Overall, great experience. We ended up walking out with a Mazda 3 that we love so far for the price we wanted. They were willing to negotiate to the price we wanted and they were very kind about it and definitely not pushy. Our only frustration was that we wanted to buy a certain color and interior quickly and since they didn't have any of that model on their lot, they had to do a search to bring one in. My husband searched the internet and found the cars in different states that matched our description before our dealer got back to us, sometimes he didn't find any at all, so do your homework and know your options. CONCLUSION: We are really happy with our experience and appreciate the help we got and beyond anything else, the FANTASTIC price. Total scam artists steer clear. Verbally agreed and out the door price and then tried to add on $2k dollars in "fees" when asked to provide a break down for that total they provided a verbal breakdown that didn't add up to anything like that amount and when asked to write it down they refused. There service department is lacking. I was given a runaround. All service was performed by a mazda dealership but that was not enough for them to honor the warranty. They told me over the phone that all I needed was my service records. When I arrived they said that wouldn't be enough. Offered me an overpriced low quality product. When buying a car, you have to bring your A game. I was hard-to-get with these guys but they quickly worked with me. There was an issue with the car in question but when I showed up it was already in the body shop getting repaired (the body shop took much longer than anyone expected, but that's another review). I worked with Aaron and Bryce who quickly got me going and looking at the model I desired. They were open and honest about what they knew and what they didn't. When they pushed a bit, I pushed right back. They took my trade as it was for a competitive price and were able to get all of the details arranged quickly, and negotiate a solid agreement for the final cost. Extras and other services were offered, but not pushed. Arranging financing was extremely simple. They even offered to deliver the vehicle to me when it was done in the body shop! Upon receipt, the car was as-described and in impeccable shape. Orem Mazda is now selling my old car and they put me in a new one that I love and will keep for a long time. I am closer to the parent dealership in Bountiful, but they got me free oil changes for the life of the vehicle. If you're after a Mazda, or if you see something else in their inventory which is appealing, I can certainly recommend this place. read more

It wasn't until his manager got involved, then the manager was kind of pushy, trying to get us to buy it right there. Overall it was a good experience. I purchased a vehicle online from Orem Mazda. I had spoken to a number of other dealers and thir document fee was $199-$299. Someone told me the State of Utah had established a document fee of $299. Orem Mazda charges $349 for some reason. When I questioned this I was told that it was their fee. Then I was told that there was an additional charge for a service called "Shadowmark Theft Recovery" and the charge was $297. I told them I did not need this service but they insisted that it was already on the vehicle and could not be changed. When I got the document for the "Shadowmark Theft Recovery" it clearly states: "Purchase of this product is optional, and is not required in order to finance, lease, or purchase a motor vehicle." When I asked again to have it removed I was told that it applied to the State of Utah, not Orem Mazda. I don't understand. If I could I would return the vehicle and go somewhere else. read more

I am NOT one who typically turns to social media to complain about businesses or the people who run them... I know that one bad experience doesn't define a company. However, a combination of bad experiences at Orem Mazda has gotten a little out of hand: After buying a car in December, we were told the previous owners had kept two of the rear head rests and the second set of keys. We were promised by the salesman that within a FEW days, we would have both at no charge. We drove home somewhat frustrated with the way we were treated (the manager was very condescending when we explained our financial situation), but altogether happy that we'd received the car we wanted. We showed the car to my mom who immediately noticed a University of Utah metal decal that Mazda had SHAPRIED BLACK so it would be less noticeable in the dark, rather than removing it. When we told the manager, he said "Oh, that's easy to remove. It will take us about 10 minutes." If that's the case, why wasn't it done in the first place?! I haven't heard anything until yesterday, now three months later, only to find out that the headrests are JUST NOW here. I told them I'd be in today to get all our repairs done (including replacing a recalled part, removing the decal, picking up the LONG overdue headrests and second set of keys). He said it would take half an hour, and didn't ask if I'd like to make an appointment. Now, after TWO HOURS (they said it would take an hour and a half because I didn't make an appointment!!), they have only removed the decal, and are just now working on the recalled part because I reminded them to. We also noticed that they ordered the WRONG headrests (they don't even fit) and the dealership won't give me a second set of keys until they talk to the salesman (who ironically no longer works here). Needless to say, I will NEVER be coming back to Mazda. Terrible customer service by every single department (the manager, the salesman, and the parts department), and no one has done anything they have promised to do. If they had done a thorough check of the vehicle before they sold it (like our contract says they did), none of this would have happened. Very disappointed that they do business this way. read more

