Buying a car is everyone's worst nightmare. Hours of sitting and negotiating with a push salesman. That was not our experience at all! My fiancé and I had been thinking about trading in our car and getting something better, but only if it worked for us. We didn't want a bigger payment. We happened to be driving by and decided to stop and just look at their inventory. Silly us, that's not possible right now. Cole came out and talked to us. Showed us what he did have in stock. He asked us what we wanted and listened. Looked at what was coming in that we were looking for. We not once felt like he was pushing us to buy anything. He got us the most for our trade in value and got us exactly what we were looking for. Our car took a couple weeks to get to the dealership. Cole kept us up to date at every step. He made sure we understood our car before we drove off. He even texted us a few days later and made sure we didn't have questions! 4 days ago we purchased a car from Brent Brown Toyota in Orem. Due to a mixup in purchase method Toyota received a double purchase amount from us ($20,000+). We made numerous attempts to contact Toyota to get the extra payment returned to us but salesman/manager/finance would not return our calls until we threatened to contact an attorney. Then they told us we could pick up the refund check on Saturday by 5:00 pm. When we went to pick it up they insisted they were unaware of any refund. So basically they are holding $23,000 of OUR money and refusing knowledge of receiving it. Stay away from this place!!! They are untruthful and you will get no customer care. We are hiring an attorney on Monday. Stay away from this dealership. Would not want this to happen to anyone else!! read more

They increased the price of the 24 Prius Prime without our knowledge by nearly $6k. All we were shown about the car was the MSRP. They only gave us "monthly payment" numbers which I thought was too high and they told me my math was wrong. Anyone who's signed papers know how much there is to read in all the documents, so it took a couple of days afterwards reading through to discover this price. I reported this on BBB but they claim we were "clearly shown" and refuse to honor the price we agreed with and claim we got a fair deal on a great car. The car is a different set of issues because we had to wait 5 weeks to even see it, which after realized our older vehicle we traded in actually suited us better. BE AWARE with anything they tell you. They told us first few oil changes and tire rotations were on them, but that was another paper we signed that added hundreds on top of the increase and all the other fees. I even noticed that before our car came in, they still had it listed on their site and they already put up the car we were trading in. Our old vehicle they claimed got 60 mpg...when even an unused same make/model/year never has! I don't know where they got that number to claim, but it was wrong. And they gave us diddly squat for it when they said our car was salvaged (which we did not know) claiming they would have a hard time selling it. They sold it the next business day after they got it. Sadly, everyone gets at least one star. The dealership is as you'd expect, car sales, no one likes dealing with them or those negotiations people in the separate room three feet higher than everyone else. So, the dealership is all about selling you what they want and at more expensive than you'd expect. There are no prices on the vehicles which means at anytime they can change jack it up for anyone. Don't be a sucker, research before you go and know what you want to pay, and most of all be willing to walk away and then actually do it! When you're ready to buy, if you have to come here for whatever reason, ask for someone whos been here the longest and ask how long that is because the guy who sold us our car at the end of November is already gone and was new. I've learned that you want someone with staying power, not someone starving for a sale. As for the maintenance department, they are fantastic! So nice, quick, and respectful. Too bad we can't have them and them alone to deal with ever. The rock chip guy is fantastic too!! Now to the best part about this place; the play room got kids! It's fantastic. Until now, I've never been in one before since I didn't have a kid until now and he wasn't with us when we bought the car. He's 18 months and we have to be here for 2hours to get the taillight cover fixed that was damaged when we bought the car.... yup it's been 5 months waiting for that... anyway, the play room ha a TV with cable yay lol lots of toys that look clean, hopefully they clean them often, kids are gross. Several kid chairs, and an adult chair so you can sit with them if they aren't old enough to be alone in there. It is its own room, no ceiling, open to the showroom by it minimizes distraction. The only real minor negative to the playroom is the door, opens out, which means the kids can push it from the inside...escapees if you will. read more

