Located in the Methow Valley and about 20 miles away from Winthrop, Twisp is home to the BEST FRIED CHICKEN IN THE WORLD! Throw a couple chicken breasts in the cooler on a hot summer day, and enjoy it by the river. I've sat around with my friends, eating fried chicken in our bikinis. It really doesn't get any better than that. Oh, and Hank's is a pretty cool market. Great deli, taxidermy animals, and yes, they honestly do care... just not about my waistline.

I sat on the patio, and it looked sad. It felt like they were all tired from the season. The tables were dirty and a bit disgusting. I arrived right before a wave of people for dinner. It was Tuesday and I ordered three tacos on corn tortillas. The plate looked awesome. The black beans and rice were ok; nothing special. My three tacos came as requested, pulled pork, Fajita chicken and carne asada. It came with pico and a crème guac sauce. The corn tortillas were a bit odd and you really couldn't eat them as a taco because they just falling apart. So I ate the filling. The pulled port was the best. It was lean, moist and so flavorful. The carne asada was just strange. It was very small curled up balls of meet. Charred and has no flavor. I don't touch the chicken. It looked like it was a repacked frozen sliced strips. Not my jam. I had asked for some sour cream but never received it. O would not recommend this late in the season.

We ordered the combo Lone Star BBQ platter; smoked brisket and pork roast slices, pinto beans, slaw and a full order of their house Mac&Cheese. The meats were a generous portion, a warning, the M&C was huge and delicious. The meal was hot and served within 15 minutes. Although the pork was very good, the brisket was fantastic. Haven't had that good of smoked brisket since we were in Houston, TX last year. Turns out the owners, the husband is the chef, are from Texas. All their desserts; cakes, pies, danishes and cookies are made in-house. We shared a large slice of Cherry Pie, just excellent. We will definitely return and try the smoked ribs !

We also got juice (#7 is my fav!!!) it was carrot, orange and ginger and probably something else but so good and fresh, they make it all to order. They also make their spring rolls and dip for them freshly there and we had the veggie spring roll (they also have chicken) and it was crunchy and refreshing and the dip is like a paste-like texture so it isn't messy but it's so flipping delicious. If this place was near me I would have a problem going every single day. Ask for your juice over ice and they will serve it to you in a size larger.

The app doesn't allow customizing the ice in the iced drinks. So, every time I have to get the attention of the counter person and request "less ice." (Not a joke about the USA Gestapo. I asked for less ice in my already-ordered iced coffee. She smiled and made it happen. My faith in Tim Hortons has been restored!
