Do not trust for attic insulation. It's taken 2 months and 3 city inspections, so far it hasn't passed inspection. I've escalated to anyone I know at Orkin, no one is taking accountability, they're not offering a discount given the number of times I've stayed home to wait for them to show up late, and do incomplete work. They did not get any permitting to begin with, then had to be sent the requirements from the city inspector to actually know what was required. Lack of communication, incomplete work, lack of ownership in work, waste of time. The city inspector called it a 'hack job' which I've also shared with Orkin directly. read more

Poor service and dishonest staff. They set up an appointment. They are supposed to call when they come. They never call. I just get an email saying they completed service with a report of what they allege was done. Upon arriving, I notice that nothing was done. I had to request a different technician because this happened more than 2 times with this technician. But the same technician still shows up for subsequent service. So, I had to cancel subsequent services in June 2024. A couple of month later, I am being charged again. I call again explaining that I cancelled my service a couple of months ago and just received a new charge. They say they will correct it. Another month passes and this is not corrected so I call again. Now, they say that I had an unpaid bill. I ask them which month they allege that I did not pay, but they cannot give me more info and just put me on hold. 30 mins now on the phone with them read more

I had a mouse in my home. One mouse that I had seen to date. I called this orkin and some lady answered and gave me this long spiel about how I need to sign up for some year contract thing where they come out monthly and all this stuff. I said I just wanted a one time visit, and she said oh well that will be three weeks. But if I sign up for the year deal they could come the very next day. I said screw it, bought a couple mouse traps and that was the end of my mouse problem. Trying to take advantage of people when they have an infestation, or possible infestation, into something they don't need is reprehensible. orkin is not what they used to be. customer service once you become a customer is horrible. Managers are NEVER available the reps are rude and they over charge and don't show up for scheduled appointments. i never received mosquito treatment and they charged me for it. i asked for my money back and they indicated they would credit my monthly service and that never happened. they also do not show up in between treatments when you call about still seeing bugs. Do not think that since they have years in the business that they are good as a matter of fact they are the worst because Monica is the nastiest rep ever and Connor and Ryan are never available and take days if ever to return calls read more

I can't comment on their extermination skills because they have now scheduled and missed THREE SEPARATE APPOINTMENTS. Two hour window on Monday - I got a call saying no one was coming because someone didn't show up to work. I had taken off work and was very upset but I rescheduled for Tuesday (taking another day off work) because I needed to get my mouse situation under control. Tuesday I call at 8:30 just to make sure they are coming. Yes yes of course a technition will be there by 10. 10 rolls around, still no one shows up. I call, pissed, and am assured someone will be out on Saturday, this is not their standard of business and they are so sorry to have disappointed me. It's Saturday. They have yet again missed their two hour window. I didn't even get a phone call. I have had orkin service for mosquito control in the summer and mouse control in the winter for several years. Our mouse problem was severe so I asked for Orkin's "rodent specialist" to come out for analysis. They sent someone who clearly did not know what he was doing. I then asked them to come back to reassess, I called 3 times, even talked to a manager, with no response. So much for customer service and dedication to excellent service! We cancelled. I would give 0 stars if I could. I contacted Orkin to remove wasps from my yard, they have been out multiple times in 2 months and the wasps are worse than ever. I called their office and spoke to the manager Jacob who was extremely rude and defensive the entire conversation. They had no answer other than they can't stop flying insects. We have had "critters" in the attic making lots of noise for a couple of years. Called Orkin and others). Orkin came out, pleasant guy, minimal inspection, insisted we had mice. We knew it was not mice as the noise and running, and scratching was too loud. "No, it's mice, we can come back and put out bait stations to your out side, bait the trap and monitor it monthly" plus the cost for these bait stations at a ridiculous amount of money. I mean, a LOT of $$$$. We have decided not to hire them. Since we have trapped (so far) 4 flying squirrels and there is more!! lots of money to catch mice... Really?. Do yourself a favor and find another company. This is twice now that they were a no show. First time, no call whatsoever. Waited all day on a Saturday. Not even a courtesy call saying they couldn't make it. Changed schedule around today for them and an hour before they were supposed to be here we got a call saying they will not be coming out, AGAIN! Apparently they technicians can schedule appointments but have no access to their "master schedule" so maybe they will be here maybe they won't, I have better odds in Las Vegas. Made an appt in the morning but they were unable to come the same day despite their advertisement that if you call before 2, they can come out. . So the appt was made for the next day. The next day they cancelled 30 minutes before the appt. Then they said the next available appt would be 6 days later! We wasted a whole day not being able to call another company. Poor communication between the main office and the technicians. After waiting for two hours for my scheduled appointment, they never showed up. The office said that my appointment was not communicated to the technician. After this, I did not want to schedule another appointment. Once again, they somehow they didn't understand that. Several days later a technician showed up at my house. I was in the middle of an important meeting and I had to interrupt it in order to come to the door. read more

