Purchased a car here a couple of days ago. We needed a car, and they had cars but that's about as good as I can say about them. They promised perks, promised to take off some fees, and threw in "free" $500 all weather mats to close the deal. After agreeing to their terms, they went back on every perk and promise they made. "Oh the free mats we can only do half off so you just pay $250!" And "oh yeah we can only take $73 off of that $500 fee. We just can't take off the rest of the fee!" Sales team needs help. If you can't offer things, don't lie about it. It just makes the experience sour for everyone. read more

I had a wonderful experience here. I worked with Josh directly for test driving and negotiating, though Jared also supported too. Both went out of their way to really make us feel welcomed. They really listened to what I wanted, respected my boundaries and I was shocked how straight forward the whole transaction was. At the end if it, Wayne processed the final paperwork and thanked us for purchasing with them. Everyone was professional, knowledgeable and just fun to work with. DO NOT GO HERE FOR SERVICE!! All I can say is, I feel like I'm getting the "girl" treatment here trying to get my CX-5 looked at and worked on. I took my car to a reputable auto shop for an oil change as it was due. The day prior, the oil level light was on, so I checked the oil to see there was barely any on the dip stick. I had also noticed few other abnormalities in the performance of my vehicle. Upon their inspection, they told me my car was showing signs of engine blow-by and it was consuming a lot of oil. They recommended I bring it to Mazda as I had a warranty. I promptly made an appointment at this Dealership with the given information I had about the diagnosis and issues I've noticed. I was completely and utterly gaslit and ignored and made to feel stupid for even thinking that could be going on with my car by the service advisor. Having a prior diagnosis/suspicion for blow-by, the car shaking when it starts, having a burning smell from the front end, grumbling at low RPMs, amongst other issues stated was not enough for the service team to look at my car. I was instructed to drive my car another 2000 miles and if it's burning oil, they'll take a look. One month and 2000 miles later, I brought it in and worked with a different service advisor who was much more professional about the issues at hand. I received a call from the warranty company before hearing anything from the dealer. Once I got a call from the dealer, it was confirmed that the car had a broken PCV value and engine blow-by. Maybe I wouldn't have cared as much about waiting if the problem was my AC unit or a touchscreen going bad, but instead, I was ill advised by the service team to drive it 2000 miles to see if it's burning oil even though that had already been stated, with a problem that causes really serious damage to the internal engine components like the pistons and piston rings. I brought the car in Friday 6/14/24 at 10:51 AM, today is Monday 6/17/24 at 2:10 pm and I've yet to receive any report or documentation from the service team. I'm beyond upset about how this situation has been handled and how I was treated working with the team here and they still have my car. read more

I told him what I was there for and didn't want any added extras and I already had financing. I got the car my wife wanted for the price advertised and was out in about an hour. Let me be clear, more than likely buying a car for most is stressful. When i came to the Orem Mazda dealership I had just come from the downtown SLC location and it was AWFUL. I mean, not just them being manipulative, pushing you too hard, and treating you like you were incompetent, it was worse. I came to Orem reluctant to even buy another Mazda after i came in to the Downtown location, though this experience was much better. I had Max G, help me find a car in my range and he was pretty exceptional and i hope others learn from him. I told him very directly that i was not expecting any BS and i needed him to be upfront, direct and genuine for this to work to buy a car. And did just that, he did not do what most do. He stopped talking and let me explain what i needed, which in the end worked because now i have a new car. This dealership is very family-owned company with probably a couple of exceptions the manager was nice, looked me in the eyes when i talked, and didn't interrupt. Many salespeople i find agitating but im also a ridiged personality. But i can't say anything better than that, so anyways thats my experience. read more