Very disappointed with my experience today. We went in to have them look at our car to buy, they looked at it thoroughly, drove it, and came back with an approved purchase price of $2800. We left to look at another car (that we were going to buy with the money we got from selling our car), and about an hour after leaving Mazda we messaged them and said we would like to sell it for the $2800. They said that they had changed their offer to $1700 and that was as high as they would go now. I didn't realize their offers only last an hour. We were very discouraged as we needed the money to buy a new car, and they didn't have the professionalism to honor their offer they had made us. read more

Here's an honest review: I felt like all they wanted was my money. When I was sitting down thinking about buying, they pulled every trick they could out of the book. "Hey Larry, can you toss me those keys so that other (fake) client can check out the car?" "Here's the carfax on the other vehicle you were looking at, I'd stead clear. It's a rental." (FYI unknown to me I bought a used rental!) They are not interested in being competitive on the price, they're loan officers in disguise trying to make your payment work instead of the price. Also, "free oil changes for life" somehow end up costing $35 every visit... what the crap. However, the maintenance place is great, they're good at what they do. Overall I'd stay it's still worth a visit, just put your big boy negotiation pants on when you go and know the market for the vehicle you're interested in. read more

Don't buy from here!!!! I'm actually really sad to leave this review because my initial thoughts when we bought our certified pre-owned Mazda CX-5 with less than 9,000 miles on it a week ago was that it was a great. I was feeling really confident that we wouldn't have any issues with it because it was suppose to pass an extended test to qualify for Certified. We owned the car 4 days when we took it to the DEALERSHIP for a car wash and when we come out there is a chip in our windshield! When we asked to talk to someone about it they said "oh yeah that happens if you have a spot on your windshield already and then you take it through a cold car wash on a hot day" and they refused to fix it. Despite the fact that when we bought it part of the certified checklist is that they checked the windshield very thoroughly. I will say when we bought it Lil' Wayne helped us out and really fought for us. I have no issues with him and I'm really grateful that he has tried to fight for us. But everyone else we talked to just dismissed us and didn't even give us 5 minutes in total. Won't ever buy from this dealership again. read more

When I came in to look at a couple of cars the sales person that came out to greet us ( I don't remember his name ) and was nice enough at first, then he asked if we were going to buy a car today and I told him we had a few more cars we wanted to look at and that my wife had just been in a car wreck and had to replace her car quickly, then he told us that if we were not going to buy today we could not test drive the cars we were looking at and to appointment during the week when it was not so busy. We went to buy a car a few months ago. My husband and I have less than perfect credit but had a chance to get a car. We test drove this car and decided to try and get it. They took us for a ride alright. They said that their financial guy was working with our credit union to get it approved. After a few days they called us down to the dealership. We got there after commuting only to get an 'I don't know' and a ' we still haven't heard'. My mum showed up because she had decided to get a car and when she came to talk to me to see how the sale was going the salesman turned to her and divulged all of our financials. I was so irritated I walked out and bought a car from Carmax. Turns out we had already been approved for the other loan and we found out what a line Mazda gave us. They had tried to sell us a dud with the line 'driver's awareness' when referring to the horribly rough ride. Stay away and keep your money. read more