After rescheduling the 1st time due to a no-show, I got rescheduled 2 more times without so much as a phone call to let me now or check to see if I even was available for the dates/times you rescheduled me for!! I would give zero stars if I could. Terrible experience. When we purchased our home, we discovered a carpenter ant infestation. When I called Orkin, the first service rep I spoke with told me that during the first visit to our home, the exterminator would spend 1-2 hours total in our house and would locate all nests to treat/remove them. According to him, treating for carpenter ants without locating the nests was pointless, because they would return. None of the other 7-8 exterminators I called promised to find the nests, so I decided to go with Orkin. I called back and spoke to a second service representative, who had a *lot* of trouble figuring out how much my services would cost. First, she told me that the price quoted by the original service provider was wrong. Okay, no big deal. She quoted me a second price. A few minutes later, she told me that she had calculated it wrong and gave me a third price. Fine. But I wanted to understand why the prices were different, and she couldn't seem to answer the question. Whatever, it wasn't worth wasting time to figure out. I prepaid for a year of services, which included a more expensive first visit (the one where I was told the nests would be found) and then shorter, cheaper follow up visits every other month. I confirmed with her before hanging up that the exterminator would be at our home for at least an hour during the first visit and that he would find the nests at that time. Her exact response to me was, "Of course! What's the point of treating for them if they don't find the nests?" The first exterminator was polite and respectful, but when he arrived and I asked about him finding the nests, he looked very confused and said that that wasn't normally part of their service. I expressed my surprise and told him about my previous two conversations, and he apologized and told me that he didn't know why I had been told that, but that he wouldn't be able to do that that day. He said maybe the next person could do it. Well, two months later, and I get a text about 3 days in advance of a service date saying that my next appointment had been scheduled (I was *not* contacted in advance to schedule my service; Orkin scheduled it without contacting me). When the next exterminator arrived and I opened the door to greet him, he literally asked me why he was there. He seemed to have no clue about what service he was to be providing. Didn't inspire much confidence, and it seemed pointless to ask him about finding the nests. He was at my home for maybe 5 minutes, and that was it. He didn't even check or change the ant trap the previous exterminator left on our first service date. I've never spent $90 for 5 minutes of work before. Unbelievable. Again, two months later, I received a text message stating that our next service date had been scheduled for about three days later (again, without anyone contacting me to schedule it). I called Orkin, because I wanted to cancel this appointment based the issues above and wanted a refund for the services we had prepaid for four months earlier that we hadn't received. The first woman I spoke to told me that scheduled appointments had to be cancelled 30 DAYS in advance to get a refund. I asked her how she expected me to give them 30 days notice to cancel my service when I was only informed of the service date four days before the service. She had no answer for that and quickly transferred me to a manager. The manager asked me about why we were cancelling, and I was honest. I told her everything I wrote above. She seemed disbelieving that I had been told that the nests would be located, saying "There's no way we could provide that service. We just don't have the time for an exterminator to spend an hour at one house." Which, as I told her, is fine...BUT they shouldn't promise it if they can't deliver. I told her repeatedly that two different service representatives had confirmed for me that they would find the nests, and she continued to question me. After I insisted multiple times that I wanted my money back for the services I prepaid for, she finally agreed and said that I should receive a check within three weeks. She ended the conversation by telling me that she was sorry that I "was confused about their services." She took absolutely zero responsibility on behalf of the company that their reps had misrepresented their services to me and instead blamed it on me, telling me that I had "misunderstood." I don't know how it would have been possible for me to misunderstand when two people told me "What separates Orkin from other exterminators is that we find the nests. It's pointless to treat for carpenter ants if you don't find the nests." Altogether an atrocious experience. Never again, Orkin. Never again. read more

Beware when you sign a contract with Orkin...and read all of the fine print. We signed a 12 month contract to have them come out 6 times, and after the last visit, the tech told us that was our last one, contract was up, and we didn't need to do anything further. I then received a text saying they were coming in 3 days. When I called customer service, the super rude lady I spoke with told me "you need to talk to a different department and they are all in a meeting right now. I'll have someone call you back." She then hung up on me without taking down any of my information.They text you 3-5 days before they are coming, and when you call to cancel-they say they require a 30 day notice. Pest issues recurring, poor customer service and HORRIBLE investment. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! (FREE Quote & Same Day Service on Calls Before 2PM) It's been over a year now I've chosen Orkin to assist in resolving my pest problem. I have a wife and a 1 year old son living at our home and have taken their safety very seriously. As such, when we noticed a fly infestation in our basement I called immediately. Needless to say, the issue a year later is recurring. I call and leave a message at 5:38pm Friday and asked for some help on this. I would expect a call promptly and no such call was placed by Orkin. So, I placed a call at 10:10am and was speaking with Jacob. I expressed my concern with the current issue. Jacob started in before I finished and stated, "we have you listed for your regularly scheduled service Tuesday". To which I said was unacceptable and I needed someone out today. With a pest running rampant in your home who has the bandwidth to wait 3 days? NOBODY... I allowed Jacob to finish speaking before I asked the obvious question, "what good is the service if I cant have someone be proactive to stop pest invasion or react when it occurs." Jacob told me, "there isn't anyone able to come out today... We don't have anyone on." I had told Jacob that I could just as easily call a competitor and get this serviced and to cancel me if he wasn't willing to help. Jacob rudely chimed in, "you've been cancelled". The moral of the story is, if you are unable to do the service which you've been paid to do, have poor customer service skills and seem to be without care of losing current clients.
