My urologist, Dr. Kilmorgan, is by far, an outstanding urologist who is not only highly intelligent, well trained, and experienced, but a man with a true human heart that cares for the human individual and the soul within. He did an outstanding job on me and I had the largest bladder tumor that he had ever seen. His supporting staff is also of the highest grade of professionalism possible. I called for an appointment to be seen for a ut problem. I was told they quit taking Atrio Advantage last week. They refused to give me an appointment. My primary dr wants me to be tested and the only place in Lane County is the Oregon Urology Institute. That leaves me being untreated or traveling over 100 miles to be seen. That is if I can find an in network urologist that will take my insurance. These drs don't care about senior citizens at all. They have a monopoly but refuse care to people who need it. It's sad how far medical care in Lane County has deteriorated. read more

This clinic is a joke!! First off, the doc I saw was so arrogant and condescending to me. He ordered a CT scan and when I asked the results I was told "everything is fine". IT WAS NOT!! There was a mass that showed up on the CT scan that was only discovered by a Nurse Practitioner at another clinic. It is cancer. So far, I've paid $800 to be treated with distain and to have important diagnostic information ignored. I do NOT recommend you go here if you want to get good medical care! I have never written a Yelp review before, not even for a restaurant, much less a doctor's office. My experience was not necessarily the fault of the provider I saw, to be clear. During check-in, it appeared that someone was training, which meant this sort of sullen young woman was peering silently at my information on the receptionist's computer, which was obviously pretty sensitive. I showed up about ten minutes late because I accidentally went to the wrong building across the street (my fault), but the receptionist was kind of snotty about it, and kept me waiting for a pretty long time to figure out if I could be seen that day. Frustrating because I waited about 6 months for this appointment, meanwhile getting extremely painful UTIs every 2 weeks or so. As I waited, a huge construction worker was loudly doing some kind of work or repairs on half of the lobby. Bad vibes all around, and I wish I had just left at this point. Again, the woman taking me to my exam room appeared to be training someone, a young man. When the woman took me into the restroom and explained in detail how to provide a urine sample, she asked the man to come in with us, so it was me and two people (including some strange man) in a closed bathroom, listening to someone tell me to part my labia, wipe, pee in a cup. Super invasive and uncomfortable, to say the least. I was starting to have pretty bad anxiety at this point, but I needed to tough it out because of the severity of my medical issue, because I waited so long for this appointment, and because there's no other urologist in town. In the exam room, the woman did an ultrasound of my bladder while this young man hung back and watched. I don't know what I was expecting, but she pulled down my underwear enough to expose my pubic hair and didn't seem at all concerned by this. No warning, nothing. I have a significant trauma history, but I think almost anyone would be uncomfortable with this situation. The 20 year old dude watching from the corner? Seriously, no thank you. My anxiety continued to rise until the provider came into the room and started giving me the normal useless advice. Cranberry supplements, yawn. So glad I waited 6 months for this. The provider then said she'd need to do a pelvic exam. I understand this is normal and expected, I really do. But I started having a panic attack right then and there. I was hyperventilating and crying, and felt completely ashamed of myself and couldn't control my reaction. Nothing about this appointment so far had made me feel like I was safe, so obviously this was the result. The provider spoke gently to me but could only say that we should not do the exam, which I couldn't agree to, because again, SIX MONTHS of constant UTIs had gone by waiting for this miserable appointment. So I went through with it. She found nothing. Not her fault, again, but ultimately a waste of time and pain. I checked out in a dissociated state, the woman doing the checkout process was unbelievably unprofessional, laughing and joking with the front desk lady who was carrying furniture through the office. I just didn't understand the atmosphere at all, I was so, so uncomfortable. I got a followup and an ultrasound scheduled two months out, and pelvic floor therapy scheduled four months out. The ultrasound is this week, and I just canceled it. I cannot go back to this place. I would rather go to Peacehealth for antibiotics 20 more times. It took weeks for me to feel regulated again after this appointment, even though I'm in therapy to deal with these kinds of triggers to my sexual and medical trauma history. Whether I'm fragile or not, this was still a significant setback. Again, I'm not a person who leaves bad reviews. None of this was really malicious, nor did it need to be. You might have a fine experience here. But if you have a trauma history, like I do, just be forewarned. This place is NOT trauma informed. That's all. read more

