I've been a patient here for over 6 months. After getting engaged in 2018, I knew I wanted to address my crooked teeth before my wedding. Dr. Orbach and his staff suggested that I go with lingual braces (brackets behind the teeth) as they said this would be faster than invisalign. They were so right! I have already booked my removal appointment. The office is efficient and friendly. Orthodontia is an expensive investment and I feel Orbach Orthodontics understands this and they do whatever they can to make the experience as pleasant as possible. When I had a wire poking me or some other concern with my braces they always made sure to fit me into the schedule. As good as it's been, I am so excited to get these braces off! P.S. I came to this office last year with my friend for a consultation. While I was waiting, I overheard the orthodontist telling one of his workers that he was going to charge someone a lot of money because they were going to be difficult. I was shocked and told my friend that we should leave right then. How could we be sure he wasn't going to charge us a crazy price too just because he felt like it? My friend stayed and had a consultation but didn't ever go back because the feel of the office just wasn't right. The worst part is that now someone from the orthodontist office keeps calling my friend to ask if they're ready to get started with their treatment. They know no one is coming there, but they leave messages at least once a month. It's ridiculous. read more

As other reviewers have stated, I too had visited three orthodontists, but I do not have orthodontist insurance - so I really wanted to LIKE the Doctor I was going to work with. I knew right away when I met with Dr. Orbach that I found my orthodontist. I had braces as a kid and like most, didn't wear my retainer - so the front teeth moved and closed out my front bottom tooth. I needed invislign and since I was getting married this year I felt this was the time to fix it. Dr. Orbach met with me and explained all of my options. He is extremely professional, but down to earth and personable (which is not something I found in the other doctor's I visited.) When I explained when I was getting married he didn't think the timing would be a problem - citing approximately a year of wear. Within the first week of wearing invislign, Dr. Orbach called me to make sure everything was going well and to ask if I had any questions. It was so thoughtful and I really appreciated it. From then on I looked forward to going to the office, seeing his staff (Lauren is wonderful!) and getting my new trays. Fast forward 8 months and I am done! I wore my trays as much as humanly possible and it paid off! My teeth look incredible! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Orbach. So i usually don't take the time to write any yelp reviews, but i think there are some fake reviews on here, so i ll give a straight up review (pun intended) with the pros and the cons. Great staff! Everyone is very nice, friendly, and efficient. Being with you for 2+ years you almost fell like they are a second family. they all have a great sense of humor too. Love the assistance! Love the receptionists! Doc is very focused and dedicated. Definitely see he's passionate about his craft. He and the team did a great job. The only issue is in the new location parking is a big problem. The area is notorious for ticketing and hard to find parking right off the circle. Thankfully i finished up right around the time they moved so i didn't eat up that many tickets. read more

I had orthodontic treatment done 10 years ago. This summer, my permanent retainer felt like it was moving. I saw Dr. Orbach, who advised me to see if it changed at all in the next few months before replacing it. When I saw him again this week, he went through the pros/cons of replacing the broken portion. His staff is always extremely welcoming and willing to work around your questions or scheduling issues. Dr. Orbach is also available via email and always returns calls very promptly. His office, nicely lit and well decorated, is very conveniently located a few blocks from the Foggy Bottom metro. Great specialist and a very nice person. Loved the atmosphere in the office and the results of my treatment! I had my first appointment with dr. Orbach about 2 years ago. My girlfriend's dentist recommended him. I am a journalist and was covering the elections at the time, so was very excited about the Invisalign treatment he suggested. Finally there was a good solution for me - no wires, no speech impediment and I could take out the trays for important interviews or when on air. On a trip to D.C. I experienced some difficulty with my retainer. I was attending a training at GW, so Orbach Orthodontics was really close. I checked some online reviews and figured I'd give them a call. The level of customer service I received did not match the reviews written on this page by any means. I almost felt like they just didn't want me to come there. Very cold and unhelpful. I can't comment on the orthodontist himself, but I can't imagine he's that great given the way his office is run. It's possible that they were just having an off day, but I can't be sure and I wasn't about to risk it. I went to a different orthodontist and was very pleased. I wouldn't suggest anyone avoid this orthodontist, but it definitely wouldn't be my first choice. read more

