I had previously gotten my first two wisdom teeth removed over thirty years ago, and the experience was so horrible that I had put off getting the last two out this long. Dr. Yoshikane answered all of my questions and explained the plan and extra plans in the event the first plans weren't working for me after the removal. After the procedure I was under constant watch and care by Dr. Yoshikane through phone messages with my husband. He contacted us for the first three days even going as far as to check on me at midnight the first day of the surgery. Seriously! My husband was impressed with the level of concern and questions that Dr. Yoshikane asked him, because it truly showed he cared about his patient's wellbeing, and wasn't just jumping through a hoop. I just left my after care appointment and everything is going great! My surgical areas are closed, the medications are all working in tandem without residual pain from the surgery. My swelling is minimal, and I get my stitches out in two weeks. I can't thank Dr. Yoshikane and his team of professionals enough for making an anxiety ridden experience into a positive one. I didn't need a diagnosis, since I told the dentist that my implant was loose. He decided to take a ct scan, charge me for it and charge me for his false "diagnosis." $290 later.. he told me I need a New crown and wanted me to pay $2900 to return for 2 more visits to "fix" it. I Declined his outrageous treatment plan, knowing my implant was just loose. I waited until Monday with no problems and went to my dentist Dr. John Vartanian (Newport Beach) who did the implant for me. He tightened the screw and I was out of there in 10 minutes for free. I believe SoCal Smiles owes me $290 back for their unnecessary scan and incorrect diagnosis. They were trying to sell me something I didn't need and I'm quite upset about how this was handled when I brought it to their attention. I would go elsewhere and not trust this place with your time or money.

Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

I came in specifically because I was feeling unwell and suspected a blood sugar issue--especially since lab work from a different clinic the prior week showed a fasting glucose level high enough to indicate diabetes. Despite explaining this, the Physician Assistant (PA) dismissed my concerns, told me I "didn't fit the profile" for diabetes, and ordered a thyroid panel instead. Three days later, the support staff called to tell me they lost my blood sample and needed me to come back in. When I expressed frustration that they lost my sample for a test I didn't even ask for--while still refusing to run the metabolic panel I actually needed--the staff member literally hung up on me. I only returned the next day because it is within walking distance of my house and I was having the same feeling again, wanting to get to the bottom of what was happening. While the PA on duty that day was attentive, she ended up sending me to the ER for my blood pressure. After waiting four hours at the hospital, the ER doctor confirmed it wasn't an emergency at all. To top it all off, I received another call from the urgent care informing me that they did eventually run a metabolic panel, and my A1C and fasting glucose levels are, in fact, indicative of diabetes. Between the PA completely dismissing a patient's concerns, the staff losing blood samples, and being hung up on, the lack of professionalism and competence here is alarming. Go somewhere else.

Sergio helped with taking my vitals and noting my symptoms. He repeated my blood pressure test after the first one was pretty high. He encouraged me to relax in between and breathe deeply. Of course, the second reading was better. He was very professional and compassionate! I saw Dr. Victor Nekrasov, who did a thorough examination and discussed the symptoms I've been having. I felt that his questions were good, and I did not feel rushed at all during my time with him. He prescribed a few meds, and I was on my way. They confirmed which pharmacy I preferred, and I opted for CVS located across the street. I was encouraged to return to the clinic and/or follow up with my PCP if symptoms did not improve. It was a very good experience overall, and I would not hesitate to return or recommend this facility to others.

I am very grateful to Dr. Thiede for providing surgical dental care for my father. My father…read moresuffered a stroke and is permanently disabled, with significant mobility and communication limitations. Multiple dental offices were unable to treat him due to the need for medical clearance and hospital-based care. After several weeks of unsuccessful coordination, my father developed a fever and was admitted through the emergency department, where we met Dr. Thiede. Dr. Thiede evaluated my father in the hospital and proceeded with the removal of all infected teeth. My father was admitted on a Friday evening, seen by Dr. Thiede on Saturday morning, and the procedure was appropriately scheduled and completed on Sunday. Dr. Thiede was thorough, patient, and took the time to answer all questions, which was greatly appreciated given the complexity of my father's medical condition. The office and hospital staff were also professional, kind, and accommodating. During a follow-up visit, our wheelchair transport service canceled at the last minute, and my father had not been eating for several days post-discharge. Despite scheduling constraints, the staff accommodated his appointment without hesitation and without making us feel at fault. As a result of the care provided, my father is recovering well and has been able to resume eating. I am sincerely grateful to Dr. Thiede and his team for their professionalism, coordination of care, and compassionate approach in a medically complex case.

I asked if they could both be seen and they scheduled the appointment for 12:30. We were taken back pretty quickly, but after the dentist saw my first child, she left. By 2pm, my second child still hadn't been seen and we had been waiting that whole time for her to come back. My kids were getting more and more restless and we finally had to leave. I explained to the front office staff that we needed to leave and would reschedule. She said that the checkups have to be scheduled an hour apart, and that the dentist has an hour from the start of the appointment time to see us. That means my first kid could be seen at 12:30 but we could be waiting until 2:30 for my second kid to be seen. Unfortunately this means we won't be able to come back and will have to look for a practice that's more kid- friendly.
