Working with Julianne FIshman during our closing process was a pure pleasure. She was always available for any questions and walked us through the entire process in a professional and gracious manner. The actual closing day was a wonderful experience due to Julianne's experience and preparation. We highly recommend Julianne and her firm and would work with her again on any real estate project. Julianne is the best! read more

I've had the pleasure of working with Julianne on my first condo purchase in NYC. From start to finish, Julianne did an excellent job walking me through the process, coordinating all the logistics with all involved parties, and answering any and all of my questions relating to condo policies, procedures, and closing protocols. The closing process was smooth and Julianne payed extra attention to all the closing documents before having me sign. She was able to answer and explain all the paperwork in simple terms, which I greatly appreciated. If you're looking for a law firm to assist with a home purchase, this is the firm and team to hire. read more

We worked with Weidenbaum & Harari for the purchase of our first home, and could not have a better experience. We worked with Jeffrey, one of the partners, and his team, and had a positive experience from end to end - from the intro call to the due diligence and till the very closing. We got valuable advice along the way for some non-standard issue we had, and everything was professional and transparent. The flat retainer fee structure was also reasonable, competitive, and easy to work with. read more

Amazing attention to detail, comprehensive, careful, caring and above all clear. This was my first purchase of a coop, and without Alison, my attorney at Weidenbaum & Harari, it would have been much less fun and much more complicated. My broker recommended this firm and I am pleased to also recommend them! read more

My wife and I were lucky to work with attorney Julianne Fishman of W&Y in closing our purchase of a co-op in midtown Manhattan. Weidenbaum & Harari is an excellent, reliable firm, and Attorney Fishman is a superb talent who gave us excellent advice and was amazingly supportive and helpful. Julianne's vituosity in urban law complements the extraordinary depth of her understanding of real estate and commercial transactions. The closing went as quickly as possible, and we were delighted. read more

Weidenbaum & Harari - Excellent team! - Real Estate Law Near Me - New York, New York

The Worst Experience with a Real Estate Lawyer I Have Ever Had It took me some time to write this because of all the emotions I have been going through, but in a nutshell, my purchase transaction for a condo in Manhattan fell through last week. I believe that Weidenbaum and Harari bears primary responsibility for the deal falling apart, and I deeply regret ever hiring them. A summary of what went wrong: * My case was assigned to a lawyer (Eugene Sarantis) who was on vacation and would not return until the following week. I was not happy that my case was being assigned to an associate out on vacation but I let it go. * It was virtually impossible to get in contact with my lawyer. Despite my repeated attempts to reach Eugene via phone and e-mail, he did not respond to my request for an update until I directly asked one of the partners, Jack Harari, to intervene. The first time I was actually able to speak with Eugene was 13 days after the contract had already been sent. * I was not brought into the contract negotiations until the very end. I was not even sent a copy of the contract and riders until several days after they had been sent to Weidenbaum and Harari, and as referenced earlier, I was unable to speak with Eugene about the contract and provide input until 13 days into the contract negotiation process. * Revisions were made to the contract and riders without my knowledge or consent. During the 13 days before I was finally able to speak with Eugene, negotiations and changes were being made to the contract and riders without my consent, and in many cases, without my even knowing about the requested changes. Although I was initially told by Jack that the entire contract negotiation process would likely take 7-10 days, the contract was still not finalized 14 days after it had initially been sent. By that point, the seller had become extremely frustrated with the process and pulled out of the deal. In hindsight, I believe that my biggest mistake in this condo purchase transaction was hiring Weidenbaum and Harari to represent me. If I could do it over again, I would have hired a different legal team, and I genuinely believe that the outcome would have been different if I had. read more

They have a very solid and efficient team work to handle our real estate transaction recently. Jeffrey, Barry, Jennifer......everyone in the team that we have spoke with have been very helpful and knowledgeable. We would be in no doubt to hire them again if we are in need for real estate business again. My broker, another expertise person, recommended this firm for us. And we know they have earned their reputations from the people who have been working with them. read more

We worked with Alison and Jack for our first home purchase, and we were incredibly satisfied with the service. They answered every call and email immediately, left no questions unanswered and were very professional. We mostly worked with Alison, who was extremely knowledgeable and efficient. They were simply the best! Can't recommend them enough. read more

