I'd say this is would be a 4 star, but giving it 1 more for consistency and fast delivery. I've tried other places...and this has been my favorite. SO...here are few tips tho...don't do the dinner with rice specials, don't do the lunch specials, and for some reason Tuesday night food can be a bit different than the rest of the week. The flavors are pretty good, and pretty much on point and consistent for a the staple soups and popular veggie and other entrees. Portions large. This is our new favorite Chinese takeout. They have free delivery, have an online menu/ordering form and accept credits! Is the food the best I've ever had? No. But it's Baltimore, not San Francisco or NYC or DC - we don't have a Chinatown. However, I've never had a problem with the service and the food is more than adequate. Last time we had food delivered, it arrived almost half an hour early even in terrible weather. And the best was that I was ordering one vegetarian meal and requested veggie fried rice instead of pork, even though it's not on the menu that way. Used to really like this place. Passable Chinese for a decent price - but tonight, my pork was luke warm to cold, and my girlfriend's General Tso's chicken was tough and tasted old and overcooked - the broccoli was mysteriously cold as if it hadn't been cooked at all. When I called to ask them to swap it out, they first agreed to swap out just the chicken. Then I told them the pork needed to be replaced too, but they told me to "call grubhub to fix it" and "don't call here again." I ordered from here for lunch on Wednesday, and got the same tough, overcooked chicken and undercooked broccoli, but I thought it was just a fluke (my jaw *literally* hurt after eating it), but to be so rude on the phone is totally unacceptable. Although their food is ok ... or just average ... my complaint is their lack of response to my additional instructions! I requested extra crispy wonton noodles with my two large orders of wonton soup ... Ugh, instead I got one pack for two soups! I requested a few extra mustard packets with my two orders of shrimp egg rolls ... and only received one! In fact, after two bites, I cut one shrimp egg roll open ... and found absolutely no shrimp! Great food and service! I ordered through Foodler and waited an hour and still no food, so I called the restaurant. They were so apologetic that the order never came through. Turns out, Foodler was having technical difficulties. They asked what my order was and sent the food out immediately! I had a delivery guy at my door in ten minutes. I called the restaurant to make sure they were paid through Foodler and they said no, but they would be in touch with the company and work it out. Ordered through Uber Eats and the delivery time kept fluctuating by hours. When I called they said they delivered everything but I never received a call and they made up some other obscure "facts." Ordered some "I'm lazy and don't want to think" food. For that, Oriental Wok is the prototypical Americanized Chinese takeout place. I actually really appreciated that there was a good amount of veggies in the dishes, especially broccoli because I just love broccoli. But for some, this may be a downside since it might not be enough meat for some. I ordered black bean chicken, beef and scallops, mixed veggie dish and sesame shrimp with some pork fried rice. The black bean chicken was definetly more on the Americanized side and not as pungent as I was expecting. The beef and scallops, chicken and veggies all were really similar and more health-ish with lots of broccoli and light sauce. The shrimp was fried and the batter was pretty thick, and the shrimp was over cooked. The fried rice was so so, and the portion size was smaller than expected. Overall, I will order again, but will steer more towards the health-ish types of dishes, because I found those to be more satisifing than the fried foods. read more

I love their beef and chicken recipes, as well as their prompt delivery. Normally I would give it 5 stars as far as Baltimore Chinese restaurants are concerned... ...But tonight's fortune cookie was new - it had a Kung Fu Panda 3 promotion on the wrapper... The cookie quality was far lesser than they normally are, but I could get past that... It's a cheaper, local Chinese place. They probably just wanted make a few bucks by advertising. I understand that. However, when I opened the cookie there was no hint of a fortune. I was dumb-struck. It was like my whole future had been robbed. I really had some previously good experiences with this place, and the food isn't bad (granted I only get like 2 things from the menu). But I had to write this review. So I ordered lunch for me and a friend. We work in Canton Baltimore, MD. It usually takes no less than 40 minutes for my food to get here. I've times it before. So today shouldn't be different plus I gave them an extra few minutes just in case. An hour and 20 minutes later, NO FOOD YET! This makes me sad and annoyed because I was really rooting for this place as a spot for lunch. But now that I've had this happen to me, I can't deal with it. Pretty standard as Chinese food goes. I ordered the vegetable lo mein and it was pretty flavorful. The spring rolls are crunchy, but a little bland. Their Chinese donuts are good, especially since most Chinese restaurants don't offer dessert options. My only complaint is that my order took over an hour to arrive and my food was lukewarm. Food took an hour and a half for delivery that they insisted would only take 40 minutes. I called after an hour and 15 minutes and they told me 10 more minutes. The entree seemed rushed. Moo shoo chicken - It only comes in one size but the portion was large. The vegetables pretty much make up the whole dish, they were burnt. The steamed pork dumplings were fair. The spring rolls were way too greasy. It was dripping like crazy from grease after every bite. The spring rolls lacked any flavor as well. Not a big deal but no 2 go silver, no duck sauce and one soy sauce, no napkins. Wasn't impressed. I didn't intend to be blown away by any place in my search but was looking for a good "go to joint" for Chinese food since I just moved to a new part of the city. I have not had a problem with Oriental Wok at all. Actually, I found their website conveniently on Eat24/Baltimore. Want to know one of their hidden secrets? Fried chicken! I'm not kidding people, their half fried chicken and chicken wings are very very delicious! I have noticed that a trend in Baltimore...the 1/2 fried chicken. Lots of good eats around the heart of Baltimore. Anyways, I go with that and a side of pork fried rice and egg drop soup and I am golden! It's delicious, I cannot go wrong. And again, another one that surprised me is their french fries with chicken wings, it's delicious! Very tasty :) I have also tried combination pan fried noodles which is my favorite noodle dish on their website--has everything you're going to need, veggies, shrimp, beef, pork, chicken and noodles. As far as rice dishes, their pork fried rice is my go to now, and the combination is really delicious as well. Egg drop soup is the only soup I go for when it comes to Chinese food, and it is good at No 1 taste! I haven't had trouble with delivery. It does come between 45-60min, but on slow times, I have gotten my order less than 30 minutes! I have never walked in to the store for carry out, only delivery. Other foods I have tried their is there Beef and Broccoli (Which I find delicious as well), Sesame Chicken ( a little too sweet for my taste), shrimp toast ( I wouldn't recommend those, did not like them), Chicken Lo Mein (I did not like this either), Egg rolls (are OK, I have had better), wonton soup ( I did not particularly like the filling in the wonton) But for dessert, I have tried their: Chinese donuts (like donuts covered in sugar, delicious) Other than the above I mentioned that I did not like, I have had no problems with this restaurant. I have been ordering from here for 7-8 years. I have tried off and on other Oriental Delivery restaurants. But I always come back to Oriental Wok. No one makes the Hot & Sour Soup like they do. It is excellent. Their Egg Drop is also very good. Both are my must haves on cold. Good Crab Rangoon. And Mai Fun is a favorite. They are slower for delivery then they use to be 5 years ago. The food is good, but the delivery is terrible. I ordered online and they still couldn't get it right. They aren't apologetic and they hung up on me when I called to complain. They seemed to have trouble understanding why 2 cans of Coke were not the 2 liter bottle I ordered. It's not a huge deal, but the delivery guy knew he didn't have it when he showed up and then still didn't get it right. It should take three trips to get a soda.