Let me be clear. This dealership is great. They do good service, the sales guys have got me to purchase cars twice now a Mazda 3 HB 2014 and a CX5 2017. They honored the tires for life once but won't again(which is going away which is pretty annoying so next time I need tires I don't get it due to change in ownership) If this was a review for the shop it'd be a 3 maybe 4 star. If this was a review for the service techs it would be a 6 star they are incredible. This is a review for Mazda cars in general and Mazda as a company. (As well as the change in management choosing not to honor previous arrangements) We love the car. It works great. The tech is crap. The infotainment systems have never worked well with our phones. Sometimes to get it to work we have to turn the car off and leave it off for up to 30 minutes for it to do some reset or something. This is true for our Mazda 3 and CX5. We only purchased the CX5 because we assumed the issues would have been fixed. Nope. It can all be remedied for $250 to upgrade and get the Apple play added but I think Mazda should just deal out and fix the problem themselves. Hence the 1 Star. If Mazda can't take the blame and fix issues for their crap software then they don't deserve my business or anyone else's businesses. read more

It's a really nice dealership and we loved that it was family-owned. We met a few great people that were very helpful and considerate. Our salesman Max, however, was one of the most abrasive, hostile and condescending people I've met in a while. I genuinely loved the car, but seriously considered coming back another day just to work with a different salesman. He tried to pit my spouse and I against each other, called us silly and talked down to us throughout the entire experience. Even when I was asking questions simply to try to better understand the process he was aways snippy and sarcastic with his responses. We were so excited to get our first car together as a couple and I can honestly say he sucked all the fun out of the experience with his demeanor. My husband and I found Orem Mazda severely lacking in transparency. Additionally, the way the salesman worded things was pretty manipulative. Told us that a Mazda 6 had had only 1 owner. We look at the carfax, and it had had 2 owners. Told us the Mazda 6 was for sale for 20,000 when it was listed as 19,030 on the website. We agreed to a price, then he came back with a higher price than what we had agreed on. When we stated that we wanted an independent mechanic to look at it, he asked why we didn't trust their dealership to do the checking (manipulative). The worst part- and why we are never going back to Orem Mazda- was when he brought out the payment options. Gave us some line about being first time buyers, our credit score (even though my credit score clocks in over 800) etc., and then places the most ridiculous payment options in front of us. I know how to do time value of money calculations and so I know that the numbers were about $100 higher per month than they were suppose to be. So hidden fees. My calculations matched what our pre-approved credit union was giving us. So I don't know why they weren't matching the ones the salesman placed in front of us. Other than they had stuck hidden fees into it. Because even with the higher interest rate that he was quoting for us, my calculations did not match his. When I complained about the payment, he started pressing me to tell him what I was willing to pay per month. I know not to do that- they'll put us on a 7 year loan or something. When I refused, he became very pushy and manipulative (going on about how I wouldn't give him the solution of telling him what I was willing to pay per month). We walked out. Felt we could not trust anything he said to us. Even if the Mazda6 was a good deal that they were offering, we could not trust what anything that he was telling us. read more

When first looking to buy a new car, I found a Mazda CX5 on KSL. Orem Mazda was running an add for free tires for life, I emailed them a screen shot of it because they didn't believe me. When purchasing they wouldn't honor that add and they instead offered 50% off new tires for life. When it came time to need new tires they wouldn't honor that agreement because they told me I hadn't regularly been getting my vehicle serviced at their dealership. I was going to another Orem dealership that was much closer to home. It didn't matter that I had been getting my tires rotated every 5000 miles at an authorized Mazda dealer, they wouldn't budge. They shorted me by $2,000-2,500 on my trade in right at the beginning as well if we're going off of Kelly Blue Books lowest figure. My fault for accepting. After 3 years of leasing I decided to buy the car outright and per the usual for car dealers, they do a great job at hiding so many costs and making it seem like other things are needed and now I'm going to pay about $42,000 for a car that was originally $28,000 new. Pretty frustrated about our experience this past weekend. The very first thing we said when we walked in was that we needed them to pay off our trucks loan, and the sales man said that wouldn't be a problem at all. We were there for hours. We drove from sandy to give them our business because we had test driven a car there earlier in the day. We verified at least 10 times that we couldn't make the deal unless we were able to trade in the truck for the whole loan. We were reassured that it would not be a problem. We were about to sign on the new car, and my husband pushed them to assess the truck. They wanted us to sign first, then assess it. Well, he finally got them to assess it. And wow. They were trying to screw us over big time. The service manager comes and offers 10k UNDER what we owe and what they're selling for. They tried telling us it was sellling for 17k near by, but then I looked and every single one of the same make and model is selling for over 23k. They were lying straight to our faces and got all defensive when my husband presented facts they didn't like. We spent HOURS there. Had they been up front and honest with us, we probably would've still purchased the car. But wow. They knew what they were doing when they pushed us to sign before the truck was assessed. I am very frustrated that they had so much blatant disrespect for our time and requests. We wasted time with our kids, our money for gas (around $50 im guessing) and our weekend. We ended up ordering our car from another dealership yesterday, who were very upfront and honest the entire process. I am happy that my 50k purchase was with someone who respected my time and respected me as a person. Word of advice to management, don't string people along for 5+ hours if you don't intend on following through with what you've promised. read more