I think I am done with Oregon Urology. The Doctors, when you can get to them are Excellent, but the Business Model (Who is Running the clinic) that is being used is Broken. The Telephone system is Broken. Hold for a half hour at times just trying to get to the receptionist to schedule a appointment. If you leave a Call back message, you got a Code or extension number and goes right back into the pool of waiting. Not acceptable at all.. This was for my WIfe trying to do all of this. Now Me, I had a referral to this clinic from my family doctor, I was then Referred up to Corvallis (we live in West Eugene) at the Samaritan Urology department. Its a hour away from here. But having a kidney stone removed, I waited No longer than 5 days to get into surgery. In fact, the Doctor even called me the day after. I was surprised to see so many Negative reviews. I have nothing but praise for my experience aat Oregon Urology Institute. I saw Dr. Connie di Marco as a new patient beginning with a televisit in January, 2023, which made it possible to speed up care. (Originally there was a longer wait of six months.). I am an 83 year-old female and was having recurrent infections. Dr. DiMarco had a number of strategies including diet and medications. She also did a complete urological and gynecological work up to rule out other problems. After several months I no longer experienced the infections and again could enjoy an active lifestyle including travel. In addition to having superb medical skills, Dr.di Marco listens to the patient and explains changes with aging that are valuable to know. I now am seeing her yearly for check-ups. read more

Mark Wells, PA. was the best specialist that my spouse & I have ever had. Mark made sure my spouse was well taken care of earlier this year, & called on a daily basis to make sure he was holding up, as he had to wait for surgery for 2-3 months for serious Diverticulitis. If Mark himself didn't call, he had his staff do so, because my spouse was seriously ill, & had to be kept on hard core antibiotics while awaiting surgery, & Mark was right on top of it all! Further, I feel he saved my spouse's life. I will be seeing Mark next week, & have waited about 4-5 months for my appointment. I chose to do so because I feel that Mark is the BEST there is in Lane County, & I know his priority is my health. read more

Absolutely the worst experience I've had with any medical office. Ever. They simply do not care about patients; you are merely what they have to tolerate in order to pump into their pockets. My first visit, my exam was handled so roughly I left bent over and cramping for two days. The doctor was so busy they were literally running between patients. They had no clue who they were seeing or for what. Our first few minutes was establishing what the issues were and then they bolted from the room, no reason, and returned ten minutes later, and immediately started from the beginning with "Hi, good afternoon, I'm Dr XX, and what are we seeing you for today?" I mentioned we just had this conversation and they just laughed and said "Help me out here". I should have terminated then, but nope...OU is the only game in town so I thought I'd stick it out. My second visit I found I was scheduled (without my knowledge) for an invasive procedure there was absolutely no use for. They even admitted that they had failed on their end to let me know about this procedure. When I questioned the purpose or necessity, given I have a pretty minor issue, I was given a non-answer. I declined and left. The fact that they just don't care about the patient, their comfort, or anything was obscenely obvious. This place schedules a LOT of unnecessary procedures in my research. Which means its just for the money machine, not the patient. When I was trying to schedule a two-week follow-up appt, I was told it would be in January 2024....EIGHT MONTHS LATER. For a two-week follow up!! When I pointed out I was an established patient and this was a follow up (for the third time saying this) I got a heavy sigh and Please Hold. Over ten minutes later she came back to state she'd had the wrong patient chart (no apology btw) My third visit, I arrived to a madhouse. Both bottom floor offices were over run with waiting patients, most in wheelchairs and walkers. There were almost 30 people in the lobby I was entering more in the building lobby and out front, where there was a line of medical transport services dropping off MORE patients. What, 40 plus people all had the same appointment time? I checked in only to answer one question on a form, and 45 minutes later I asked "Am I going to be seen today?" I was told my CHECK IN was 45 minutes ago, but my APPT was not for another 15 minutes!! WTF?? An hour long wait was scheduled on purpose? That was it. I left. The last appt time I had, despite the appt card saying 2:00, and their spamming 12 reminder emails, texts and phone calls all said 2:00, when I arrived at 2:00 I was informed my appt was the NEXT DAY!! That made zero sense. I even played the phone message from one of the four robo-calls I got and the scheduler just shrugged. The front office is a disaster. The first visit one of the receptionists was loudly putting down her job, complaining vigorously about how it she hates it. Wow. Professional. The other receptionist that day looked like she forgot she had a job, with dirty messy multi-colored hair, and dirty wrinkled clothing with an attitude you couldn't miss, so condescending and rude with lots of eye rolls and sighing. The second visit, it was chaos at the front desk, just chaos. They turned the phones OFF in the middle of the day! Because the receptionist 'can't cope right now'. They are dragging the bottom of the barrel with front office staff. AND they have a sign out front saying they are hiring. You get the impression they will hire absolutely anyone willing to tolerate the complete lack of organization, zero professionalism and plainly obvious little to no training. It gives an extremely poor impression. They speak fast, furiously and with disdain to the patients, one and all. There is no concern for patients...this is a money mill, pure and simple. Each visit the dr had no idea what I was there for and gave me the what-for without ever making eye contact, saying my name, nothing. The notes entered on my chart were someone else's notes, and I brought that up. Absolute indifference, and to this day it still shows someone else's medical information (sans name) and issues. The online patient portal appears designed by a child and is not user friendly. Probably one of the dr's kids did it. Today, finding out that I was scheduled to wait an hour before my appt, dealing with that chaos of 40 plus people in a small space (I don't do well in chaos environment plus germs) and the poor quality prior visits, I chose to terminate and left. I will willingly drive to another city, even Portland, rather than deal with the cash cow/money mill and lack of professionalism in any capacity. Too many people will have no choices since this is the only urologist in town, but I do have choices. And a car. I've never left a review before, but I'm doing it just because this experience was SO BAD it has to be said. read more

