I thought this place was pretty good! I tried the General's Chicken, which was very tasty crispy, flavorful, and hit the spot. The Mongolian Beef was also excellent. I really liked it and would order it again. The Sichuan Chicken, on the other hand, was a miss for me just overly fried little balls with not much going on and way too salty. I was working late at Fort Huachuca, and everything was closed then, so I headed out the south gate into Sierra Vista's downtown area. I found the Orient Express. As you enter the door, the restaurant is on your left, and another business is on the right-hand side. I paid no attention to what it was since it was late and I was tired. I ordered my standard, which is chicken fried rice and an egg roll. She mentioned having spring rolls, which was fine as long as they were not seafood since I am allergic to them. Well, the total came to $36+. At first, I thought she might have charged me for two chicken fried rice dishes since that's usually the case, but to my surprise, the spring roll was four rolls per order at $9.95. So, if you're eating solo, be ready because ordering a single roll is impossible. They are only orderable in quantities of four. She had to call the manager to cancel the additional order for spring rolls. No worries. The cashier/order taker was kind and friendly, a delight after a demanding day. I had an urge for Chinese food that has lasted for two weeks. It was an itch that Panda Express couldn't scratch. Being new to town, I was iffy about trying the local cuisine but gotta try new things. Orient Express is located in a hotel on Fry street and it's understandable why you can drive past, it's in the hotel instead of attached. I was greeted when I entered and shown the menus at the desk for my to-go order. I walked around the dining room while waiting for my food. It's a large area with a side room tucked away by the pool. It didn't take long for the food to be done. I noticed there wasn't an overwhelming smell of "Chinese food" that I've come to expect. The spring rolls were delicious, both plain and with the sauce. Same with the Veggie Lo mein. This isn't like previous restaurants I've been to before just regarding the menu. Other Chinese restaurants have lots of options, including lunch and house specials. This was a nice surprise. I only found out about this place because of its Yelp account. I had to check it out as I enjoy Asian cuisine. The restaurant is inside the Sierra Suites. There is no independent marquee noting its existence. The only semblance of advertising are flags along Fry Blvd, but they are hard to read by passers-by, especially when the wind is blowing. You don't know about the restaurant until you enter the hotel lobby. The restaurant is an extension of the front lobby, separated by a glass wall. There is patio dining facing the pool, but I sat inside because of the threat of rain. The ambiance inside is airy and light. No overhead TVs were on to ruin the peace. Menus are already on the table, but you can do a quick scan of the bar code to access the menu online. I ordered the chicken broccoli lunch plate for$9.95. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was brought promptly. A spicy bowl of wonton soup came with my order, making this a very filling portion. The broccoli was crispy and the chicken was tender. This is how real Chinese cook their vegetables and meats. Nothing soggy. This restaurant just recently opened, so people have not heard about this place. We find the food was good under both, but like the current food better. They slimmed the menu down some, I think so that they could focus on refining the flavors of the dishes. It works well! They serve really great Chinese food for a really reasonable price. All the entrées, were right around $15 apiece. I had the Mongolian beef which was really quality beef and really well cooked and flavored. The egg drop soup was also really good and nice and hot. We decided to try this restaurant after reading several reviews. It is inside of an older hotel, the Sierra Suites, and is rather unassuming. The waitresses were nice, but.... something happened and our order got lost or something... but other tables that came after us were getting served. We were patient, and they kept telling us that our food was coming... but it didn't come. After an hour of waiting, we were about to walk out, when our food came. I don't blame the waitresses, and even really the cooks. These things happen. But if we had have walked out, like, it's not cus we weren't patient. One hour is a long time to wait and it was just... toooo long. We had to move on. I was literally on the edge of my seat about to stand. It was really pretty good. The food seemed fresh and not heated from frozen or microwaved. What I would call "clean". I don't know how to explain it, but many times other restaurants will have food that looks like it's been "roughed" up a bit. Like it's