I'm so glad I called in the pros instead of winging it myself. They walked through the space, asked smart questions about my cooking habits and daily routines, and came up with a layout that actually makes sense. Pots and pans exactly where I reach for them, a pantry system that keeps everything visible, drawers that don't turn into junk catch-alls. It's the kind of organization you don't realize you need until you have it. On top of the great work, they were easy to communicate with and respected my timeline. I'd absolutely book them again for another space in my house.

There was no way we could have unpacked and organized our kitchen and bathrooms over the next few weeks, which is what their team excelled to do in less than a day. It's our first time using this kind of service and Mackenzie, Chloe, Brittany, Mary and Melanie have officially spoiled us for all moves to come. Our home brings us so much joy now.

After I moved house, I had so many rent-a-crates to unpack and return very quickly. I felt overwhelmed and couldn't move two feet without hitting a box, and unpacking by myself was too slow. I contacted Terri again. Terri couldn't come out to personally help me within my limited window of time, but she has fantastic team members. Kammy came to help me, stayed for just under five hours, and we unpacked every rent-a-crate plus all of the cardboard boxes! There is a little left to do in order to make my new place feel like home, but Kammy's help means that 95% of the work is done. I am so pleased with The Chicago Organizer. Terri and Kammy are kind, professional, quite fair in their pandemic requirements, and most of all -- HELPFUL. Money well spent again!

Danna was quick to make a plan, ask questions and provide insight on value or usefulness, point out what she could easily find a new place for or what was not worth saving, recommend products that would assist in organization and make suggestions for systems to help grow with our family that we could utilize after our work together was over. We made such progress after two sessions that we used the remaining sessions to focus on other areas of our home (closets, bedrooms, etc.) I also felt empowered after working with Danna to start organizing smaller spaces in between sessions. This project has made our home feel so much more relaxing and less chaotic. The mental benefit associated with getting our home organized can't be overstated. We also really liked working with Danna as she was able to get the items we were no longer using to people who needed them the most (refugee communities, other organizations) so we felt good about sending items off to get a second life. Tuesday is my new favorite day because that's when The Organized Mama puts my life back together…read moreroom by room. 3 kids + a busy job= disastrous home! I've hired organizers in the past, but the majority of them require you to do the organizing with them...and if I had time to organize I won't need an organizer! They also leave my house in perfect condition and then a month later I'm back to where I started. A few months ago I had the genius idea (if I do say so myself) that I'd hire a weekly organizer to slowly get my house in order and then help me maintain it. I did a search on Yelp and beyond and discovered that there are many crazy people in this world who actually like to organize. I'd personally rather get a root canal. After chatting and even meeting with a few organizers I ended up going with The Organized Mama. I liked her personality (totally someone I'd be friends with), she didn't judge me as I took her thru my unorganized house and her hourly rate was inexpensive. Since then she's raised her hourly rate based on demand, but was cool enough to honor her original rate for myself and her other clients. Every Tuesday morning she enters my house and tackles a new room. Some rooms (like the kitchen) take longer than a week, but the wait is well worth it. So far she's worked her magic on my mudroom, kitchen, my daughter's hair accessory area (no joke- the girl has a lot of hair...and bows) and part of my office. She comes for a few hours and then bills me for the time she spent at my house + anything she buys (typically from the Container Store) to keep me organized. I only wish she could stay longer, but understand she has little kids of her own to get home to so will take any time she has. If you happen to be one of those crazy people who like organizing your own you'll absolutely love her blog.