As I was about to test drive a vehicle the salesmen continued to be unprofessional so I went inside to speak to the manager who was not any nicer. I'm glad a Mazda dealer is back in Orem. Since I bought my Mazda 6 in 2008 I have made a point to only get it serviced from a dealer. I have been very impressed with their service department. The employees are friendly and seem like they genuinely care. I might pay more that other service departments, but I still feel like I'm getting my money's worth. It's not common that i write a 5 star review but when i do it's because i mean it. Since the beginning i brought my 2014 Mazda 6 from a dealer hundreds of miles away (Southern California). I was greeted by Kyle Sparks who is the guy that helped me throughout my issues with my car and what i liked about him most was that he is always calm and has patients. Twice I've had issues when they were repairing my car, they would fix one thing but then something else would be wrong. (Small things) So when i would tell Kyle about my issue he had no problem fixing it, especially last minute. After the 5th time of being at the dealer for different things i had an overall great experience here at Orem Mazda, better than my SoCal dealer since they would actually replace defective parts and not claim that it just needs to be fixed or tightened. My warranty is coming to an end, but if i ever need something done i will take it to Orem Mazda, even though i noticed their prices are sky high especially on simple air filters read more

Best car dealership experience! I honestly went in just planning to test drive and expecting not to like the cars. Jim was the best salesman! To me with my experience he was more a friend by the end than a salesman. He did not view me as a paycheck and he wanted to find me the best fit for me, no matter how long it took. I ended up loving the 2013 Mazda3 better than the 2015. I wanted to try the Hyundai Elantra first to be sure I didn't like it more. I went to Hyundai and had the worst experience. I went straight back to Mazda to get my baby. I was not planning on buying a car for another month or two. Jim worked with me and gave me an amazing price!! BUYER BEWARE!!!! Orem Mazda is no longer the trusted, ethical dealership I once knew them to be. I have purchased 2 vehicles from them in the past 4 years and still own both. I paid cash for my most recent vehicle; pre-owned as opposed to my first vehicle which was brand new. When I bought my recent car, the sales manager urgently asked me if he could doctor the paperwork to make it look like I paid more cash for the car and then have me pay more cash upfront in exchange for a gift card refund so he could "get the deal done" and that it "would really help them out". I agreed, paid the extra cash, purchased the car wherein they told me to expect an email for the gift card refund. I never received an email from the dealership and when I later checked on the status of my gift card, they told me it should have come from a third party entity called edmunds?. I looked back through all of my emails (including junk and spam) with my salesman standing right there next to me and nothing was there. My salesman remembered the deal and told me he would look into it and get back with me. When he called me back, I was told "I checked into things and basically, the dealership has decided to take no action to refund your money because this is not the dealerships issue and we show no record of owing you any money." Even though my salesman verified that he remembered the actual deal, the dealership refused to be true to their word. It was only 200.00 but it's the principal of it all that upsets me, especially when the sales manager begged me to work with them and help them out to buy the car; which I did in good faith. Pretty sad that Orem Mazda has lost all integrity over such a small amount of money, especially to a loyal repeat customer who has now become a "never again" customer. Whatever you do, don't trust Orem Mazda but even more importantly, DONT PAY THEM EXTRA UPFRONT MONEY TO BUY A VEHICLE IN EXCHANGE FOR ANY REFUND......chances are they won't honor their word to you either afterall, it's not the dealerships issue!! Do anything you can to stay away. So lets start from the beginning, in 2012 my wife went to Orem Mazda and they absolutely took advantage of her. They talked a 19 year old women into buying a manual transmission Mazda 3. She told the salesman she didnt know how to drive a manual, he proceeds to tell her that its extremely easy and she'd have no problem driving it home (from Orem to South Jordan). As you can expect I get a phone call from her crying on the side of the rode about a half a mile form this dealership.... Doesn't stop there. So she tries to learn how to drive the manual and after about 2 weeks, decides she wants to take it back. So we take the car back and they tell us all they can do in order to not lose money is get us into a lease on a brand new 2013 Mazda 3. So rather than drive a vehicle she cant drive, we go ahead with the lease. Keep in mind she put 1000 down on the first car, and they tell us theres no way to get that back, we are just screwed. So we sign a 3 year lease on the new car. At 320 miles the car begins to jerk as your accelerate, this happens periodically about every 3 months randomly. We take the car in and we cant duplicate the problem. So they make a note on our account that this is happening. As the years go on, every time we take it in to do an oil change, we tell them its still happening and they tell us that they are making notes of it on our account. So when the lease is up we go in and tell them we dont want to purchase the car off the lease because we know of this problem and it hasn't been fixed. The salesman tells up "dont worry, you have notes on your account, once were able to duplicate the problem, we'll fix it, wether its out of the warranty of not". So for the second time we trust these crooks and purchase the car. Here we are in 2018 and they've duplicated the problem and they wont fix it becasue its out of warranty. Even though we have a note on our account stating that this problem was happening immediately after we got the car. Also this whole time they've only made one note on our account. We were told its our fault because we were telling the oil change department, instead of the service department. Seems logical that instead of telling us they were making notes the guys changing the oil shoud have been telling us which department we should have been talking to. Honestly thats not even half of it either. These guys will do anything to take advantage of you. Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else. read more

