Referred by an extremely reliable source, I made my first appointment with Dr.Buxton's practice just over one year ago. Every interaction since has been smooth sailing (I actually look FORWARD to my visits!). *Kind front desk attendant/scheduler - always remembers my name and does her darnedest to find the right appointment for my finicky schedule. *Friendly and comfort-conscious dental hygienists (I usually see Leah - she's thorough and takes the time to explain exactly what's going on in and around those gums!). *And, of course, the calming doctor, himself. At my last visit I mentioned some discomfort that I was having with a crown applied years ago by another dentist. It hurt to bite/chew and I was worried something might be wrong under the dome, so he took a peek to check where my bite was coming together. Low and behold, the tooth needed to be filed down a little on one side - he fit me in directly after my hygiene appointment. I've been pain-free ever since! I have exclaimed my fondness of the practice many times and have told the good doctor that he simply may NEVER retire (nope, sorry, not allowed!). Do your smile a favor and make an appointment!!!!

I still go to him and make the relatively short trek down there (I live in N. Attleboro) for my appointments, because I've never been let down. He's gentle and does dental work that doesn't need to be redone later. Very friendly guy, as are his hygienists, as is his wife, Cindy, who's at the front desk. He takes the time to answer my questions. Morning is the time to go. The wait times shouldn't be bad if you go later in the day, but if you're there at or before 10am, you probably won't be waiting at all.

Not only to me, but, to my family members. Crowns break and need replacement sooner than they should. Crowns are misplaced resulting in decay, jaw misalignment and permanent injury. Teeth unnecessarily lost...and more serious deficiencies. --------Do not trust all the good Google reviews. The office (bad manager) solicits them with every visit through emails, so, people who have an acceptable experience, take the bait and leave 5 stars. However, looking at the long-term, this practice WILL harm and betray patients. -----------Owner Hikmat Hannawi's son and daughter are also dentists here. All in the family. They'll cover for each other's inadequacies and incompetency (as do his other long-term employees). In hindsight, my hygienist, Donna, who I trusted, also failed in many aspects of care that led to harmful results. Haidi, the employee who takes phone calls and works the front desk, is extremely rude, snarky,…read moreshort, and greedy. She constantly cuts me off and gives replies like "okay" and "bye." It is good dental practice to let patients know beforehand what the cost will be. However, Haidi does not give you any information beforehand and will try to overcharge you. You will not know that you are overcharged until your insurance claims come back; then, she will refuse to refund you. My total for root canal and crown was about $2400. I chose to get the root canal done, but not the crown, as I have warranty with my dentist back home. However, I had already paid a portion for the crown (root canal was about $300 total since it was covered by insurance, crown was about $2100 since it was not, I had paid $782 so far total). I asked for a refund for the crown because I cancelled my appointments and did not want it done here anymore. Haidi refused the refund, saying the doctor has already looked at my tooth and I "spent time in his chair." Haidi is constantly arguing with customers and putting them down. She makes them feel stupid for not understanding the insurance fully and asking questions about what they have to pay. She does not explain the pricing well, even though detailing the pricing/coding is literally her job. She also tries to get you to open a credit card and put your entire bill, including FUTURE costs, on there. I believe it is because she wants your entire bill to effectively go through the credit card company, instead of Great Woods Family Dentistry, so you would have no way to get the money you paid back. She wants to avoid situations like mine where the service was not rendered, but the customer wants a refund. I would stay away at all costs. Although Dr. Mistikawi is friendly and wants the best for you, dealing with Haidi in any shape, way, or form will make you want to pull your hair out.

But, what I didn't realize was that they book the X-ray Examination and the cleaning SEPARATE. I had to come in for 2 days! Since I was on winter break, it was not a big deal. However, if you are in the working world, it is not okay. I saw Dr. Vo. Dr. Vo's background is extremely impressive, especially considering she is so young! First impressions, I was not impressed. Everyone has an off day, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. The second time I came in, it was much better! She's not very talkative (which is fine, because I hate when they ask you questions and you got stuff all up in your mouth). I had my cleaning done that day, but was able to squeeze in a follow up appointment for a filling as well. For my first appointment, they gave me a water bottle as a welcoming gift. Pretty good marketing strategy, I'm impressed. I will be returning for my second cleaning of the year!

Had the tooth been properly evaluated before starting the procedure, this could have been avoided and my daughter would not have had to endure an unnecessary injection. After numbing her, the dentist repeatedly pulled at the tooth but was unable to remove it. My daughter is now in significant pain following the appointment. Watching her go through that experience was extremely upsetting. Based on what I witnessed, I have serious concerns about the judgment and care provided. I do not feel comfortable returning to this office, and I intend to explore my options, including speaking with a medical malpractice attorney.