I owned a coop in west village for several years. When the covid pandemic hit in 2020 I was out of the country and for financial reasons I needed to sell the apartment. Nicole, my business partner, found Weidenbaum & Harari to represent us during the sale. I would say It was the best financial decision in all of my years of real estate transactions. Jack and Xavier went above and beyond to help close the deal. Nicole and I have sold several properties in different states since working with Weidenbaum & Harari and she has commented more than once that she wished Jack and Xavier could have been involved in our other real estate transactions. It's been a few years since I've worked with Weidenbaum & Harari and after working with so many incompetent law firms I wanted to leave this review as a testament to how professional this firm treats their client. Highly recommended. read more

I would not recommend working with WH. I interviewed over 10 attorneys and although WH was on the pricier side, I chose to work with them as I had spoken with Jack ahead of getting an accepted offer and was excited about working with them. He had assured me he'd be a source of expertise (as I was a first time buyer) and be involved in the entire process. That turned to incredibly false. Jack was minimally involved and only jumped in when I repeatedly and explicitly addressed asks to him. WH was extremely reactive rather than proactive. We were on a more ambitious closing timeline of 45 days, however the seller, lender, and broker were all on the same page about our timeline. However, without my knowledge the associate on our team sent a note to the seller's attorney asking for a 60 day close, which understandably then caused confusion and hesitation with our seller. Weeks later, I sent an email to the associate and got an OOO response -- saying she'd be gone for close to 2 weeks during our 45 day closing. What was most concerning was that her OOO was never communicated with me, and in her absence I assumed Jack would step in. However, he simply threw another associate in who was playing catch up and repeatedly asked for materials we had already provided. All in all, throughout the entire process, working with WH was the biggest pain point across our entire team and if I were to do it again, I'd go with a different real estate attorney. read more

I used Weidenbaum & Harari for my condo purchase, the attorney handling my purchase was Alison Snyder. It was my first time buying a home and they were extremely helpful in walking me through the whole process. Jack Harari spent over an hour with me on the phone explaining everything to me (before I had even paid or agreed to retain them). I shopped around a bit for real estate attorneys, and I ended up choosing between W&H and another attorney. The W&H fee was maybe 50% higher than the fee for the other attorney, but I had a feeling that attorney fees were NOT the place to try and save money during a real estate purchase in New York City. That feeling turned out to be correct. My purchase deal, which seemed like it should have been extremely straightforward, ended up getting complicated and contentious. I was so glad that I had an experienced and well staffed firm to back me up, and that I didn't go with the more "discount" option. In my purchase deal W&H ended up saving me an amount of money exceeding their total fee due to catching something fishy that the seller's attorney tried to slip into the contract. At a certain point it even seemed like the seller's side was threatening litigation, but I was able to rest easy knowing that their lawyer probably didn't want to tangle with this firm. W&H also conducted a thorough investigation of the building's finances which really has helped me sleep well at night. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend W&H to anyone looking to buy in NYC. read more

I feel very fortunate that my broker recommended Weidenbaum & Harari as my attorneys for the sale of my coop apartment. From the initial contact and throughout the challenging journey to the apartment sale, Barry and his team (specifically Alison and Louris) worked conscientiously to move the process forward in the most timely way possible. They were always quick to respond to my queries and questions and helped tremendously to bring the sale to fruition. Working with this firm made the whole process of selling a coop apartment a manageable and satisfying experience. They merit the highest praise. read more

I would enthusiastically and unreservedly recommend Weidenbaum & Harari after my experience using their firm to purchase a condo in Manhattan (my first NYC purchase). Home purchasing here can feel like a scavenger hunt that's been rigged to ensure you lose; but Lynda, Barry, and Louris not only had the map but pulled me along behind them. Lynda especially did an outstanding job of making me aware of possible complications in purchasing a condo from a sponsor and proactively ensured that there was language in my contract to mitigate these risks. As such, we closed at the earliest possible date and everything went remarkably smoothly. My only complaint is that Lynda politely declined my request to manage every part of my life going forward. To poorly paraphrase Barry: Hire Weidenbaum & Harari -- their eyes twitch so yours don't start to. read more

It is hard to express how good they are at their job. They made the process just right. We worked with Alison Snyder. From start to finish, she was transparent, effective, and fairly priced--no surprises at all. On the day of the closing, we had three different parties (seller, transfer, and bank) represented. Alison, in an absolutely fantastic and seamless way, coordinated the entire process. She knew all the details, even the ones related to the other parties, and at every bump (believe me, there were bumps), she took the right initiative, even asking her paralegal to craft documents that the seller's attorney had messed up. She did this without waiting or being asked to, while explaining to us all the details of the documents we had to sign. I am impressed. I don't see why anyone would ever want to hire another law firm. read more

