist studios, a ceramics studio, and a classroom. Admission to the galleries is always free and The Arts Studio provides extensive outreach to the community plus a regular program of classes for children and adults. Exhibitions mix solo and group shows including local, regional, and national artists. I've been visiting the Center for many years. I've found the exhibits to be of mixed quality, but that's inevitable given the mission of the organization. Today's visit involved some sort of used clothing sale which was a little confusing and made it difficult to see the current art exhibit.