I am giving this a one star because you cannot give minus stars. I am not going to tell you how bad this place is. I'm going to tell you my experience and you can decide if you want to deal with this business. For weeks I looked for a Kia Soul at many different dealerships in Utah County and in Salt Lake. I corresponded through text and emails with Taylor. He was sooooo helpful until I walked into the dealership. He handed me off to "little Wayne" who was great. I knew what I wanted, I had my financing approved before I walked through the door. All this dealership had to do was let me test drive the vehicle and fill out paperwork. It should have been very cut and dry. I did this so I didn't have to spend hours and hours in the dealership... which I did. They ran my credit because they knew they could get me a better interest rate. They couldn't find a better rate and dinged my credit. I wish it ended there. Taylor promised me a 200.00 gas card, jokes for life and free car washes for life. I was told I would be getting an email regarding the gas card in an email. I didn't receive one. I called the dealership a couple times asking to talk to Taylor about this and he wasn't there. I figured because he was so good at answering my emails and texts I would try that. He didn't answer me for a couple weeks and finally just gave me a number to the company that handled the gas card. I called the dealership to complain and I heard, "I'll take care of this" over and over. Finally, the 3rd party person with the gas card helped me figure out Orem Mazda submitted the wrong email. My offer had expired by then and the 3rd party really stepped up and helped. I had my loan preapproved outside of Orem Mazda. They managed to mess up my financing as well. I received a letter from my finance company stating they weren't going to hold my loan. I called them and according to the finance company, Orem Mazda didn't submit my loan paperwork before my offer expired. Due to Mazda running my credit I was no longer eligible due to the hit my credit took. I called and got bounced around and finally, Josh in financing helped me. OH, I failed to mention I bought the car the last weekend in Feb I found all this out in April. Josh told me the company basically held my contract hostage until they paid back some debt they owed the finance company and Orem Mazda was switching banks so that's why. Orem Mazda didn't do my financing I did. Mazda didn't communicate with me about any of this until I started getting upset and calling. I had to do all the paperwork again. I discussed just turning the car back in but Josh said they I would probably not get any of my large deposit back because I'd had the car for 2 months. Then he tried to make me feel better by telling me I had the car two months without paying for it. They did not take the payment off the end. I still had a 72-month contract. Other companies bent over backwards to help fix the issues Orem Mazda caused. I asked what they were going to do for all my troubles. They said I was getting a 200.00 gas card. That wasn't from them that was from Edmunds. It didn't hurt them in any way. They blamed my finance company. My finance company made several attempts to contact them without them returning calls. I was so angry by this time I agreed to come in and redo the paperwork. Never did this company offer anything to compensate for all the mistakes it made. Josh puts in writing that I would receive excellent customer service from that day forward. He promised to call me when the financing went through. He didn't my finance company let me know my paperwork was completed. It is now May 24th. I bought my car on Feb 25th. I still do not have my license plates for this vehicle. I called today and a lady said she just barely submitted the paperwork for the plates this week. The paper license plate they gave me expires tomorrow. They promised that my plates would be there today. We'll see... I always try to find positives in every situation. Positives: "Little" Wayne was very nice and courteous but ducked out of sight a couple times when I came into the dealership. (I don't blame him lol) Monte in service was amazing. There was a problem with an electronic window mechanism and he called me set things up and completed the work quickly and super nice. The only other positive I can think of is ... I am POSITIVE I will never purchase another vehicle from this company again. Oh, another positive is I do get free carwashes for life one token at a time. So if I'm in a hurry I have to park my car... go in get a token and then get in a long line to get my car washed. read more

