We had a terrible experience with Su. She quit on us less than 20 hours prior to closing on our 2+million dollar property and almost cost us closing. As a lawyer, you have a fiduciary responsibility to your clients. In Su's case, you have a responsibility towards her. She was adequate in getting details of contract sorted out. She went over details of contract with us and explained redimentary language in our contract was able to answer most of our question. We had over 3 months to close so we comfortable. So we thought... Fast forward to 3 weeks before closing. Su We gave her 14 days to choose from to coordinate with sellers attorney. Then she had the audacity to try to charge us $250 more for a 10 am closing saying "it's an unusual time for closing on a house." She had 3 weeks to schedule to prepare us for closing. We had the date and time set. This was our first time closing and she did not adequately prepare us for closing no coaching on what we need what checks need to certified. Its the day before closing... 2 pm and no information about what we need. I send her an email asking for specifics and what we need and tell her that her actions are inappropriate. We need to know how what certified checks we need and what other documents we need to prepare. We have less than 20 hours to close and we are not prepared because our lawyer hasn't informed us what we need. Su calls my pregnant wife screaming at her for asking these questions and saying she is bending over backwards to accommodate the date we wanted close. When you hire Su as your lawyer... You don't hire her you have to do things her way. She will not work for your benefit only hers. She get irritated and agitated when you ask questions. I would not recommend her. Su nearly cost us losing our deposit and mortgage because she could not act professionally. Yelpers please consider hiring someone else. I hired Su to do a closing of a house based on a recommendation from a long time friend and business partner. She was very professional and had all the details ready for us. SuJeon Lee is outstanding. I retained her for the purchase of a small business. Unfortunately, the deal went horribly wrong, but that was more due to my own weakness as a virgin buyer of a small business, my ego, and my impulsiveness. There were red flags everywhere and SuJeon did point many of them out to me in hindsight. Lessons learned. I actually changed to SuJeon after initially hiring another counsel because: 1. SuJeon's price was better. I was receiving quotes all over the map. 2. She answered her phones and emails herself rather than ALWAYS having to go through an assistant. This is critical when you need inputs to help you make your decisions especially when time is of the essence. 3. I could call her occasionally after hours and on weekends when necessary and she was very courteous and helpful even out of hours. The final bill was reasonable. I plan to continue retaining her in the future and I have asked her to be very stern with me. If she feels, I should walk away from a deal, I will give her veto power to do so. This will take less pressure off me. In this deal, I felt she was a bit too courteous to me when I felt she could have provided more assertive / aggressive legal counsel. So to my fellow yelpers, if you retain SuJeon, let her know in advance how assertive you want her to be with you. Some clients are business gods and want their lawyers to only quietly provide legal counsel and stay in their corner. Whereas I'm a stubborn, former Marine. So, I want my legal counsel to tell me in all caps to walk away when necessary. I've told that to SuJeon and I plan to retain her excellent services for many years to come. read more

But I must say, for the first time, I felt lucky to have someone like Su next to me. I was truly impressed. She is super good with numbers. We were in a closing table for 5 hours because my bank's(Citizens Bank) numbers didn't match her number. She didn't give up to protect my $$$. She was able to convince 3-4 people in the bank/bank's attorney that their numbers were wrong and we finally were able to close that day! If it was another lawyer who is not as good as her in numbers, I think I could have end up paying several thousands of dollars more and/or would have not been able to close that day... She is smart and persuasive. She was able to hold 5 times the amount of the escrow money the seller suggested using reasonable arguments and calm voice. If you want to read further, this is my experience: Lee Law Offices came strongly recommended by a colleague. I had been trying to sell my wedding flower business for about two years and had gone through 4 business brokers. I had a fairly firm date on when we were going to open my next (current) business, which was only 3 months away. I was advertising the sale myself and found a buyer at the 11th hour. Sujeon was able to organize everything and everybody where we closed in 13 days! She drafted our contract, dealt with the landlord, the buyer's lawyer, as well as my ex-partner's lawyer.