been through a storm and around the block a few times. This food was very "clean", not full of fat, or odd bits that you didn't know what they were. It was presented well, and was very tasty. The food is delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was prepared and served very quick. I like how you can specify how spicy you like dishes. The portion sizes were definitely shareable. Ambiance could be better, there are still Christmas looking decorations up and it's a little too quiet, but it's still nice and clean. I have to give a special shout out to Ms. Win, I believe she is the manager/ owner, and she is the sweetest lady around! The restaurant is located within the Sierra Suites Motel. If you need further directions stop by the front counter and Cassandra, the front desk clerk, is super friendly and helpful as well. So I am from out of town, Southern California! We found this little gem because we were staying at Sierra Suites. While it's inside the hotel, anyone can come for lunch or dinner. The ambiance is very nice, quiet and the service was exceptional. Best in Sierra Vista, or one of the best. We loved the food. If you have not tried this it's worth coming in for lunch or dinner. Really good food. Great people! We loved it. Will be making this a place we return to when we visit family. read more

My food tasted like the oil got too hot and burned if that makes sense. It looked amazing but it did not deliver. The others at the table didn't share my experience, but due to the burned oil, I cannot do this place again. I don't eat out much but a cute older Chinese lady was handing out menus in front of the Safeway the other day so I figured give it a try. I went for lunch and ordered the Kung Pao Chicken which is my go to at any Chinese place. No tea or soup which used to be standard with lunch but the Kung Pao was really exceptional. I wouldn't normally rave about rice, but it was really nice, too. And they have a fun self serve soft serve ice cream machine for dessert. Can't beat it! read more

The food was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and fresh. We had vegetarian spring rolls, green onion pancakes, pork dumplings, egg drop soup, House Noodles (2 orders), Mongolian Beef, and Sesame Chicken. I recently ordered from here because it's a brand new place and I was so excited to have some Chinese food in this small town. I placed my order online and they quickly made it and had it ready within 15 minutes. First thing I noticed was how small the portions are and no rice is included with the meals - you have to order it separately. For a $11-16 meal I would expect at least white rice. I ordered the garlic chicken which was very soggy and had little flavor. Very garlicky but lacked texture. My friend ordered the beef and broccoli and it was also lacking flavor and texture. The fried rice was yellow and also had very little flavor, very disappointing. I really really wanted to love this place because we desperately needed a Chinese restaurant but this isn't it. They're just getting started so the ambiance is slightly lacking, but clean and open for many to dine in and enjoy truly authentic amazing Chinese cuisine. The "critics" are saying hurtful things that clearly just express toxic tendencies and a need to hurt hard working people who are breaking their backs to please their guests. Don't let the toxic ones spread their own personal unhappiness into your mind. Try it, if you like epic Chinese food, and decide for yourself. The staff is professional and the food was made with skill and pride. Our plates showed up piping hot, full of color from freshness and packed with savory spices and joy inducing flavors. We had the spicy Dandan noodles, egg drop soup, perfectly cooked garlic laden bok choy, spicy Sichuan Chili chicken, seafood shumai dumplings....all for $50 and it was all perfect and generous portions enough leftovers for my husband and I to eat the next day for lunch. There's isn't much for Chinese food in this town but they really did good here. We had the sour soup. While it looked like the infamous hot and sour soup it is not. It's very good nicely spiced. And definitely large enough for 2. In face a single order will easily give you 4 bowls of soup. Our second dish was garlic Mongolian beef. Nicely spiced. Very noticeable but pleasant garlic. Lots of beef and CHILIS. They are hot. So good! It's so hard to find good Asian cuisine in town, especially on a Sunday after 4PM. This one is in an odd spot, inside a hotel, but it's worth it to wander inside and grab something to eat. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes! We had the orange chicken, spicy beef stew, and the steamed pork dumplings. All of these were so good - the orange chicken comes with enough sauce to eat your rice with, the beef stew has flavor and a mouth numbing affect, and the steamed pork dumplings have a delicious soup/sauce inside of it.