We were not notified by orem Mazda but were contacted by a new to us credit union with a thank you for creating a new account. I did not authorize orem mazda did this. Then 4 months after owning the car we scheduled to get an oil change because the sales man said labor only. Then I was told I would have to pay for the filter only the oil was included. Beware of the sales staff they will tell you what they think you want and come up with excuses later. Not lying just car sales I guess. read more

On Saturday 4/3/21. I went to Mazda dealership in Orem to pick up my car Mazda 3 2016 from being serviced for its alignment. I went to the front desk to ask to speak to Debra regarding a voicemail she left. I sat down with Debra and said "I was curious to see what my trade in value might be" from there she asked what kind of car I would want to trade my current car in for. She then presented me a used 2018 black hatchback Mazda 3. She asked if I would like to see it in person and I said sure. I looked at the car, drove the car and liked it. The next thing she asked was if I was willing to trade in my current car. After looking at the car I said yes. We went inside and I provided my employment information and selected a payment amount for the new financing. About after an hour of waiting I reviewed my other current payments I have currently and realized that this loan was not something I could afford. Sick to my stomach realizing this car purchase is not something I wanted I went to the front desk and asked to cancel the transaction. I explained that it would be too much of a financial strain at this time and I cannot afford it. They told me to take a seat and sent over an older gentleman, he said he talked to the finance group to lower my payment. At this point I felt there was no way to get out of this situation. I shortly went to the financing office where they promptly had me sign document to secure the new car loan. Going home very anxious about the entire situation I couldn't sleep and was throwing up due to intense stress. I returned to the dealership the next business day, sat down in the office to discuss with the sales manager Jesse and the lady who sold me the car Debra. I stated that I cannot afford this loan, that I felt too pressured to leave the situation before signing and that I would like the contract rescinded and that I have returned the next business day to do so. The manager stated, "that is not our policy" and "we do not return". We stated that it does not state any verbiage of no returns in the contract, only that the seller can agree to a cool off period or legal cause. We stated that if legal cause is our only option at this point, we will have to move forward accordingly and left the dealership. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. I'm not one to leave bad reviews but in this case I am highly motivated given the levels of dishonesty and ethics violations by Orem Mazda. When I was shopping for a car I insisted and was given assurances that the car I was buying had a clean title. Sales staff even produced a fraudulent 'clean' CarFax report that showed the car had never been in an accident. Lo and behold some months later an accident 'magically' shows up on the CarFax report that occurred on a date PRIOR to my purchase date. The vehicle was a LEASE VEHICLE MANAGED BY OREM MAZDA. Let that sink in for a moment. Orem Mazda will gang up on buyers, apply unreasonable pressure, distort and manipulate, and outright lie as to the conditions of sale. STAY AWAY. I have been to most of the other Mazda dealerships locally, they are all good dealerships and Orem is the lone black sheep. Sales staff there behave like a bunch of cocky college frat boys. I have read the other 1 star reviews on here, and I can 100% agree with the statements made by other customers who got screwed over by Orem Mazda as they convey experiences parallel with mine. All the high ratings come from staff and friends of staff. Which is entirely consistent with their other business practices (i.e. lying). read more

