Upon entering the store, we both immediately looked at each other when we saw the condition of this place. The look said: "Are we really sure we want to do this?" It looks like it hasn't been updated in decades. Shabby, somewhat grimy, and just beat up. Fridge with the eggs inside was stained and dirty. Aisles are incredibly narrow, and we found ourselves getting jammed up when other customers were coming from the opposite way. We started to load our cart anyway, grabbing necessities. Prices weren't exactly chopped. Rather, things were pricey. Where it all went truly wrong was when we got to the meats. I intended to purchase fresh sausage and, to my surprise, none of it had ANY dates on it. Upon closer inspection, they had some frost of them, as if they had been frozen, thawed, and just put out. They were leaking fluids everywhere. I asked my wife to check for dates, and she could find none either. This was just scary. We put our items back and took the drive to Wal mart and were glad we did. Is this place good in a pinch? I guess so, if you're willing to roll the dice. Corner stores in the NYC area present better than this place.

Even if you are visiting for a week, it's worth to apply for their store card so you can get some savings along the way. Their deli department has a good selection, and during the week, they have discounted sandwiches made earlier in the day for $3.50! A great steal for planning a beach trip with the family the next day. The place itself is relatively clean, and the staff at the registers are helpful giving you service with a smile.

We went in there to get liquor as a group and placed all the liquor on the counter and we noticed a sign that stated healthcare workers discount. I am a certified EMT in NY.. so i proceeded to ask if i can show my certificate and explained i recently lost my wallet but had a temporary license from the DMV, a passport in hand, and my emt cert saved on my phone... the two nasty women proceeded to freak out over me asking about a discount they had put up in their store and stated pictures are unacceptable. Keep in mind i did not even hold or touch a liquor bottle even in this store as well. They then asked for my ID and i explained my situation and they started yelling and taking the liquor from us like children. Keep in mind i'm going to be 25 years old. They started saying to all my friends they cant purchase liquor bc of me even tho im the oldest... so i walked out that way they can make their purchase. They then kicked my friends out of the store and we drove 2 mins away to Rays Liquor and had wonderful service and they even accepted my EMT cert!