I've been working with Brent brown on trying to secure a 4 runner for several months. I was finally able to order the perfect 4 runner for our family. Unfortunately I didn't realize how much over MSRP Brent Brown would be trying to charge us. Initially we ordered the 40th edition 4 runner and I fully expected some sort of mark up. Little did I know that they wanted 63k out the door. Let alone 12k over MSRP on an SR5 Premium. ABSOLUTELY bonkers. I highly urge everyone reading this to call other dealerships in the area. They ended up offering $5,000 less than the low end offer for what was displayed in the online message, and wasted an hour of my day. The man who ended up helping me was not respectful at all even after I explained what I was expecting to be offered, it makes no sense to me how you can work on my car and have all the information on it in your system and give me such a wildly inaccurate offer. Got a text in the am from our sales rep Rick Elliot so we knew who to ask for when we got there and it was nothing but smooth driving the entire way. Car salesmen usually make me cringe but Rick Elliot was amazing. He was extremely personable and wasn't pushy in the slightest. We're from Vegas but would gladly drive all the way back to Provo if it meant dealing with Rick again. The finance manager Sheldon Williams was amazing as well. There was a fraud alert on our credit report and he handled it like a boss and explained everything very well. Thanks to Rick and Sheldon we drove off in our new car in less than 2 hours. This December 23, I went to your service area first thing in the morning to perform the second oil change that was due on my car for maintenance and since the tire light was on I asked Mr. Enrique to check it for me and he. He told me he would tell the mechanic. I left my car with them and stayed waiting. After an hour and a half they delivered it to me. I left there, traveled and haven't used my car much after that. On Thursday morning when I was leaving I heard a strange sound in my car and I didn't want to use it. When I returned, I didn't take it to where you are because I had to take the freeway and I was worried because I didn't know I had the car, so I took the car to check it out here in Saratoga near where I live and when I checked it they didn't find anything until a mechanic showed up. He realized that the four tires were poorly adjusted, that is, at the Toyota dealership on December 23, my tires were rotated and they did not adjust the will nots properly. I felt so bad because I trust you as a woman since I have no idea how to check your work at the time and it just crossed my mind, what kind of mechanics do you have? I drive alone every day 50 minutes on the freeway to Salt Lake, imagine the accident that I could have had or that I could have caused and my question is, who is responsible in this case? We bought a 2018 Prius here in fall of 2018. Lani Hedquist in the service department convinced my wife that Toyota recommends the transmission fluid should be changed at 30,000 miles. My wife declined the service in November 2020 but went back today for an oil change and did the trani fluid at only 40,000 miles. Very premature for a transmission fluid change. Then, Caden somehow replaced the catalytic converter with an after market part, that their repair shop had no knowledge about. Buying a car is pretty simple if someone will shoot you straight on it. I leased a Rav 4 from Peterson Toyota in April 2016. My lease came due this month so I took it to BRENT BROWN TOYOTA to buy out the lease. Should be easy because the buyout amount was already set at the time of the lease. My buyout should have been $18,500 after doc, title, and tax. I've worked it this industry as well as the banking industry before. Andy was the finance guy I worked with. He somehow came up with $1,000 in extra fees and said he couldn't budge on any of them. TCA fee$498 (said this had something to do with the police...WHAT?), License $150, Registration $82.50, Emissions $47.50 Electronic Filing fee $197,etc... ALL BS. Horrible experience. I felt like they wanted me to scare me out of buying the car so they could buy it off Toyota Financial services and sell it themselves. read more

But as the military says, a whole stack of "attaboys" can be wiped out with one "aw s!*t," and that's what this is. My daughter signed the papers to buy a Santa Fe and was waiting for her financing when another sales person sold the very same vehicle to a couple who came in after my daughter. And the dealership wouldn't do a thing about it. We've been loyal customers since about 1999 or so--20 years of loyalty flushed down the toilet. Yeah, go to almost anyone else. We offered their asking price, which was near Kelly Bluebook, but the power seat was broken - making it less valuable than book value. But as is stereotypical of used car sales, they wanted to play the "back and forth to the sales manager" game, they "couldn't afford to fix a broken seat" and our full price offer wasn't enough for them, they wanted more. It only makes sense that dealerships rip you off. If I hadn't asked for the cost of the battery all by itself, you would have inflated my bill $500 just for your pleasure. I arrived at the dealership and pulled into the service reception area, the nice gentleman holding a tablet informed me that I had no appointment scheduled in any department, not service, not accessories, or any other department. Called to talk with their customer service representative and it continually goes to voicemail. Don't waste your time here, buy somewhere else, get your service somewhere else. Where to begin, this has been an extremely long and horrible process from dealing with extra charges to lawyers and brent brown refusing to ever respond or making false promises they never keep. In January of 2024 I went in to brent brown toyota to buy a new rav 4 as my wife had just had a baby and I wanted them in a new car. Our salesman was great and we picked out one that we liked. This is where the nightmare began. We were originally planning on trading in our old car and putting 5k down in cash. The finance officer messed up the paperwork and had us putting 7500 down, then increased that to 10k down plus our trade in. Seeing that we had the extra funds. I didnt mind but they ended up doubling the cash we put down. We filled out a loan for the rest and went on our way. They promised to send us documents because they couldnt give them to us that day. Over the next month I reached out via phone 7 different