AND IT WAS THE BEST GIFT I EVER RECEIVED! It is truly the gift that keeps on giving. **Hint hint, people- Christmas is less than 3 weeks away, if you are struggling for ideas. ;-) Schae and Britney were spectacular! They rolled into my place like two boss ladies ready to get down to business (but not in a scary way lol)! They put on a fun playlist and took charge, which is what I like and needed. They let me help (obviously not required, but desired on my part to learn) and taught me helpful tips and tricks along the way to maintain the organization. Best of all, they knew how to prioritize my projects in the order that made most sense, and maximized efficiency and my time with them. Not a minute wasted and no stone (aka leftover crap I didn't need anymore) left unturned! AND, like, how helpful and convenient it is that they haul away as many donations for you as they can when they leave?! At the end of the day (literally), I had the best nights sleep that I'd had in years, knowing that there was (finally!) a place for everything and everything in its place. Not only did M2O grant me peace of mind, they motivated me to keep going and see what I can accomplish on my own with what I learned from them. And the productivity levels on all the DIY projects I've set aside over the years are through the roof! My home is, now, finally the way I want and need it to be- it is first and foremost, my sanctuary. Thanks to M2O! But don't worry, I would never claim to be a 'Master Organizer' like them though- there are still some projects that seem just too overwhelming to undertake myself...like where do I even start?! Four Years Later…read more.. The Chicago Organizer is still great at helping me get all of my stuff organized and manageable! After I moved house, I had so many rent-a-crates to unpack and return very quickly. I felt overwhelmed and couldn't move two feet without hitting a box, and unpacking by myself was too slow. I contacted Terri again. Terri couldn't come out to personally help me within my limited window of time, but she has fantastic team members. Kammy came to help me, stayed for just under five hours, and we unpacked every rent-a-crate plus all of the cardboard boxes! There is a little left to do in order to make my new place feel like home, but Kammy's help means that 95% of the work is done. I am so pleased with The Chicago Organizer. I usually apply rule #4 and rule #5 to my spaces, but I am getting it all under control. Did you know that The Container Store has a design team in Custom Spaces to plan out your room and now also installs? That's what I'm talking about. The designer came out to our house and gave us a plan for two pantry closets and three clothes closets. We also did this during the Elfa 30 percent sale. The parts were shipped to our house and in a few weeks the install crew set it up. I would suggest that the installation team bring the parts to the house instead, as some parts were not delivered, and someone had to drive out to another store to get the parts. Other than that, the closets look great, but my closet is already full! Time to employ the 80/20 rule!

I couldn't recommend her more. We have loved having her help in our new home. We have moved several times in the 20 (something) years we've been a family. The move to San Diego from the Midwest last fall was an exciting adventure that we were ready for. The moving company that we hired however, left much to be desired. To put it mildly, they were terrible. In reminiscing, I have said they might as well have used a backhoe and shovel our neatly organized house into the truck, shaken it across the country and dumped it into our garage. Tuesday is my new favorite day because that's when The Organized Mama puts my life back together…read moreroom by room. 3 kids + a busy job= disastrous home! I've hired organizers in the past, but the majority of them require you to do the organizing with them...and if I had time to organize I won't need an organizer! They also leave my house in perfect condition and then a month later I'm back to where I started. A few months ago I had the genius idea (if I do say so myself) that I'd hire a weekly organizer to slowly get my house in order and then help me maintain it. I did a search on Yelp and beyond and discovered that there are many crazy people in this world who actually like to organize. I'd personally rather get a root canal. After chatting and even meeting with a few organizers I ended up going with The Organized Mama. I liked her personality (totally someone I'd be friends with), she didn't judge me as I took her thru my unorganized house and her hourly rate was inexpensive. Since then she's raised her hourly rate based on demand, but was cool enough to honor her original rate for myself and her other clients. Every Tuesday morning she enters my house and tackles a new room. Some rooms (like the kitchen) take longer than a week, but the wait is well worth it. So far she's worked her magic on my mudroom, kitchen, my daughter's hair accessory area (no joke- the girl has a lot of hair...and bows) and part of my office. She comes for a few hours and then bills me for the time she spent at my house + anything she buys (typically from the Container Store) to keep me organized. I only wish she could stay longer, but understand she has little kids of her own to get home to so will take any time she has. If you happen to be one of those crazy people who like organizing your own you'll absolutely love her blog. The tips and pictures she shares (almost) makes me want to start organizing my house myself, but then I know I can't do half as good of a job as Jessica.

Jessica came prepared with ideas, supplies and a lot of energy to help conquer my two worst areas, the kitchen and the playroom(s).... so actually 4 worst areas because the playroom spanned 3 of our rooms. Cleaning up now is so much more manageable. And even a few months after our sessions, we are able to keep it so much more organized than ever before because of how she set it all up.
