There's no option to alter the length of the lease renewal through their site either - it's a "take it or leave it" offer. I had to re-sign this year due to timing issues but will be leaving the first chance I get. On top of the lease renewal process, I've had multiple issues with my unit ranging from the appliances always having issues to yellow water coming from the shower. The maintenance staff said unfortunately the yellow water wasn't something they could fix and is from old pipes that management doesn't want to fix. The gym is also super loud (even if you are in a unit facing the courtyard). The common spaces are also dilapidated and need upgrading - the chairs in the business lounge are all ripped (they have leather seating) and the wifi in the lounge rarely works. It's a shame the management company doesn't care because the staff is so great. There are much nicer buildings for the same price in the area - would recommend living somewhere else.

The owner initially agreed to return the security deposit in full (minus last month's electricity bill) but has not done so a month after our move-out. After our multiple requests for the deposit, the owner started to verbally harass my partner with misogynistic comments and outright refused to return the deposit. We are preparing to take legal actions. I would not recommend renting unit 51F. The building by itself is decent, e.g., friendly and helpful staff, close proximity to major subway lines. However, there are loud street noises from fire trucks, ambulances, policy vehicles in the morning and sometimes during the night.

The agent had initially contacted us after we submitted an inquiry post on MiMA website. The agent's name was either Tony Kong or Tommy Kang (don't recall and internet searches are confusing my memory) but I have his number which was 646-724-6850. When my friend reached the apartment building, the doorman denied any knowledge of an apartment showing and was super rude & unhelpful even though my friend tried showing him the proof of contact with this agent. My friend honestly felt profiled and humiliated. We tried contacting Tony/Tommy right away but he never picked up our calls or replied after. I would advise people to not trust the building agents/staff especially if they are going out of their way to visit this building. This whole experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that I have always ignored any MiMA rental posting whenever I looked for a new apartment.

One of the biggest problems is the lack of reliable hot water during the winter. I have had to repeatedly email the janitor just to have the hot water restored, which should not be something residents have to constantly follow up on. There is also virtually no cell phone service inside my apartment, and the building does not have an intercom system. This makes receiving guests and deliveries extremely inconvenient because I have no way of knowing when someone has arrived or is coming upstairs. The amenities are also poorly managed. The gym equipment is old and in need of updating. Residents are charged $10 just to bring a guest to the rooftop, which feels excessive, especially when I regularly see people who do not appear to live in the building using the basketball courts. The laundry facilities are another major frustration. Washers and dryers are frequently out of service and can remain broken for weeks at a time. The shuttle service is also far less useful than it should be. Instead of operating consistently throughout the day, it primarily provides pickups during the day and drop-offs in the evening. This makes it impractical for residents who want to use the shuttle during normal commuting hours to get to and from the subway. Overall, the building feels poorly managed, and residents are nickel-and-dimed for amenities despite persistent problems with basic services and maintenance. Between the unreliable hot water, outdated amenities, broken laundry machines, inconvenient shuttle schedule, lack of an intercom, and additional fees, I would not recommend living here.

Here's the quick rundown: The doormen: Thoughtful, helpful, awesome. Maintenance: No muss, no fuss. Always handled promptly. Management: Responsive, understanding. Property: New, clean, big kitchens.