Slimy sales tactics? You bet! High pressure sales? You got it! Fast response to poor reviews? Super fast! Customer service... they lack that too! You'll regret your experience with Orem Mazda, but at least you'll like the car you're stuck with. Don't ask questions. Just sign the papers. You wont get an answer to the questions. Just don't ask. "What's the amount I still owe on my current lease?" you might ask. Don't expect to see the numbers. They will tell you "about" what you owe but miss the number by $2000.00 so it doesn't look as bad until they've got you sitting down to sign. Don't ask for a price reduction on the vehicle, they will just extend your loan terms to get your payment lower. NO, Orem Mazda! I don't want to be paying for the car for longer, I wanted you to lower the price like you told us you would. Seven times I heard my wife ask to see the paperwork for the lease we were in, and not once did we get a real number until it was printed on the contract. But after 5 hrs of chasing a toddler around your show floor, having questions dodged and knowing that the first time you were there to buy a car you got hustled leaves few options but to get raped a second time. As per your design. Four people confirmed that our first lease would not be a loss to us unless we did a "sell back" because "Mazda's maintain their value." FOUR!!! Including the sales manager! How convenient it isn't true after you're already stuck in a lease. We never would have leased the first time if they would have been honest. They would have gotten a sale, but not a lease. We asked them very specifically, (four different salesmen) we told them, "We drive a lot. Any time we get in the car it's a drive. It's a 20 mile round trip to the nearest gas station. High miles are expected. How will this affect the trade in value?" We were told, "It wont as long as you trade in or buy it, it will only hurt you if you do a 'sell back.'" Lies! And this was the same thing we got from all four of them. Four salesmen lied to us on paper, but not a damn thing you can do about it? That's not slimy at all! Tell them you don't want another lease because you drive a lot. Don't worry about it. They will still want you to lease. Tell them you want to buy. They will try to get you to lease. Tell them you want to see the invoice for the car you are buying. Don't expect to see anything. They will come back with something bogus like extended loan terms 15 minutes later, but because you've already been there all day and your child is screaming to go away and there's just no fight left in you and you know you're fucked, they've got you. You have no choice but to agree so that you can leave without losing anymore money on the car parked outside. Just don't expect anything but the stereotypical car salesmen experience. But good news, a bad review from your other half will result in a speedy call from the sales manager! Though don't expect any results from the call. Much like the missing key I was promised they would locate and get to me, their desire to help is as empty as their promises to lower the price of the new car to help offset that massive overhead you have because of the lies you were told the first time. They don't want a bad review though. "Bad reviews make them look bad." No... slimy salesmen make you look bad. Your inability to resolve issues makes you look bad. You're complete lack of service makes you look bad. Lying to get a sale makes you look bad. Giving me a bogus number to call you back on, makes you look bad. An honest review only makes you look bad if it's all true. So when you need a new car, you'll love your Mazda, but it's the last one we will ever buy. Thanks Orem Mazda for taking advantage of me and my family. Customer for life? NOPE! Nothing but lies from the time we stepped foot into the dealership. First, we were originally going to go to Kenn Garff but decided to try our luck at Orem Mazda. BIG MISTAKE. The sales guy that helped us was really nice until we got switched to a different sales guy that straight up lied to our face and even bashed Kenn Garff saying that they are a bad dealership and always takes back cars from customers. We went through the paperwork to see what type of loan we can get for a Hyundai Elantra. There was a lot of back and forth between the sales guy and managers. He came back to us at one point & said he isn't getting a clear answer so we might just have to come back tomorrow. Then someone gave him the okay- letting him know that we actually had gotten a loan through UCCU with a really good interest rate. He told us: "it was automatically approved, even if the bank goes back on their word they can't take it back. You will keep the loan how it is. But we need to do this tonight." So, we did it. We were shocked and really happy about the loan. We got the car we wanted!! But then, We get a call a week later saying the bank went back on their word and we would need to try and get a loan from another bank and put more money down. Eventually, after numerous bad reviews and the manager asking us to take them down & offering a gift card for our "troubles" they were able to get the loan back to normal except without the 100k coverage. So we did it, we got our loan and we got to keep the car. We have yet to get our gift card that they promised us from 3 months ago. So I doubt we will ever see that, even though they made us go back and forth from Santaquin to Orem numerous times. Even the license plates took FOREVER for them to give to us. They told us that they would pay for any tickets we could get for driving with an expired temporary license plate. Not realizing that would actually screw up my driving record. I will never recommend this place to anyone. I have told people my experience with Orem Mazda to friends and family & will continue to do so. I honestly wish I hadn't gone here at all. I loved my actual car buying experience, great car, great deal. I have hated their service department, I brought my car in for some recall work and had them look at something else. They quoted me 700 dollars to get it fixed and that was a complete lie, i took it to my regular mechanic and he fixed it for $25. They are there to steal your money and fix things that shouldnt be done. read more

