Not what I expected. Like a small grocery store that only sells cheese and meat. Very clean. Nice bathrooms. Plus parking.

If you like smoked meat, this is the place to go. In business in the same location since 1946. They have their processes down pat. We got a little lost finding Oscar's and ended up in the back parking lot. This was a lot for employees, and it was very full. Walk in and they have self-service coolers, or you can order from any of the numerous employees. We got applewood-smoked bacon and a bologna ring (my bad, I thought it was a kielbasa) We cooked both over an open fire at a campsite. The bacon was mouthwatering. The grilled bologna slices were also excellent. Very safe and customer-first store.

If you are within a 20 minute drive of Oscar's - you should get over here. I come here at least once a year. Besides all the amazing meats, their 7 year aged cheddar 'counter cheese' is absolutely to die for. This funky aged cheddar is rich, sharp and riddled with amazing tasty cheese crystals. It is fantastic and at $13.99 a pound, 100% worth picking yourself up at least a half a pound. Good luck getting it all home. I can't help but break into it as soon as I cash out and get into my car. (pictured) Another thing I really can't leave without is the Pickled Kielbasa. If it doesn't sound good to you, trust me, you will love it, as long as you enjoy a vinegar pickled flavor. Smoked meat is the name of the game here. I always try to get at least one item to take home for a future dinner, however it can get pricey. If I lived closer I would definitely come by often to pick up something special for dinner on occasion. For now, I'll just pick up some of my favorites when I'm lucky enough to be near by. Stop in - you will not regret it!

Hands down one of the best selections of meat and cheeses in the area. Came here to pick up a couple items to take home from vacation such as aged cheddar, cheese curds and some smoked meat. The only downside was felt a little rushed and the guys at the counter wasn't that friendly.

Dashboard dining in the Adirondacks: black forest ham sandwich with a half-pound of excellent cole slaw.

UPDATE: going to the full five sparklers on the basis of the smoked pork chops I brought home. Smokey, tender, pork-y, as good as it gets. Keep a few of these bad boys in the freezer (if you are not heavy meat eaters, one thick chop can serve two) and you are set for whatever hand you get dealt. Previous: Why my review is not a full five stars is that the prices are a bit high and the slick new place doesn't smell smoky like the old place that burned down a few years back. (Maybe that's why it smelled smoky?) If you order a sandwich they will ask you to choose a roll (ciabatta or french), meat and cheese, no vegetables available. I was more than happy with my black forest ham and swiss with "more mustard" that is spicier than hell. Pro tip: if you are not repulsed by innards, try the old fashioned head cheese... it's smoked! Also, speaking of pricing, the same meats are available in non-smoked versions at pretty fair prices. P.S. Since Oscar's is possibly the only reason you're passing through Warrensburg, take a sec to inspect the elaborately carved sign on the way into town from the Northway. The town's name is misspelled!

Just wanted to update because I took my semi annual trip this week. Their mustard and the wax paper wrapped bacon is the best I've ever had!

Great ham and smoked turkey. The bacon is not my favorite. Very salty. They had a really good 3 year cheddar. It didn't last the party.

Couldn't get to shop or purchase anything as the line of customers stretched throughout the store.

Ask the Community - Oscar's Adirondack Smoke House

Do they have kosher meat?

Sorry we do not!

Any recommendations.....or not, as even when I went to the store I do recall having to sort out packs of VERY fatty bacon? Would mail order/online be recommended? Not in the mood to receive a lump of fat and barely any meat in the bacon slab.

You can recommend lean bacon when you place the order, although belly bacon usually has a decent amount of fat by nature. Thanks, Oscar's

Do you deliver orders out of town?

Yes, we ship with UPS to the Northeast only right now, due to Covid. Thanks, Oscar's

Tender, flavorful, not excessively fatty...just delicious! Three different sauces are available for dipping or slathering, your choice. Located in Warrensburg, counter service with a few tables for dining in. The pictures around the place are great, the story about Mark is posted, very cute, bringing together the Adirondack and BBQ themes! We had pulled pork, brisket, cowboy beans, coleslaw, mac n cheese and of course French fries - if you know me, I have to try the fries! We got cornbread for Bob to try later. Everything was delicious, the meat was so tender and moist, what flavor! Coleslaw is vinegar based, which I wasn't familiar with but I will definitely get it again! Cowboy beans were yummy, they have pulled pork in them. I found them a little saucy, but still delicious! Mac n cheese and French fries were good, but the meat and Cole slaw stole the show for me! The meat didn't need sauce but of course we had to try! Carolina sauce was so good, a thinner sauce with a kick, I could probably put this on anything, maybe even drink it!! We also tried the crack sauce, a mustard based sauce and I can understand calling it crack! Lunch/dinner was $50 and we have enough for at least one more meal, possibly two. We will definitely be back!
