My mom has come to this store for the past 20 years to purchase vacuums and has always had a good experience; however, in November she came to purchase a vacuum and had a very different experience. Her intention was to purchase a vacuum that was light weight and cordless. She is elderly and needed something easy to handle. Because she had been there so many times, she trusted the salesman who decided to sell to her the most expensive vacuum in their store - a Riccar Supralite R10P. Online, this vacuum can be purchased from Vacuums360 for $749.99. My mom was told she was getting a sale price and that the vacuum was originally priced at $1,399.99. She purchased it for $799.99. When she got home, she realized two things: 1. She had not received the itemized receipt from the salesman, only the small credit card receipt showing the total. 2. While the vacuum was light weight, it was too powerful and she was not able to control it. She brought it back to the store within 48 hours of purchasing it having used it for no more than a couple of minutes to test it out. Instead of being accommodating and helpful, the same salesperson was rude and disrespectful. He told my mom the vacuum was not returnable due to COVID and showed her a 8 1/2x11 inch paper sign posted in a different area of the store than she had been in two days previous. He neglected to mention this restriction when he sold her the vacuum. My mom is now lassoed with an over-priced vacuum that she cannot use. In attempting to dispute this charge, the salesman provided an itemized bill for a different customer all together where he had hand written 'all sales final.' My mom was not given that same courtesy. She did not receive the itemized statement or the clarification regarding the sale. I would not recommend this store to anyone - and especially not to elderly customers who are trusting and in need of solid recommendations. Very poor service and complete lack of integrity. read more
