I didn't know what to choose so I just got chicken fingers but that double cheeseburger at the next table looked awesome so I'm getting that next trip. Oh, Oskar's - going here is part of my summer lake routine. My grandmother's lake cabin is just a few miles away and every time we go out there, I must head to Oskar's for some grub :) While they have all sorts of yummy things on their menu, my favorite is the chicken finger plate. Fries, one of the side salads and a squeeze bottle of their "special sauce". The chicken fingers are big and made fresh to order. The batter is just delicious and it is not the kind that is as thick as the chicken. The salad is a simple mix of shredded lettuce and onions and tomatoes, but it's one of my favorite things - this might be because of their awesome homemade ranch dressing (also served in a big squeeze bottle) and crackers - something about this just makes me devour it! Then...the special sauce. This is really my favorite thing. I'm a sucker for condiments and I love it when a restaurant gives you free rein on sauces. I always want to take one of those big bottles of sauce home with me :) Also good, the fried popcorn shrimp - they are HUGE! :) If I can bring myself to order other things than the chicken fingers, I'll review again. read more

Food is okay at best. Staff is very unfriendly and COVID is not and has never been a concern for the establishment even when they had to shut down due to half of the staff falling sick. read more

This place was fantastic! The menu has a little bit of everything- it was hard to choose! The Burger and onion rings were great and the country fried steak was the best we ever had! This place has a super casual, child-friendly atmosphere with smiling service - the way a local restaurant in Dadeville, Alabama should be. The food is good. I had a French Dip sandwich served with au jus for dipping. The beer battered onion rings are also good. By the way, this is not a place where people go to lose weight or live a healthy lifestyle. We are visiting from Texas and are dying to pick up Oskars and bring it back home with us. The cheese balls are a MUST- along with the homemade ranch dressing! I had the Philly sandwich- it's the best I have ever eaten! The meat was thinly sliced, tender, and FULL of flavor! My husband had grilled chicken breasts and I wanted to take my roll to soak up all the juice coming from his chicken. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Absolutely delicious.. Oskar's is a lake tradition. I have never had a bad meal here. The quality of the food is always good. The atmosphere is homey. Be aware that on Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons it can get quite busy, but you don't typically have to wait too long. If you did, your patience would be rewarded. read more

All I can say is 5 stars is a let down for a 10 star place to eat. You can have it all. Cheeseballs are the bomb. Hamburgers great. The whole menu is a winner. The whole family will enjoy themselves. Just left Dadeville a few days ago to head back home to VA Beach. Let me just say, best BBQ I've ever had! I've lived all over the place, and nothing quite compares, and not just the BBQ, but the rest of the menu is also wonderful. Hurts me Oscar's but you are slipping - nothing special my last two trips in. You better get back to customer service and great food or it could be a downhill slide. Even my 80 year old parents are becoming critical and said lets go to Niffers. You don't even seem to care about the T-shirts anymore. I used to love Oskars but the service has become sub-par. When you are told 15-20 minutes and you arrive at the twenty minute mark and still have to wait another 30 minutes for your food it's sad. This has happened several times lately. Fifteen minutes into the thirty minute wait, I get asked to confirm certain parts of my order. When I got my food it was cold and wasn't very appealing to have cold cheese balls. I hope they fix this soon or they will lose my business. read more

Oskar's is probably as good as it gets as far as deep fried Southern food is concerned. If you love chicken fried steak, you should definitely eat it here. I have seldom had a chicken fried steak where the meaty goodness hasn't been processed out. Though, I would ask for the gravy on the side, because it was a bit too salty for me. The fried okra was perfection. Seldom do you find a fried okra that holds onto the pepperiness of the okra when deep fried. The fried crab legs are awesome. Brunswick stew was probably the best I have ever had. The fried pickles were tart, crunchy and delicious. The catfish fry (fingers, fillet, or whole) is perfection with its lightly fried cornmeal coat. And last, but not least, is the chocolate fritters. I tried to decline, because there was just no more room in my stomach; however, after one bite of that crunchy fritter along with the warm chocolate and vanilla soft serve, I just couldn't stop. Hello 0 yes zero stars from me.. well to be honest with the high cost of lake living me and my husband do not treat ourselves to a night of dining out as often as we probably should so when we do go we definitely look forward to a nice experience. My first time to oskars I ordered 2 bbq sandwich plates to go and waited over 45 minutes to receive and felt overcharged only to get them home and find I had instead gotten bbq plates which are more costly it was good so I chalked up the extra due to me myself not doing a check of things, however last night I excitedly waited for my husband and our planned dinner date to Oskars only to be terribly let down our waitress came 2 times before the bill which was our drunk order and then our food order .. another young lady delivered our food and at this time I ask if I may have my salad I had ordered and never received. After 10 more minutes I received it ate my BP went into eat my steak only for the meat to taste completely rotten ..I thought perhaps it was just me as my husband was loving his dinner of choice nope he tried it somethings wrong he said. For 20 minutes I wait to get my servers attention to explain , needless to say she acted as if she had no clue what to do or say the red head I hear is suppose to be Oskar comes to the table offers to recook.. pffftt sorry but who when served rotten steak would like to be given more cooked anyway at all from the same place.. not to mention my husband's dinner was gone thus time to leave after our wait time. I told her I ate a few bites of my salad which was visible (since it came out late) / and my baked potato as I was hungry. She left table and sent waitress back with a bill of 36.81 or something close she charged me 4.50 for salad 3.00 BP 2.50 drink. Which is fine but I do think I should of been given the courtesy of I apologize. . Maybe even deducting the salad made of only lettuce and tomatoes that I barely touched due to arrival time.. she didn't even apologize.
