Adj: Very fun sporting goods and more store!…read more We love coming to different Bass Pro Shops. They're all kind of different, and yet similar. They're all huge, just that some are even bigger than the average. This one in Mesa, AZ is one of the biggest, we were told by staff. We came while on a trip out to Phoenix area, and we were staying nearby. It was a warm, or rather sizzling hot September day. There's not really a fall in AZ is there? Winter would be fall to most in temps. Anyhow, coming into this store was perfect for getting out of the heat. We wandered immediately over to the huge aquarium. A very attractive feature that my kids just love to gravitate towards no matter how old they are. After looking at the fishes for awhile, we wandered up to the 2nd floor and looked at all the camping gears, not so much b/c we're the camping type, but b/c the products are fun to check out and we discovered some innovations in camping chairs, they have come a LONG way, so comfortable that some of them feel like couches now, or like a reclining chair, almost like a la-z-boy in your family room. After checking out the camping section, we looked at the "stuffed" animals, aka taxidermy wildlife. They are always menacing and "scary" to me. What can I say, I get squeamish around wild animals alive or dead, but of course better if they're already taken care of so I don't have to run for my life. In any case, we also checked out their archery dept which is so cool b/c you can shoot arrow and test out their bows here at their indoor range (smaller, but sufficient) before buying and get practice in with your own bow, iirc. Finally, we just walked around all over, including much of the 1st floor to check out their water sports and apparel depts, all filled with goodies and fun stuff galore. If only money is no object huh? lol. Customer service was friendly and let us browse and explore as we liked, but were there for any questions or directions.

Huge BPS store! This one is in Mesa. We were staying pretty close by, could've technically walked…read moreover had it not been so hot. Spent a couple of hours one afternoon. We love visiting BPS's, it's like going into the wilderness without the prep and mosquito bites. We're only semi-outdoors people of the paved or at least graveled/dirt-road variety, and not too much rugged terrain please for my getting-old bones. Pros: - It's for pros, hence the name, lots of specialty brands. - I feel like I'm a pro when I come here, only need to trick me. - My kids get such a kick out of this place, it's got all the cool gadgets to make camping and other outdoors adventures high-tech and fun - So many taxidermy animals, my wife hates seeing them and get squeamish, but the kids and I find them fun to look at. I personally think they're cool. Too bad I can't bring one home. - Some things on sale are pretty reasonably priced. - Huge place to walk around in, get your exercise done indoors in perfectly temp-controlled environment. - Clean bathrooms and the whole place is kept up nicely. Cons: - Some items are definitely full-retail prices - mostly hiking shoes, water sandals, didn't see much if any discounts for those. - Other items seem even higher than retail at other stores - grills, camping equipment, some knives (although I don't know prices for those as much). All in all, a great place to visit, stick to sale stuff and you can find some decent to good deal for your next outdoors adventure. Service from staff is good if you need help, just ask, otherwise, it's more a hands-off, self-serve, wander-as-you-like type of place which I prefer anyway.

I rarely write reviews, but my experience purchasing my first firearm at Sportsman's Warehouse left…read moreme compelled to share what happened. After about a year of researching and shopping around, I purchased a Ruger 9mm handgun. As a first-time firearm buyer, I expected the employees handling the sale to be knowledgeable, attentive, and careful, especially when recommending ammunition. Unfortunately, I learned more from other customers in the store, particularly one helpful gentleman, than I did from the staff. The most concerning part of the experience became apparent after I brought my purchase home. Along with the firearm, I bought ammunition recommended by the salesperson. Trusting that recommendation, I loaded the magazine. Although something seemed unusual about the fit, it never occurred to me that I had been sold the wrong ammunition for the handgun I had just purchased. A few days later, while showing the firearm to a friend, he noticed the discrepancy: the ammunition was .380, even though my handgun was a 9mm. I had planned to go shooting the following day and was also arranging professional training. Thankfully, my friend caught the mistake before I attempted to fire it. My concern was that, had I proceeded to fire the weapon with incompatible ammunition, I or someone nearby could have been seriously injured. That possibility made the store's dismissive response especially troubling. I called the store the next day and went in person to speak with the manager. What disappointed me almost as much as the original mistake was how casually my concern was handled. I was offered a $10 gift certificate, and the response left me feeling that the seriousness of selling incompatible ammunition had been dismissed. I emphasized that this was a safety concern, particularly for someone purchasing their first firearm. I expected a meaningful acknowledgment of the mistake and an explanation of how the store would prevent it from happening again. Instead, I left feeling brushed aside. I subsequently emailed the manager more than once and received no response. I understand that employees work hard and mistakes can happen. However, verifying that the ammunition being recommended and sold matches the firearm being purchased is a basic responsibility. Both items were part of the same transaction and appeared on the receipt. Since then, I have visited other firearm retailers and found employees who were more courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive, with comparable products and prices. My one-star rating reflects both the ammunition error and the inadequate response that followed. A $10 gift certificate felt dismissive given the nature of the issue. Based on this experience, I will not purchase another firearm from Sportsman's Warehouse, and I would encourage other buyers, especially first-time buyers, to consider shopping elsewhere.

5 Stars -- Exceptional Customer Service from Andrew B. at YETI Scottsdale!…read more I have been a loyal YETI customer for years, spending thousands of dollars on coolers, apparel, tumblers, and drinkware of all sizes. I have always appreciated the quality of YETI products, but my recent visit to the YETI Store on Scottsdale Road was an experience worth recognizing! Andrew B. delivered a level of customer service that I have rarely encountered in retail! From the moment we interacted, Andrew demonstrated genuine enthusiasm, outstanding product knowledge, and a sincere interest in making my shopping experience special. He introduced me to an incredible stainless steel New York Giants cup featuring an etched team logo. As a lifelong Giants fan and YETI collector, I was absolutely thrilled! What impressed me most wasn't simply the product. It was Andrew's attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to introduce me to something unique that I didn't even know was available. After spending thousands of dollars with this brand over the years, I can confidently say I have never experienced service of this caliber at YETI. Because of Andrew, I will absolutely be returning to expand my collection with additional personalized and logo-etched cups. He turned an ordinary shopping visit into a memorable experience and gave me an entirely new reason to keep collecting YETI products. To YETI's corporate leadership: Andrew B. is exactly the kind of employee who elevates a premium brand. Exceptional people deserve recognition, and Andrew has earned mine. Thank you, Andrew, for going above and beyond. You've gained a returning customer and an enthusiastic ambassador for your Scottsdale location! Five stars aren't enough for this experience!

I stopped on Sportsman's Warehouse as I was shopping next door and had 30min to kill. This store is large and I really liked the way they space out their inventory. The displays were easy to navigate and compare items. In the back they had their guns for hunting and also non-lethal options. There were other sections for camping supplies, apparel/camo, and more. The section were divided clearly and easy to navigate. I cannot speak to prices as I don't know the current market value for most items.