Seemingly nothing has changed at Oregon Urology Institute. I absolutely abhor having to go there, although the doctors are very good. Even scheduling an appointment is a terrible process. I called today to get an appointment, was on hold for sixteen minutes and then a "busy" signal automatically came on and I was disconnected. Will try the sixteen minute process a second time. How such good doctors can work for such an incredibly bad staff and bad phone system, I don't understand and never will. read more

I am sorry offices are stressed now but OREGON UROLOGY has been deplorable with customer service and communication for over 6 years now. It can take up to two weeks to get a perscription filled correctly and that is with much of my ivested time for follow up. They refuse to notice the pharmacy's requests. I am sorry I am leaving I do not want to find out how bad the service will be when I may need urgent help. Dr Kohlmorgen gives good lip service but does not pay attention to details and my office visit communication. Twice I have been referred to this clinic by different doctors for different reasons, and twice they have not only utterly failed to help me, but left me feeling disgusted and angry. The first time was for testicular pain. Dr. Walker spent almost no time addressing that and instead focused on an unrelated part of my medical chart. He never did resolve my problem. Ironically, it was a salesman at a bike shop who did. My pain was caused by the bike seat and a simple adjustment was all that was needed. The second time was with Dr. Mehlhaff. I wanted to discuss the possibility of a circumcision reversal. He refused to even consider any options, acted like childhood genital mutilation is a "normal" thing, and (after being delayed by a half hour to see him) he had me in and out in less than 5 minutes. Also, I've never been in a doctor's office where a stenographer was taking down everything that was said. They must have been sued at some point. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Our family literally cannot say enough good things about Victoria Waltz. She is so kind and so thoughtful; she takes the time to truly listen and doesn't brush difficult problems under the rug. She is open to our questions and ideas, gives expert feedback on them, and is always so supportive. My dad is older and has other health concerns in addition to what he's seeing her for, and older patients know that it's not unusual for their concerns to be dismissed as being due to age; we appreciate her belief that older patients are just as entitled to quality care and to have their concerns addressed as younger ones. We think she is absolutely wonderful, and we cannot recommend her more highly for both her expertise and her caring. read more

So when u work in the medical field at a urology clinic I would assume the majority of patients are elderly or older folks... The line of elderly people trying to do an online checking on an iPad... a device they've probably never seen... is hard to witness... and then a receptionist who seems frustrated at the people who needed help with just the check in... meanwhile she's Trying to gossip with the other receptionist playing with the label maker... The nurse who called us back... talked so fast I had a hard time understanding her... she left my father who is .... you guessed it.... elderly... to give his urine sample and because she said where to go when he was finished so fast... he just stayed in the bathroom and she came and asked me where he was... once I asked her to slow down and speak up it was fine... I am just confused that I had to even say something... you would think the online check in system where we selected "hard of hearing" might have helped them adjust their behavior.... Sometimes I wonder how some end up in a field that deals with people when they lack people skills and patience... I still feel like I need to stand in the lobby and help the old folks with their iPads...thank god we didn't send our dad to this appointment by himself read more

They have a great policy where someone can make an appointment in your name without your permission or knowledge. This results in a missed appointment and a nasty certified letter letting you know that they will not see you again. Which is great because they are the only Urologist in town. When notified that someone had made an appointment without my knowledge their response is "go to portland". What a joke. I guess when you've got basically a monopoly on a certain area of health care here you can do whatever and afford to turn patients away without regard. read more

