The Lovers Roll was served so cute.

We tried Osaka for the first time after hearing so much about it. The service was good and the presentation of the rolls was really fun but it wasn't my favorite sushi in town. The restaurant was packed and I know a lot of people like that it's the only "All You Can Eat" sushi place in town, which makes it more affordable. I'd definitely go back there with friends but if I were choosing, it wouldn't be my first choice. The fish tasted a little "fishy" to me, which I know sounds funny but if you've had a lot of quality sushi, you'll know what I mean. Overall a good experience though and it's always good to have one more sushi place in town!

I just heard there was an all you can eat sushi place here in Redding. Normally, I gotta go to Reno or even Sac to get all you can eat sushi (AYCE). In Reno almost every place is all you can eat. I gotta say, once you've done all you can eat sushi for around $30 bucks, ordering ala carte and paying by the piece or roll is not the deal at all. Osaka Sushi here in Redding is located right off Churn Creek Road where it crosses over the 44 by the Food Max. Just head to the Food Max and go to the left of the building and it's at the end. Easy parking. Inside is very nice and modern. If you didn't know, all you can eat sushi is NOT a buffet where you pile on a bunch of premade sushi on a tray. No, IT's all made to order here and most all AYCE sushi places like in Nevada are made to order. There's a few rules that all these place have, like no wasting food at the end, only order what you're gonna eat or they'll charge you for wasted food. There's lunch and dinner options here. It's around $34 for the dinner, and that gives you full access to all the real good expensive stuff on the menu. Lunch is $26 and gives you the basic sushi rolls and nigiri, but not the premium stuff. You get a 2 hour limit as well, but I've never had to go that long before I was all stuffed and had to do the el stuffo waddle outta there. Service was quick and efficient, not like some places where they give slow service just so you don't eat as much! We ordered a bunch of nigiri orders. I like that the dinner price includes real sashimi orders (no rice) as well as more of the expensive cuts of fish or the soft shell crab. The Ikura (salmon caviar) was excellent and fresh. We just kept ordering till we reached our limit of tummy space. We were there for about 90 minutes, so nowhere the time limit. I'm glad to have Osaka Sushi in Redding, sure beats driving to Nevada ... especially in winter!

Here in Redding for a conference and was craving for AYCE sushi. The restaurant is clean and staff are very attentive. Their sushi tastes fresh and they are the perfect bite. I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of this restaurant. The parking is a bit challenging though but a little bit of a walk is worth it. I'd come back here when I am in the area.

Hey there Party People This was a real surprise..don't let the simple decode fool you. This place is wonderful. You can order off the menu or you can opt for the "all you can eat". You heard me right "all you can eat sushi" for a very affordable price. The quality was that of a top tier sushi house. If I lived in the area I would be there every week hands down. Be kind to one another

another great experience! Another chirashi bowl. Super fresh, salmon skin HR and Spicy Tuna HR. I had ikura also forgot to photo. I did do AYCE but maybe another time. Service is great and eating solo no issue. Sushi chef's and wait staff all super nice and appreciative.

    Takeout order.

What a surprise! Pretty good sushi in Redding. Easy on-line ordering, friendly staff, easy parking, gosh what more could you want. We ordered a spicy tuna roll, salad and gyoza. The gyoza didn't look hand made but everything else was great.

The ambience is ok for a strip mall location. We went in because my son really wanted to get sushi…read morefrom their circling boat/converoy belt service. They advertised the sushi boat service on their door, but did not have it during the time window they posted. I had no expectations for great sushi and thought I'd get "ok" sushi here. Instead, It was memorable only for how bad it was. The tuna (maguro) was awful. It was inedibly grainy and did not slightly spring back when touched with gentle pressure--the sign of either low quality fish, or lack of freshness. It is also the common bright pink gassed fish--not a sign of quality. I wouldn't feed this to my cat. I ate one piece of fish without rice. The texture was grainy and gross. I figure it was a fluke and tried another piece before spitting it out. Hard pass. The salmon roe sushi was also off, and inedible. The egg sushi was water-logged and not good. Finally, their chef does not know how to make proper sushi rice. The rice should be sweet with a hint of tartness, both in balance with the rice. No harmony here--it was just slightly tart. When I complained that it was inedible the server was suspiciously defensive insisting it was "fresh." If that's true, it was not good fish from a reputable vendor. If you want sushi and you're in Redding, go to Kobe or Raw.

Assistance + Balance +…read moreCleanliness + Deliciousness + Environment + Prompt kind professional service. Balance of quantity/quality to price is perfect. Restaurant and bathroom are clean. Food was delicious and fresh, which is hard to come by in this town for Japanese food. The atmosphere is very authentic oldschool Japanese street sushi restaurant, think Japanese Deli, fresh food good people quick service, wonderful place all the way around. The door has a ramp around the side. Ignore the front door. Best Katsu I've had in forever, epic sushi, really fantastic, very kind people working there, great prices. Can't beat it.

The restaurant got surprisingly busy for a weeknight and at times it didn't seem like they had enough staff. We ordered the salmon teriyaki and tempura plate, the crunchy California roll, gyoza and an onibi. The miso soup seemed salty and a packaged version. The salmon was a little overcooked and a little dry. The tempura was a solid dish with a good mix and wide variety of vegetables. The salad was just okay, with an odd thousand island dressing we could have done without. The best part of the meal was the gyoza, which was made very fresh.