I worked with Michael and Marlene on my recent co-op purchase in NYC. I am a newbie to NY. I found the lengthy process of home buying very frustrating but this is the accepted norm I guess. Michael was always friendly, attentive and patient and had my best interests in mind when handling my contracts and all the bumps along the way. Very happy with their professionalism and guidance. And very happy in my new home. read more

As someone with a professional services background myself, you realize that a good partner is one who is experienced not just smart, empathetic not just professional, and creative not just knowledgeable. In a consultation with Jack Harari regarding an open permit on my apartment, all three qualities were evident in abundant measure. He grasped the situation quickly, spoke to me about how to manage my costs down, gave me a referral for an architect, and came up with a creative approach that I can pursue with the department of buildings. All this for free. I have no doubt I would approach Jack and his firm for all real estate matters in the future. One can only wish all law firm partners are wired like Jack. read more

Barry has helped me through three RE deals so far, and each time was a breeze -- thanks to Weidenbaum & Harari. Super communicative, on top of every detail, and making sure I am well informed and having input at every step along the way. Every real estate agentI have worked with has raved about how refreshing it is to work with someone as professional, organized, personable and detail-oriented as Barry (and now Despina) and we have been impressed with the work ethic of the organization, as well. Even during the pandemic when deals got extremely messy and complex, he went above and beyond the normal realm of what is expected. Not just a business relationship; but someone I can truly count on. read more

I had a fantastic experience with Jack, Lynda, and Liz on the team. A multitude of my real estate transactions have gone through Weidenbaum and Harari and every transaction was treated with a painstaking attention to detail that made me feel like I was their only client. The team had my best interests at heart throughout the entire process, and dealt with a wide gamut of tough personalities and issues originating from from the other side. In this real estate market, a good legal team that will fight to protect your interests (and clearly lay out the pros and cons of a legal strategy) is a rare sight more than ever. Weidenbaum and Harari is the exception to the rule, proving that there is still professionalism, empathy, and integrity in the real estate world. read more

Highly recommended! Barry represented us while selling our condo in Brooklyn. Our first interactions with him were actually much earlier (2020) when we ended up signing into a contract for a new development that had severe delays. We had a different lawyer that did not effectively represent us and we couldn't find a way out of the contract. We ended up buying the unit in order to not lose our deposit, and Barry provided advice to our realtor at no charge along the way. When we made the bittersweet decision to sell the condo a year later, we knew Barry was our guy. He is an expert in the field, very prompt with responses and has a great team to work with. read more

I worked with the team at Weidenbaum and Harari on a more complicated than usual closing with a relatively difficult co-op in queens. Brett and Barry spearheaded this effort. This was an estate sale which adds one level of complexity, and I was an out-of-state seller, which made the sale even more difficult. A few things that really stood out about this group were the following: -- Fast response times with complete answers. -- An ability to answer sometimes complex questions thoroughly and in a manner that's easy to understand. -- Great problem solving skills. -- A (probably unparalleled) understanding of how real estate transactions on NY work. -- An ability to track and stay on top of everything. -- A really nice and personable staff (not a deal maker, but definitely a nice-to-have). Because of the items listed above W&H was able to work through a number of hard-to-solve problems and get me to closing with no hassles or hiccups. I was able to be hands-off while they were hands on. They're a truly professional, responsive team that will work with your best interest in mind. Would highly recommend. read more

I have relied on the advice an counsel of Weidenbaum & Harari for over a decade as both a real estate professional, as well as a home buyer and seller. Barry Weidenbaum is thorough, thoughtful, approachable, meticulous, prepared, caring, communicative, smart and tough when the situation calls for it. Better yet, I can say the same thing about his entire team of attorneys and paralegals. Most recently, my wife and I had the pleasure of working with Barry and Brett Stack on the purchase of our own home. The situation was unique, but they approached each hurdle with our best interests in mind, gave us expert advice and guided us to a successful closing. Not surprisingly, I received the same level of care and attention my clients have received from them for over a decade. As I tell all of my clients, your choice of a real estate attorney is one of the most important decisions you will make during the purchase process. You absolutely need someone who will embrace their obligation to you as their client, advocate for you at every turn and communicate and respond when you need information and answers in a timely fashion. No matter the price of the home, this is the level of service Weidenbaum & Harari provides each and every time. read more