Dr. Orbach is simply amazing!! Anytime an orthodontist can win over an 8 year old boy, you know as a parent you've found an outstanding dentist. My son's pediatric dentist explained that he had an anterior cross bite and would need braces sooner rather than the initial plan of having them placed later. We were referred to an Ortho practice that suggested a retainer over braces, a very expensive retainer might I add. I knew nothing about braces or retainers. I had done my homework, tons of research but still felt that I would just take take the "professionals" advice. He had come highly recommended by son's dentist of 3 years. Lo and behold I found out that someone I knew worked for an orthodontist, Dr. Orbach. I spoke with her in detail regarding my son's situation and she said she would relay the information to Dr. Orbach, just to get his opinion. Upon speaking to him he recommended that we come in. Why not, it couldn't hurt. It's just a second opinion. Little did I know it would be more than just a second opinion. Dr. Orbach was absolutely amazing. I mean where do I start. There's free parking for patients!! I mean where in the city can you find free parking?!?! Immediately SOLD! Upon entry into you his office, you're greeted with the friendliest smiles. His front desk staff is just fantastic!! The check-in process was so quick & efficient. The dental techs had my son in the back and in their chair within minutes of our arrival. They too were so great with explaining to him everything that would be taking place step by step so that he understood and felt comfortable. Dr. O explained that yes a retainer would be helpful but not practical for an 8 year old boy. Apparently retainers can be easily lost, that possibility even greater with a young & quite careless 8 year old child and then there would be additional fees for a replacement and it just wouldn't be the path he would recommend. Braces were much safer route to go. His explanation and consideration of our situation won me over. His plan just made more sense. We had an appointment the very next week. My son was nervous & slightly afraid that it would be painful. Honestly, I was too. Again DR. O & HIS AMAZING, AMAZING STAFF. They were awesome to him. They made him smile, took some pictures, let him choose his colors...he was super excited and no longer afraid and they were done in about 35 minutes!! He came home very excited with his bag of goodies (floss, wax, all of the braces essentials.) All of his follow-ups have been the same. Quick, easy, fun & most importantly painless. We had one minor hiccup with our flex-benefits and his financial coordinator was all over it. She immediately emailed the necessary additional documentation that had been requested and the issue was quickly resolved the same day. I will most definitely be recommending Dr. Orbach to anyone that may need an orthodontist. He is just awesome and I am truly ecstatic for the initial recommendation. He and his staff are top notch!! I was terribly disappointed in Dr. Orbach and question his integrity. While the treatment was initially good, I noticed that as the treatment progressed, he seemed to become increasingly driven by money. When I asked him about possibly starting orthodontic treatment for my son, he led me to believe that certain costs were not covered by insurance which would have increased the price of my son's treatment. As a result, I opted to have my son treated by another practice, despite the fact that I was being treated by Orbach because the other practice was transparent in their pricing. Additionally, I had to transfer to another orthodontist because I moved out of state. When I notified Dr. Orbach of my upcoming move, it seemed as though tried to rush my treatment so that I could extend my payments with him. My new orthodontist noticed damage to my gums (in X-rays) and opined that it could have been caused by rushed treatment (if you move teeth too quickly it can cause damage to the gums that could result in tooth loss). To top it off, Dr. Orbach continued to charge me long after I transferred from his practice and refused to refund the payments he charged after my transfer. As a result, I question his integrity. read more

I had a severe crossbite/rotated tooth that I assumed needed to be pulled and replaced with an implant, but my dentist recommended a consultation with Dr. Orbach. I went to see Dr. Orbach after being referred by my dentist here in DC. I haven't been to the orthodontist in about 7 years because I never had real problems after I had my braces off. I went to Dr. Orbach because my permanent retainer was broken and I wanted to see if it could be replaced. I also was interested in getting a retainer for my bottom teeth that had shifted since my wisdom teeth have come in. My initial appointment was super fast and everyone was super nice and very helpful. They fitted me for a top and bottom retainer, had impressions done and was back at the office in two days to pick up my retainers. The only issue is that insurance did not cover the cost of any of this so it was a hefty out of pocket price but worth it. The office is clean and had a very positive atmosphere, the staff was pleasant and helpful. I would recommend Dr. Orbach to anyone in the DC Metro area! read more

A few years ago my dentist in DC suggested braces to address shifting teeth and a mid-face deficiency. He referred me to Dr. Orbach where I started with braces in September of 2015. The braces are moving things in the right direction and Dr. Orbach referred me to the oral surgeon who will address my upper jaw. I will have Le Fort Type III Osteotomy. Both my dentist and the surgeon have said only positive things about Dr. Orbach and since they have been in practice in DC for many years I expect they could refer me to just about anyone they want. As professionals and having worked in DC for most of their careers I value their recommendations and opinions of other professionals in their field. Personally I don't know how my experience with Dr. Orbach could be better. The initial consultation was thorough and I understood my recommended treatment plan and schedule before I started with the braces. Getting the braces was as good as possible, I'm not a big fan of having work done in my mouth. The environment was comfortable and Dr. Orbach and his staff were friendly and patient. They were very efficient with the initial process. I'm always amazed at how Dr. Orbach just seems to have the right tool in his hands just at the right time. Since then my regular check-ups have consistently been very positive experiences. I appreciate the 7:00 a.m. appointments so I be in the office early. The folks at the front desk are friendly and welcoming. The tech's are consistently professional, gentle, and efficient. Dr. Orbach is very good and always gives me a status of the progress. The office recently relocated in DC and the new space is very well done. It is a pleasant and comfortable setting. I recently went to Orbach because he was convenient to my home. I needed a new retainer. I prefer the metal one to the plastic, and he quoted me $550 for the metal, and $300 for the plastic. I asked what I should do while my retainer was being made. He told me I could use the plastic retainer and it would only be $150. So I paid $350, $150 for the plastic, and a deposit of $200 for the metal. After two weeks, I returned for my fitting but after three tries, he could not make them comfortable and he told me there was nothing else he could do for me. He then told me to just use the plastic one and the price was now $350. So not only am I disappointed that he could not fit my retainer, but he changed the price on the plastic to keep what I had already paid. I feel lied to. read more

The office was nice, the staff very friendly and the doctor took time to explain the treatment plan and answer my questions. However we decided to get my 12 year old braces that did not involve extracting 4 teeth(!) - this practice was said to be an outdated practice with today's technology at two other ortho offices we went to. Also the office we decided on did not charge extra for ceramic brackets and was more affordable by $1600. Makes me glad I went to four ortho dentists looking for the right one... read more
