After I moved house, I had so many rent-a-crates to unpack and return very quickly. I felt overwhelmed and couldn't move two feet without hitting a box, and unpacking by myself was too slow. I contacted Terri again. Terri couldn't come out to personally help me within my limited window of time, but she has fantastic team members. Kammy came to help me, stayed for just under five hours, and we unpacked every rent-a-crate plus all of the cardboard boxes! There is a little left to do in order to make my new place feel like home, but Kammy's help means that 95% of the work is done. I am so pleased with The Chicago Organizer. While I"m pretty organized when it comes to work and my kids, I'm a disaster when it comes to…read moreorganizing my home. I learned a long time ago to leave that job to the professionals. I've had many different organizers in my home over the past decade and have most recently been using the "Duchess"...or duchesses. Brooke Milton came over for a consultation back in December and we made a plan to get my house in order for 2023. Thanks to Brooke this is one New Years resolution I may actually stick to! Since then Lily, who works with Brooke, has been coming over weekly and has made a ton of progress on my house. She spent the first month in my mess of a basement and I think got rid of half the basement. I think that's what makes Brooke and Lily so good at their jobs. Past organizers organized what I have, but they focus on the decluttering...and then organizing what you need to keep. And let's face it...the lack of organization comes from having too much stuff! Today she moved upstairs to get working on organizing our first floor. My 7 year old came home from school and opened up a drawer, which is usually full of crap (I mean toys). He yelled "what the heck? We've been robbed!" But even my 7 year would appreciated that he can now find what he wants thanks to the systems Brooke & Lily have put in place. And the rest has been thrown out or donated...and my kids have yet to miss anything that has disappared from the basement. Speaking of donations they also schedule a weekly donation service so that everything gets picked up right away! She first asked me a series of questions to give her (and I) an over-all view of the things I value in my life and what my goals were. I really liked that because throughout the rest of our conversation, she was able to draw the lines and parallels back to my core values and goals, which helped me see the vision of what I wanted in my home and my "things" more clearly. Kristyn was super receptive and kind and answered all my silly questions and concerns about the process of tidying up. I felt like we had plenty of time to go over everything she had planned plus go over things that were meaningful and personal to me that might not apply to others, so it was a very personalized thing which was really the most valuable aspect to me. Another thing I really liked, was at the end of our session she gave me "homework" to do based on our discussion and the tour of my home.