I just recently became a new patient at Oregon Urology unexpectedly due to a sudden illness. I don't have the words to adequately express how wonderful they are. Everyone from the front desk, billing, to the nursing, and physicians have been outstanding. They have gone the extra mile to help me deal with a very uncomfortable time in my life, and I am SO GRATEFUL that they are my urology practice. I have forty years in the medical field, and I KNOW good care when I am receiving it. I won't go back and spend any more time or money with these people. I live an hour and a half away from their office. Many things have to fall into place in order for me to make the trip there and back. First, it takes aeons to get someone on the phone and, after I did, I never had one appointment that did not get changed less than twice; one of them was changed SIX times. After one procedure appt., I asked the tech to check when my next appt. was because, by that time, it had already been changed 2 or 3 times. She wrote down the appt. time from the computer and I drove back the next day because that's what she'd written down. Turns out, what she had written down was from ANOTHER appt. that had been cancelleded and the Dr. was in surgery that day, so nobody saw me, I wasted 3 hrs. of my life and half a tank of gas. No apology from anyone. Another time, I saw the PA instead of the Dr., but waited an hour and a half in the exam room for the PA to get there. I fell asleep twice while waiting for her. The PA was quite apologetic, but things never improved. When I finally confronted the Dr. on a teleconference call about how disorganized her office was, she became very defensive and sarcastic about the scheduling of appts., saying I had to be lying about how many times my appt. had been changed - I wasn't lying and I wasn't wrong, either. I understand how chaotic running a big practice can be, but this was beyond ridiculous. It made me wonder what other important information was being dropped out, overlooked, or gotten wrong because they can't seem to get it together. I actually liked the Dr. I thought she was smart and funny and a sense of humor is important to me. I won't, however, waste any more time or money on them. It is too frustrating. I don't usually write reviews, but if this saves one person from that same kind of frustration, I will be glad it helps. Surely, there have to be other Urologists in the state who can run a practice without this kind of chaos and screwups. read more

My PSA has been rising for years. I'm new to the area and after my first visit and follow up tests the urologist suggested a 24 core biopsy to look for prostrate cancer. I called my past urologist from Austin and he was floored to hear they wanted to do such an invasive and low tech procedure. The AUSTIN doc said to find a place where you could get a special MRI just for prostrate cancer. The Eugene urologist didn't have any recommendation. After much research I found Oregon health science university in Portland had the specialized MRI equipment. I drove up and had the MRI done. No cancer detected. I've had a 12 core biopsy before and it was pretty painful afterwards and messed up sex for 3-4 weeks too. Sadly, doctors often prescribe procedures they make money on rather then what's best for the patient. As a patient you don't often know what your options are. I hope this review helps someone who was new to prostrate issues and testing/treatments...... read more

If you go here, be prepared for an expensive run around and over 30 day delays. I was diagnosed with high PSA onApril 30th., took till May 31st. to get biopsy, results on June 5th. Body scan wait is 2 weeks, finally results on June 20th. Zero information on exact cancer in my body !! THEN they cancelled that date, reset for June 28th, (doctor busy) while I had no idea of severity of cancer, that's two months past initial indicators. In 5 min. I was told i had a 9 ( of 10 ) positive result, NOT good!! Got 2 shots in stomach and ushered out the door. I was sent to the radiation section across town -- the wait is until JULY 27th. to start radiation, cancelling out my late summer plans by needing DAILY radiation. With copays for each visit, most likely. At that point I called Willamette Valley cancer, in Eugene -- got an appointment for a week out, with assurance that treatment could start soon after, anything would beat Or. Urology place by a mile. How would you like a 90 day wait to find a cancer of a 9 rating, it's criminal !!! read more

Knowing just how scary a surgical procedure on a child can be, . . . Oregon Urology was OUTSTANDING!! From the front office to the back, from the staff to the doctor. COMPLETE medical professionalism with the added touch of honest concern. Our visit was for our 5 year old child, so we were VERY anxious. The reception was quick & friendly concerning all scheduling & insurance issues. Back Office/Nurses were extremely informative with the procedure. Always making sure that we felt comfortable. Bringing warm blankets and continually checking in & answering all questions. The efficiency was impressive. The busy facility itself was immaculate. Our smiling surgeon, Ferguson Genoa G MD!! A fabulous woman with some very skilled hands!! She was welcoming & attentive to our questions. Obviously her technique is what leaves us BEAMING!! I strongly suggest going anywhere but here. For a minor problem, they scheduled four invasive tests that surprisingly could only be performed at their facility. When I asked about having them performed at the hospital, they said they were the only facility with the "technology". They billed my insurance $600 for a 30 minute appointment with a physicians assistant (the person who tried to schedule all of these tests), I was told I had an appointment with a doctor. I wasn't able to see the doctor until I performed the litany of tests the PA wanted. It screamed scam and unprofessional when I couldn't have the tests performed at any other facilities, so I decided to seek help elsewhere. Amazingly I got an appointment with a doctor who only had to run one non-invasive test to determine what was wrong with me, and I got to select where the test was run. my pcp spotted a tumer on my kidney , so I went to my urologist and was sent for a cat scan and was sent for a biopsy , the biopsy was binine so I was told I could have the tumer ablated i( burned out with Radio waves) instead of what my urologist said would have been a very painful surgery I have always received great treatment by everyone in the office and they where in no rush to biopsy my prostate when I have high psa numbers read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I am an elderly man living on a fixed budget. I was unable to pay a $50 "appointment fee" charged just to set up a time to have an examination based upon my doctors referral. This $50 fee is much like the property managers "application fee" except that these guys charge a fee that leave some people in medical pain without medical service.I have written a letter to the BBB and to the Board of Health.
