Updated Review - Hindsight Is 20/20: Buyer Beware…read more Looking back several years after completing treatment, I feel it's important to share my experience. My orthodontic results lasted only about 2-3 years after my braces were removed. After that, my teeth gradually shifted and gaps began to form, despite wearing my retainers exactly as instructed. When I returned to discuss the issue, I was disappointed that there were no meaningful solutions offered other than paying for additional treatment or purchasing new retainers. The retainers themselves were another frustration. I paid approximately $600 for each set, yet both broke much sooner than expected. When I contacted the office about a newly purchased retainer that appeared to be defective, I was told through the receptionist to see my local dentist instead. That response left me feeling dismissed, especially since the problem involved a retainer made by their office. Once my treatment was complete, I felt there was very little support when problems developed that were related to my orthodontic care. While the office staff was always willing to schedule appointments, my concerns ultimately weren't resolved, and I was left feeling that the only options presented involved spending more money. The office itself is attractive and offers plenty of extras, but I personally felt that those amenities were reflected in the overall cost of treatment rather than the long-term quality of care. In addition, parking is very limited and inconvenient, making appointments more difficult and expensive. Everyone's experience may be different, but mine was disappointing. I recommend researching your orthodontist carefully and considering not only the treatment process but also the level of long-term support you'll receive if problems arise after treatment. 2017 Initial Review: So excited I found VCO via google online. I had just moved and was in the middle of treatment for my existing braces, and she was one of very few who would take me in & continue my treatments. (Most orthodonists dont like to take on patients who already have braces) Her office is very clean, fun, eclectic and modern! Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of disappointing and end up with tears. She told me I need extraction of (6) teeth removal and recommended me surgery for the baby tooth and for canines for that which I paid 4,500$ at that time and the surgeon was also confused and asked me why she needed to remove the canines and I said I don't know I remember he called and asked her even if I don't know what she said to him he did the surgery and it was One of the most devastating aspects of my treatment unnecessary removal of both of my canines. I want to remind everyone i didn't ask any opinion from any other orthodontist or went anywhere before going to her which I regret everyday. During consultation she told me I will done my treatment in 2 years but it took her 4 years because their were big gaps and she was having hard time closing it I wore the brace 2years and then retainers 8month and that doesn't work too I go back to braces again for 1year ‍‍‍ it was really painful time for me. I was led to believe that this was the best course of action, only to later learn from another orthodontist that it was completely unnecessary. Instead of addressing my dental concerns properly--such as removing my wisdom teeth, which should have been the priority--the wrong teeth were extracted, leaving me with long-term consequences my face structure changed my jaw line is gone end up flat chin and so so many things. Even if I state my concern multiple times to Dr.Patrice with tears I was ignored and avoided. Throughout the process, it became clear that the orthodontist lacked the proper knowledge and expertise to handle my case. As a result, I have been left with a painful bite, an excessive gummy smile, and significant regret. Beyond the physical issues, I also felt misled--key aspects of my treatment were not fully explained, and I was not informed of the potential risks or alternative options. Had I been given accurate information, I would have made very different decisions about my teeth. Now, I am dealing with insecurities by my smile very discomfort and emotional distress, knowing that even if I will likely need corrective treatment elsewhere to fix my smile again the orthodontist I went after I done my treatment with her they told me they can't do nothing about it now because the damage is done already. I strongly advise anyone considering orthodontic care to do thorough research, seek multiple opinions, and ask detailed questions before committing to treatment here. After then, the practice became an unfriendly place that unrealistically promoted Invisalign for pre-teens, which requires them to wear them 23 hours a day. They are uncomfortable and nearly impossible for kids who go to school, eat lunch with friends, play sports with mouthguards, etc. they can also be painful. And ridiculously easy to lose. My children found the experience nearly impossible, and the new orthodontist spoke to my children unkindly - and always in an awful condescending tone. The practice also once "lost" a set of my daughter's Invisalign and blamed her. I'm still upset about this a few years later. We were just talking about this in my house, and I wanted to let others know. Two years of wearing Invisalign 23 hours a day is nearly impossible for kids. Children should be treated kindly. And we learned that the cost of everything at Bird is nearly double than those at other practices. We moved on to another lovely orthodontist who got the job done with humor, decades of experience, and kindness. And even though it meant we had to pay all over again, it was worth it.
