I have been coming here since I was a kid and it's always been consistently good. I only eat breakfast at diners so I can't really comment on their other food, but their coffee, pancakes, omelettes, corned beef hash, eggs Benedict and home fries are all delicious. It's fabulous can't get blintzes like that anywhere in CT Sherwood doesn't do it right even though they are in Westport. Such a good diner for that part of FFLD county. Orem's is a staple of Wilton. I've been going here since I was a kid, so it has my heart. The food is very good, but there have definitely been a few times where I was disappointed. I guess it varies depending on what you get, but most times, I have been satisfied. I'm not the biggest breakfast person, but they make a killer breakfast. Their pancakes are outstanding - my favorite are the banana chocolate chip. For lunch, I highly recommend the reuben. I get it most times I go. They also make an incredible cobb salad. I came to Wilton for training and saw this restaurant on the way to another for lunch. I got seated right away and the service was great. I had a chicken caesar salad and it was very good. Would give this place 0 stars if possible. My mom had a gyro and definitely got food poisoning from it--probably from the sauce (~dairy-based), but possibly from the meat. I know this because my dad also had some of her gyro and also got "less" sick (but still sick) from it. Disappointed because I had heard this was a decent diner. We'll never go back. read more

Actually 2 stars for food and 4 stars for service. Orem's has been in Wilton for a long time but now is just another Greek diner serving average food (with Fairfield County prices). For lunch two of us ordered a patty melt and a chicken parm sandwich. Chicken farm was ordered with the $3.50 extras: lettuce, tomato, etc. What I actually received was a veal parm served open face (on wonder bread) with none of the extras. The veal was over-cooked with an unappetizing hunk of burnt cheese on top of this mess. Fries were unexceptional. Patty melt was, at best, just OK. Service was efficient and friendly. As always, this local favorite delivers exactly what you want in a Greek diner. The wait staff is efficient and friendly, plus there's plenty of parking to accommodate the number of tables inside. Found a HAIR in my soda hanging over a dirty glass ...Brought to the attention of the manager ..Unapologetic and flippant..Loss of appetite..Will not be going back there , but conditions definitely needs to be reviewed by state. I love this place! Now, diner food is diner food, so don't expect gourmet. That being said, my favorites would be anything breakfast related and the turkey bacon club. When you have a night (or day) where you don't feel like cooking and cleaning, Orem's is worth a visit. It's a popular place and there's always a wait during peak hours, but if you don't want to wait, do what we do and call ahead with a take out order. Friends and I have breakfast here at least once a week. Kid friendly, enough room that I don't feel like I'm bothering anyone too much with my noisy kiddo crew. I've eaten here for years. The service is great, the food is delicious, and the pricing is incredibly wallet friendly. The ONLY diner I will eat at ever again. I eat at Orem's for business breakfasts and on an occassional family outing, Breakfast lunch and dinner are all winners. Despite the active business, you almost always get seated. Parking is easy and service is good. My favorites are anything with an egg in it, virtually all the breakfast offerings and greek dishes. It is always reliable and doesn't break the bank. The food is fine for diner style although really expensive - for diner food. we've had good service and terrible service (in their defense it was very busy the day the waitress forgot two food items and overcharged us.) Dropped in for a quick bite on a Sunday night. Like a Wild West saloon, felt like everyone stopped eating to stare at us when we walked in. We were seated then ignored for around 10 minutes. A waitress was sitting right by us at the counter, doing nothing other than eavesdropping on my daughter and my conversation. At one point she turned and spat something aggressive. We had no idea what she was talking about and looked at her confused as she continued berating us about what she thought we had said. Suddenly she seemed to realize she had clearly misheard, and she apologized. Apparently (she explained) an older regular had walked in and sat in front of us who had soiled himself and she thought we were talking about it (we hadn't noticed and had no idea what she was talking about). Her apology didn't make up for the bad service, unfriendly staff, and lackluster food. Oh, and they got my order wrong. Oren's used to be a wonderful diner but everything about this was awful. Classic diner food - love their burgers. While the table service is pretty good, their checkout system needs some improvement. Every time I've been there, there is always some delay and confusion at the register. As I went to pay the other night, the host / manager was on the phone arguing with a customer about reserving tables and managed to misplace my check seconds after I handed it to him. He was so entangled with the conversation that he actually thought I didn't give him the check yet. Then he asked me to point at the table I was at and he was able to figure out what I owed. I knew the total and he did manage to get it right...but still...very unprofessional. read more

Not good. Breakfast ok. Go to the Post Road diner on CT Avenue if you want good, reliable diner food. Orem's is overpriced and the food isn't good. I am saying this from years of experience with the establishment and I'm beginning to wish that I had quit long ago. A waitress recently won an $85,000 judgment against the diner for harassment (the owners let it go on for years) and the wait staff is just ok. If you want a good burger try The Little Pub nearby. While they don't have breakfast, their food is excellent and the beer choices numerous. read more

It was late night and this was the only place open. Based in the Yelp reviews, I knew it was a risk but we were hungry and tried it anyway. The place closed at midnight, we got there at 11pm and only one other family was there. They had started cleaning so there was a very very strong smell of cleaner. It was very overwhelming and very unappetizing. We ordered french fries and a meatball sub. The staff was very nice and we did not have to wait long for the food but I ordered to go because the smell was killing me. Our hotel was a 2 minute drive. When we got the food it was about what I had expected . . . the french fries were limp, I could tell they had been frozen and then reheated. The bread for the meatball sub was okay, although it was burnt on the outside. The meatball themselves were just okay, I would not be surprised if they were also frozen, and the sauce tasted like Ragu . . . which is not terrible. Overall it did the trick for a late night meal but it was mediocre at best. I would not eat at this place if there was another option but if you are looking for some late night food and are not picky then I guess this could be your spot. read more

My main (if not silly) complaint if that they have no kind of crayon, placemat, kiddy activity. They have the kids menu and high chairs but no kind of kid mini entertainment?? The chicken parm grinder is a fantastic dish. But I have never enjoyed anything else on the menu. They are priced fairly and serve great milkshakes. The service is wildly inconsistent from visit to visit. Sometimes, they are slow and rude. While other times they provide top notch service. Orems is one of my favorite diners of all time. I live in Westport, and I go here more often than the Sherwood diner. I give this place three stars because the food quality is three star, and that's what I'm looking for when I'm in a diner. I love Orems, but I can't give this place five stars, because it's a very generic diner. The only thing that sets this place apart from the rest, is the great burgers, and friendly personnel. My only real complaint is this is the only place I've been to that gives their maple syrup in little cups, rather than in those little jars like all other places, which leads to a lack of a good amount of maple syrup for breakfast. Other than that, I'm very pleased with Orems, and every time I go there, I have a smile on my face, so it's all good :) read more

Ok food as far as diners go. Clean and brightly lit which is nice. The Greek dishes in the menu is a bonus.
