Great service, Great quality furniture with reasonable pricing. Delivery personnel were courteous and efficient. Did a great job. Our purchase of sofa with matching chair and Amish rocker were custom made therefore took some time before delivery. Tim has been in business 40+ years and is so knowledgeable of the many manufacturers options/choices. So helpful for us to narrow down the options to get just what we wanted. Zero stars is not an option, but should be! My husband and I went to Orman's to purchase our first bedroom set as a married couple. We saved our money and planned on getting a bedroom set that we loved and could pass down to one of our kids. We shopped around and decided on Orman's because they were supposedly going out of business and we could save $1000. They have been going out of business for 10-15 years. The store is extremely run down and only has a couple employees including the owner, Tim Orman. The lighting is extremely poor so the we did not get the best look at the furniture we were buying. Our mistake. We were too trusting because Tim Orman is quite convincing that he knowledge and reputable. However, he is more like a used car salesman. We should have turned around as soon as we saw the condition of his building. A lot of the furniture was damaged due to the leaking roof and there is a moldy smell throughout the building. Again, the store/building has not been maintained and is dirty and rundown. We spend quite a bit of money on a bedroom set and were excited to bring it home to our recently purchased first house. When it was delivered the delivery person brought to my attention that the pieces did not match. They were from two different sets and they were two different colors. I was extremely disappointed and I contacted Tim Orman right away. He asked me to send him pictures. I did so and I got a long email of bs excuses. He refused to work with us to find a solution that made sense for both parties. His final answer was "all sales are final". We spent thousands of dollars that we had saved and saved for and ended up heartbroken. We were taken advantage of. Now we are stuck with mismatched furniture that we cannot sell because who wants furniture that does not match. We learned the hard way to buy from a reputable company and not try to save a buck. We should have done our research on other reviews online and thoroughly inspected the furniture before handing over thousands of dollars. It also took 3-4 months to have the furniture delivered even though he had it in his store. We were afraid his doors were shutting and he took off with our money. He does not answer his phone or did not when we called due to caller ID. When he finally answered he would answer "Hello Julie, so he knew it was me. It was an awful experience! Tim Orman is a swindler. Please take my advice and stay clear of his store and him. If you are looking for solid, well made wood furniture that can be custom made check out Simply Amish in Overland Park. We wish we would have spent the extra money for a high quality bedroom set that would have lasted a lifetime or more. Beware of Orman's. read more

We purchased two loveseats and a recliner from Orman's Furniture. They were made to order, with fabric and leather picked by me. It did take a little longer to get the order because of the COVID-19, but we were not in a big hurry to get them, and that's just how it is these days. When they arrived at the store, Tim, the owner, actually delivered them. Once we got everything set up, the items work as expected. We will do business with Orman's again. Thanks Tim! I'm really glad I didn't read the reviews prior to my visit today because I would have missed out on a world of great information. Shopping at Orman's was a very different experience in many ways and I will outline them for you below. First, I found Orman's 3-Day Furniture online because I was looking for Amish built furniture that I could see and touch. Among other high-end furniture, the store features a huge selection of furniture from various Amish builders. The builders have a slightly different niche to what they do ranging in hinges, slides, hidden compartments, wood type, finishes, etc. Second, we were met at the door by the owner who was happy to help us locate the different speices used, and stain colors to fit our needs. Since my need is a custom request, he drew up a sketch of what we're looking for and will send it on for a quote to one of his builders. Third, I learned more about furniture in 30 minutes than I'd learned in my unfortunate 100's of hours shopping for furniture at local competitors over the last 30 years. Oh my!! Fourth, I wanted to buy something from his floor at a good savings (the store is closing) but because of a few concerns I'd mentioned he highly recommended that we special order. His reason was that very easily there are some specific changes that could be made that would meet my need exactly. Did you read that right? This guy didn't want to just sell me furniture, but he wants to sell me furniture that will make me happy for years to come. My synopsis on Orman's Furniture is that this guy has done well for himself, and he's trying to close the business so he can retire and enjoy some fun and perhaps a hobby or two, but Orman's IS his hobby and what he loves to do; furniture and making people happy with their furniture for years to come. We just finished a kitchen redo. Knocked out wall between kitchen and dining room and wanted a specific table to fit the look. Tim helped us tremendously and had many suggestions. My husband is a woodworker and picky. Tim helped us order a beautiful quarter sawn oak table from an Amish shop in Pennsylvania. We weren't rushed on decision making and it was ready in about 2 months. The chairs were shipped to the table shop so all stains match. We couldn't be more pleased!! read more

We were in the mattress market and heard great things about this place on mattressunderground.com. So we drove halfway to Arkansas ---errr well, not quite, but it's pretty far south--- to shop around at this local establishment. For mattresses, they are one of the few places in this area that carry non-big name mattresses. I think they only carry 3 brands, so that is a bit limited, but if you're looking for something different then this is your place. They have memory foam mattresses from anatomic global and latex from latex bliss. The staff was incredibly patient and informative. They provided lots of information, gave us the space and time to mull things over, and didn't pressure us too much. I did price comparisons between internet prices and their prices on exact models, and Orman's was consistently cheaper. So if you are looking for those brands or looking to try those brands then this is a good place to go. Furniture-wise, they seemed to have a pretty stocked warehouse with higher quality wares than Nebraska Furniture Mart. I think they try to keep their pricing competitive, but unfortunately, part of that equates to only being open 3 days a week (Thursday-Saturday). read more

This place is so sad. I purchased some nice furniture here years ago. I thought by now it'd really be out of business because it's been going out of business about 13 years. I was surprised they answered the phone when I called to find out hours. But I was even more surprised to see this place in shambles, still trying to sell what was on the floor when they started the going out of business marketing ploy so long ago. The leaky roof is worse and even the outside of the building is decaying and rotting now.. The prices are insane. I know some stores mark things up to mark them down but honestly 10% of the asking price is probably too much for many items. I just wish they put this poor store out of its misery already. read more

When I'm buying furniture I'll buy the furniture but I don't want to pay someone else rent. Orman's makes low prices work because its not in a high rent area. I like that I get more furniture for my money. Not all buyers think this way but I always buy name brands at off-price places. Worth a look. read more