times, Sent 5 follow up emails and even went into the dealership twice to get the loan documents. Each time I was told they sent them or were sending them right away or would the next day. When the documents never came I knew something was up. Finally our loan showed up on the account. We had agreed to buy the car for roughly 36k and we traded in our old car for a value of 3500 and put 10k down in cash. So all in all we put 13,500 down on a 36k car but the loan showed up on our bank account for the full 36k. I began calling again and again and showing up to the dealership to get this taken care of but was always turned away or told the finance department wasnt there the days I went in. I got so fed up I turned to a lawyer who sent a demand letter. Suddenly the dealership was my best friend and promised to get to the bottom of it. They agreed with my lawyer to refund 5k to our account, not the full 13,500 that had somehow disapeared in different warranties and fees but at least it was something and I decided to accept it. The funds were supposed to be returned to the loan in the month of March with a deadline by the end of March. Here we are in April, 3 months after the fact and the dealership claims they have no record of ever agreeing to this with us. So now I am forced to file in small claims court which my lawyer is doing right now. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS read more

Don't go here! Worst experience at a Toyota dealer, ever. I will never go back to Brent Brown Toyota. Nor would I ever recommend this terrible place to anyone. I have driven Toyota vehicles since 1983. I have never had a complaint about a Toyota dealer until now. Took my brand new Tacoma, less than 2,000 miles on it, for a warranty repair. The service technician was quite helpful, but the dealership did not have the required part in stock. He went into a small glass cubical to talk to the service department manager. The service department manager came out, clearly very agitated, and said: "You drove it off the lot. We're not going to fix it." I told him that this was warranty repair. He told me, loudly, aggressively, and profanely, that Toyota doesn't offer warranties on new vehicles. Repeating that since I drove it off the lot Toyota was not going to fix my Tacoma. I finally went to see the general manager, who was not so loud nor profane as the service department manager, but was equally unhelpful. I finally left the dealership after the service department manager threatened me with bodily harm. After I was safely off the lot, I called the Toyota call center in Atlanta, GA. The call center verified that the required repair was covered by warranty. I was able to get the repair done at another facility. I will never visit this dealership again for any reason. That Toyota allows such unpleasant, unprofessional, and dishonest people to sell their cars cheapens and degrades the brand. read more

Hands down the worst experience I have ever had in buying a car. We were purchasing a 2024 4Runner. We were going to do a wire transfer for the down payment but the banks were closing so we decided to give them a check. We wrote the check for $26,000. The following day the wire transfer got sent anyway for $26,000. Once we realized what had happened we immediately got on the phone to try and fix the situation, this was the same day the transfer got made. We called the front desk, the receptionist asked our name, we gave it and said we needed to talk to Andy in finance, we got sent to voicemail. I left a message and waited about 30 minutes and didn't hear back. I then called back and asked for Jordan, my salesman. He forwarded my call to voicemail. Called back again asking for Andy and supposedly he was out. We expressed what happened to the receptionist, she said she would personally have Andy call me. We didn't hear back that day. We were finally able to get ahold of Andy the next day after multiple calls and demands that we speak to him now. He was very evasive when speaking to me and said he knew nothing about the situation. At this time he also let me know that he switched my loan from AFCU to Toyota finance. We had already signed all the paperwork and agreements for the loan to go to AFCU. This felt very shady. They still have yet to tell me about the interest rates and why they switched this without my permission. Andy ended the conversation stating he would work on seeing what he could do about the $26,000 the dealership now owed us. We didn't hear back for some time. This became frustrating so we again called the dealership, by this point the receptionist knew who I was by my voice. She continued to get frustrated with me calling and hung up on me 3 separate times. I had a friend call back for me, she said we needed a response back on the issue within 15 minutes or we were sending our attorney and the authorities over there. At this point it was clear they didn't want to help with this issue and were trying to scam us. I received an email from Andy. He said he would cut a check and who could he make it out to. We told him who to make it out to. There was a clear understanding the check would be ready to pick up from the dealership at 5:00pm. I sent my dad to pick up the check because it was clear they didn't want to assist me. When he went to pick up the check, the receptionist, Jordan, and Andy, said they knew nothing about a check needing to be picked up.... My dad left and he called a woman from the main Toyota office, I wish we could get her name... She was the most compassionate person and very understanding of this situation. She couldn't believe what happened and she fixed the situation almost immediately. It was due to her kindness that we were able to get our $26,000 back the following Monday. I will NEVER do