    Plentiful meal
    Yochanan H.

I was working late at Fort Huachuca, and everything was closed then, so I headed out the south gate into Sierra Vista's downtown area. I found the Orient Express. As you enter the door, the restaurant is on your left, and another business is on the right-hand side. I paid no attention to what it was since it was late and I was tired. I ordered my standard, which is chicken fried rice and an egg roll. She mentioned having spring rolls, which was fine as long as they were not seafood since I am allergic to them. Well, the total came to $36+. At first, I thought she might have charged me for two chicken fried rice dishes since that's usually the case, but to my surprise, the spring roll was four rolls per order at $9.95. So, if you're eating solo, be ready because ordering a single roll is impossible. They are only orderable in quantities of four. She had to call the manager to cancel the additional order for spring rolls. No worries. The cashier/order taker was kind and friendly, a delight after a demanding day. As for the food, it was plentiful and fresh, and I even went to Walmart afterward to pick up some bottled water.

This place was recommended by a local. Considering Sierra Vista doesn't have many options we decided to give it a try. We ordered the house lo mein and crab puffs. I will say this is mediocre food. The chili oil wasn't hot at all seriously poured it onto my plate and no flavor whatsoever. The waitress was super sweet and kept checking on us.

It's been a minute. The restaurant is running well. The chef still cooks one plate at a time. So food is done individually. But I think we will order too go more. Was delicious.

I had an urge for Chinese food that has lasted for two weeks. It was an itch that Panda Express couldn't scratch. Being new to town, I was iffy about trying the local cuisine but gotta try new things. Orient Express is located in a hotel on Fry street and it's understandable why you can drive past, it's in the hotel instead of attached. I was greeted when I entered and shown the menus at the desk for my to-go order. I walked around the dining room while waiting for my food. It's a large area with a side room tucked away by the pool. It didn't take long for the food to be done. I noticed there wasn't an overwhelming smell of "Chinese food" that I've come to expect. The spring rolls were delicious, both plain and with the sauce. Same with the Veggie Lo mein. This isn't like previous restaurants I've been to before just regarding the menu. Other Chinese restaurants have lots of options, including lunch and house specials. Orient Express has a few options for appetizers, desserts and main dishes.

    My chicken broccoli lunch plate

This was a nice surprise. I only found out about this place because of its Yelp account. I had to check it out as I enjoy Asian cuisine. The restaurant is inside the Sierra Suites. There is no independent marquee noting its existence. The only semblance of advertising are flags along Fry Blvd, but they are hard to read by passers-by, especially when the wind is blowing. You don't know about the restaurant until you enter the hotel lobby. The restaurant is an extension of the front lobby, separated by a glass wall. There is patio dining facing the pool, but I sat inside because of the threat of rain. The ambiance inside is airy and light. No overhead TVs were on to ruin the peace. Menus are already on the table, but you can do a quick scan of the bar code to access the menu online. I ordered the chicken broccoli lunch plate for$9.95. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was brought promptly. A spicy bowl of wonton soup came with my order, making this a very filling portion. The broccoli was crispy and the chicken was tender. This is how real Chinese cook their vegetables and meats. Nothing soggy. This restaurant just recently opened, so people have not heard about this place. I was the only diner in the hour I enjoyed my meal.

The food is delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was prepared and served very quick. I like how you can specify how spicy you like dishes. The portion sizes were definitely shareable. Ambiance could be better, there are still Christmas looking decorations up and it's a little too quiet, but it's still nice and clean. I have to give a special shout out to Ms. Win, I believe she is the manager/ owner, and she is the sweetest lady around! The restaurant is located within the Sierra Suites Motel. If you need further directions stop by the front counter and Cassandra, the front desk clerk, is super friendly and helpful as well. I highly recommend this place for authentic Chinese food in Sierra Vista! I'm looking forward to visiting again and trying more options!

Shrimp Balls Really spicy chicken dish that was amazing

While the ambiance of the restaurant itself is rather plain, the food was phenomenal. I ordered the black pepper Shrimp Balls (AMAZING) and the spiciest chicken dish (one next to Kung Pao) that I don't recall the name of that was truly spicy and amazingly delicious. Besides the ambiance, the only other oddity is that the Coke is served in a can with a glass, not a fountain soda (for $2.50)..

An awesome find in Sierra Vista! Impeccably clean, great service. Favorites are fish and sauerkraut soup Not what you would expect. More like cabbage, ginger and garlic and tender white fish soup, Mongolian beef, Maypo spicy tofu, and the hubs loves everything. When the menu says spicy, believe them!

Cucumber salad- very refreshing and different! Highly recommend! Lots of flavor: garlic, light soy dressing and cilantro for garnish.

Service is consistently good and the food is amazing. I have had Kung Pao Chicken and combination fried rice. Both were best I've had.

The quality though was kind of meh for me. I could tell the food had been out awhile, and the sushi was a little bland. The meal itself though wasn't bad, and the price point is good for all you can eat food. The service is also lovely. The hostess seated us right away and the server immediately followed up with drink orders. It's a very family friendly establishment, so if you have kids, relatives, or just friends to spend time with, this is a great location. It wasn't even that loud despite the restaurant quickly filling up. This restaurant serves Pepsi products and I'm not sure if alcohol is an option. I went for the healthy option of water. My family enjoyed it, and I'd be amenable to returning in the future for a relaxed evening.

A lunch special for $7 in this day and age? Unbeatable!…read more Don't let the front of this restaurant deter you. I thought it was closed when we pulled in but I'm glad I got out of the car and went up to tug on the door. I think I surprised the nice lady that works there because most people call their orders in as this is takeout only and no dine in but she was very nice and the other customers inside were super friendly too. I felt very welcomed. For the price the food was very good. I got full and I was happy. This should be a staple for anything the area. Great service and great value for sure.

I was a little worried when I saw all the one star reviews here, but if you actually read them,…read morethey're pretty silly. We took a chance and had a great, incredibly affordable, lunch from Lai Lai. They have a $7 lunch special. You get an entree, a side, and an egg roll. For $7. That's pretty much unheard of these days. Not only was the staff friendly, but the other customers as well. I meant an amazing local woman and chatted with her while the food was prepared. It didn't take long. The total came to $15 and change after tax for two meals, and my husband tried to give $20 and leave the change as a tip. The owner would not hear of it. She insisted he take the change and buy some gas or candy or something with it. That is the first time in my life I have ever had someone refuse a tip! The food was good, just check out the pictures attached, and be sure to stop in here and give them a try!