Super frustrating. I called several times with questions about a used car. I was told it was in good condition with just a scratch on one side. I drove some distance to test drive and hopefully buy the car only to find the truth was a 3 ft crack in the windshield, totally discolored sun damaged paint, broken radio, broken a/c, brake light flashing, check engine light on and ABS light on! When I expressed frustration for my wasted time and those problems not being disclosed the salesman's reply was "well I never turned the car on." I won't ever consider Orem Mazda again. This was my first time buying a car ever. and they managed to make it the worse time. The sales guy the first time I was there was super nice super helpful. At the end I ended up getting the car. After almost 3 weeks they kept calling and calling that they hadn't done the paper work and I had to go back to resign everything and I was out of the state which I had told them yet they kept calling me while I was away on vacation stressing me out. To this day it has been 2 months and I still haven't received my plates for the car I went in because they said they had to extend the paper plates because they still haven't paid off my trade in car. Which the bank was charging me for. And I went to ask and the guy from the dealership told me to pay the bill one more month which I don't understand why cause I didn't even have the car anymore. Point is it was a horrible experience and still is. Still haven't got my other car paid off. And still haven't received my plates I told them I didn't want to get a ticket for driving around with expired plates. And they said not to worry because they could pay off my ticket like if I cared about the money. I've never gotten stopped and I wasn't planning on that staying on my record that I had gotten a ticket for something that wasn't even my fault. And the dealership people were still trying to blame me. How it was hard to get a hold of me. So they couldn't do anything. I bought a car from them in January and the tire sensor light came on about a week after. I called in and they said it was just the cold weather and would go away as soon as the weather warmed up. It never turned off. I was told the car had all new tires and by September one of the tires was bald. I went to a tire store to see if it was the alignment, and it wasn't. They said the dealership had sold me an older tire with all of the others. The tire brands didn't even match up. I had received a letter from Orem Mazda when I bought the car saying that I would get free tires for life. So, I called in and told them I needed to get it fixed. They laughed at me and said that my car wasn't included in that, even though they had sent me a letter telling me that it was. When I said that I felt taken and that if I had to buy I tire, I'd never buy another car from them he just said, "Do what you have to do." I have to agree with Courtney. There is nothing special about this dealership or the people who work there. Seems to be the typical car buying experience unfortunately. They mislead us about their inventory and also the negotiated price. In our case they didn't tell us the $1500 cash back was already included in the negotiated price so no 0% financing for me. Then they lied about the cost of financing at 2.6%. Also tried to hit us up for the "free oil for life" plan, which isn't free because they still require you to pay for the oil filter and the labor at about $60 a pop. I paid $55 for wheel locks that weren't there, then after a month of trying to get the salesman to either send them in the mail, or send me a check I still don't have them or my $55. It could be that this is a scam to get an extra $55 from their customers so if you buy a car with wheel locks make sure you have them before you leave. Also wanted to charge $799 for "clear coat" but we were laughing so hard after they asked -- couldn't stop thinking of the movie "Fargo" and protagonist Jerry Lundegaard -- that they dropped the issue.