With some of the negative reviews about Orem Mazda, we were hesitant to use this dealership; however, we had a fabulous experience with our sales person, Debra. We had located a car on the Internet and scheduled a test drive. Debra kept us informed before, during, and after about the car and its features. She has great interpersonal communication skills and is warm and friendly. We tend to dread the car buying experience, but this was surely the most pleasant we've had. Went in knowing what a good price was on a Mazda3 after looking for 2 weeks. Also had a wide range of estimates on my trade. My salesman was great, but upon meeting the manager, Justin, who was arrogant, the deal fell apart. Besides him calling me a liar about what I could get from my trade, he was so ridiculous in how he handled things with my soon to be cash deal. I can't reccomend this Mazda dealer to anyone. Read other reviews and then run. Find any other dealer and I'm sure you'll be treated better. I bought my new car and got a much better deal. Short experience: they rip you off Long description: I purchased a car from Orem Mazda and was given "expedited" finance because we were there way after close and had plans. I was told there were no additional warranties charged. I reviewed my paperwork after getting insurance and noticed they added Millennium Coverage onto my loan for over $2000. I purchased a 2016 vehicle. Why would I purchase additional coverage knowingly. When I contacted the sales manager, Tyler Eastman, he said he would send a cancellation form to my email. All I had to do was fill it out and the money would be put towards my loan. After receiving the form on 12/3 and sending a signed form back to Tyler and Sean Smith, my salesman, on 12/7 I have yet to see any money returned. I have sent 2 follow up emails to Tyler on 12/11 and again on 1/14 with no response. read more

Save yourself some money and heartache and do not purchase a car from here. Actually purchasing a car was alright, it's just the service department that is plain awful. They rope you in with the "tires for life" thinking you are getting a good deal, but it's more like eh, and ultimately leads you to doing pointless other updates in order to qualify. If I could give this interaction a zero stars, I would. They are so unprofessional. I've shopped here for years and have purchased several cars, but this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. I went in to talk with one salesman and floor manager and got all the numbers I needed to in order to buy out my lease. I asked every question I needed in order to buy out my lease. The floor manager gave me a final number that included the dealer doc and licensing fees (which they don't normally do), which I verified with him twice before I left there to check what my bank could give me for a loan, with the number given me. I came back the next day to buy my car, after verifying with my bank, but the floor manager I worked with previously had left for the day, so I spoke with another floor manager. He had no record of the numbers I had been given the previous day. He had completely different numbers, doubted everything from the prior discussion with his coworker, and wouldn't honor what the other floor manager said, even after talking with him on the phone. He also WOULD NOT let me go and get my loan through my bank. And he wouldn't give me the paperwork for the lease buyout to take to the bank because "they prefer you finance through them." He held my lease hostage until my bank was closed and I had to finance through them... Then when I had to give in to buy finally, after sitting around for 2 hours and after my bank had closed due to him just sitting around talking with his buddies, they gave me surface numbers. Then all of a sudden there were additional fees on top of what they said the final prices were. Then when the lot tech was putting on my temp license, he stripped the hole when screwing it in...this place is a circus. The only guys worth talking to is the finance guy, who simply has you sign the paperwork that includes what he is told after the deals are done. DO NOT LEASE from them unless you know all the fees involved, both on the front and back end of the leasing process. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM unless you work with the same salesman throughout the whole process and get ALL of their PROMISES and PRICING in writing. If anything, go somewhere else to get your car. If you want a Mazda, just save yourself the trouble and go to a different dealership with honest salespeople and managers. read more

Kept bothering us to take the bad reviews we have left them because they think they took care of everything for us. We drove numerous times from Santaquin to Orem and they were going to give us a $200 dollar gift card for all the stress they made us go through. It has been over a year and we never saw that gift card, nor did they ever follow up with us. That to me, is a way to lose a loyal customer. We test drove three vehicles and he was kind enough to have his girlfriend help us test the Bluetooth systems.