business with Brent Brown Toyota again. Our entire family drives Toyota vehicles. They too will never be doing business with Brent Brown Toyota. They are the most unprofessional people we have ever worked with. The receptionist was more than childish. We also discovered that two weeks following the sale of the 4Runner and all the paperwork being completed and signed that they were STILL running my credit. This made a massive impact to my score, this is also something they claim no responsibility for. We STILL have no answer as to why we have a loan through Toyota Finance and not AFCU (where we already had an account for our previous car loan). We still haven't been able to verify the interest rate on this loan through Toyota Finance but if I had to guess, solely on the way Andy does business, it is higher than the interest rate we signed for from AFCU. I also waited until after I received my plates and registration to write this review afraid they would withhold those things from me too. When I went to pick up my plates, I was helped by Andrew in Service. He was awesome and extremely friendly. Other than all this BS we had to deal with, we love our 4Runner and it's an awesome car. Best experience by far. We had Tom Shields as our salesman and from the moment we walked on the lot it was like working with a friend. He was very helpful by answering all of our questions and when it came to purchase price it was by far the best price on the car. Nate Casper in finance was amazing and even helped to change us from a lease into purchasing the car when he could see that it was better to purchase rather than lease for us. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else. My parents are loyal customers here. After my car was totaled I went on the search for a new one. I spent hours test driving cars for a week after work every day and found the one I loved at this location. I checked to be sure it was still there and was informed it was. I was also informed that someone else was coming to test drive it this evening, BUT if I got there before then and signed for it, it was mine and they'd tell the other people it had been sold. their claim, "This is a first come first serve store. If you're there first and you sign, the car is yours!" So I got there 2 hours before the scheduled test drive for the other folks. I signed. I waited and all that was left was the offical payment but everything was done and I was promised the car was mine. After waiting while the car was being detailed, my rep suddenly comes back to tell me that my car was somehow sold from under my nose. This location seems to love making promises and quoting mottos that arent relevant to their actual ethics. And knowing how many cars my family buys and gets serviced there evidently means nothing either. Loyalty is not important to this location. 0/10. Would NOT recommend. Seriously, find a better place to go that wont screw you over. read more

I bought a used tundra in December and it had been hands down, the most frustrating, worst buying experience of my life! I went there to look at a different Tundra but the truck was being test driven by another customer. So the salesman walked me around the lot, showed me a few tricks I wasn't interested in. I had to look online at there inventory to find one in my budget because he had no idea what they had. Finally we found an overpriced tundra which I pointed out was overpriced. He said he'd throw in Tires, tints and Bedliner to "sweeten the deal." I also said I wanted to take the paperwork into my credit union to finance with them and he said it wouldn't be a problem. So he sent me to there finance guy down the hall. I again told the finance guy several times I wanted to finance with my credit union and he said "oh yeah we work with your credit union, but I'll get you a lower rate with another one." He did not explain any of the paperwork, rushed me through it, To the point I had no idea what I was signing. He even said one paper said "this basically says we're not promising to buy you lunch." He also, without asking added another $875 for gap insurance and added $4000 for "accessories" (the wheels, tints and Bedliner). It's my own fault because I should've taken the time to go over all the fine print. I've always bought from a private seller so I don't know all the shady tricks dealerships. We had talked about doing a 60 month loan and I didn't want my payment to be more than $400 a month so when he said it was going to be just over $400 a month it didn't said any red flags that he was adding all these costs. Laterholr going through he paperwork I noticed he changed the loan to an 84 month loan!!!! Not to mention my interest rate was at 4.9% not the 3.25% he promised and not even the 3.5% my credit union would have given me. I had to threaten to file a complaint to the motor vehicle enforcement division to get them to take the accessories and the gap insurance off. They said hey would but it's been a month now and the finance guy still won't call me back or give me the time of day to redo the contract and take off the $4875. I've Gone in at least 5 times and called even more times to try and get it figured out but I always just get the run around. On top of all this the detail shop took the mats out of the truck and my sales rep promised me he'd get them back but then he said "the truck didn't come with any." And also told me he'd get another key, but that's a long shot. My salesman since then has quit. Probably couldn't handle lying to people. STAY AWAY from Brent brown toyota!!!! I've told everyone I know to stay away. Save yourself the hassle of high pressure sales, and shady tactics and go somewhere else!! The truck is ok, but it's hard to like it because I had such a horrible experience. read more
