Sam and his crew did a large master suite addition to our house along with a custom shower and bathroom. It was almost 400 sq ft. We even had a separate laundry hookup in our closet area, tankless water heater, skylights, and soffit ceiling added. Sam is extremely easy to work with, reliable and an all-around square guy. He is responsive and accessible. The work was for the most part solid all around with a few minor exceptions that were taken care of expeditiously and without alot of finger pointing. I'm not saying that everything went so perfectly smooth without any hiccups or frustration. I think alot of that was due to my inexperience in the process. After all, how often does one get a room addition done in their lifetime? I've been in the auto collision business owned and operated 3 shops. I can tell you that the work is not too dissimilar in terms of customer satisfaction. It's difficult because you are working on something of high value, necessary and close to the owner. It can be hard to satisfy a customer and deliver them a product and service that meets their expectations. Sam has a can do attitude and doesn't make excuses for what can't be done, he just takes care of it. We are very pleased with the room addition and it was a solid investment into our home. We contracted with Sam of Orange Innovation for the building of an 840 sq ft detached ADU in which we now live. The entire project took 3 times longer than projected due to supply chain delays, unforeseen permit requirements, and the "unprecedented" impact of Covid-19. The challenges seemed insurmountable at times, yet Sam was in communication with us every step of the way on conference calls, email, and text messages. Sam guided the design process and selection of amenities with a good eye for quality and ascetics. During the design process, Sam encouraged us to use the internet to find examples of what we might want to incorporate and worked with us to design our dream house. He directed us to excellent sources for windows, cabinetry, kitchen appliances, tile and counter tops. He patiently responded to our many questions. Sam is professional, honest, and trustworthy. We added a complete master suite to the back of our house (about 450 sq ft). I met with three contractors and hired Sam immediately after meeting him. He is very straightforward and there were no surprises. I was shocked by how FAST the work was completed. Sam gave us a 6 week timeline (once the permits and drawings were approved- this did take a long time though that was our cities fault, not his) and he was ON TIME for EVERY marker/milestone. I was expecting lots of delays and/or issues, just due to the nature of construction, but no. The crew showed up every day, the work went as planned and everything turned out exactly as we'd hoped. We had a few minor issues (a window wasn't where it was supposed to be, our flooring near the doorway was messed up by the subcontractor) however, Sam handled these things quickly and to our satisfaction- without any "pass the blame" type of talk. We had never done any type of construction and we were really happy with the way everything turned out. A few things we might change if we had to do it all over, but overall Orange Innovation was fantastic and we'd use them again in a heartbeat. read more

First of all to get all of this done in less than 90 days is in itself a major accomplishment, but is a testament to Sam and his team, great job. Same is very responsive, professional and highly organized. The quality of workmanship was exceptional and my neighbors have already commented on how well the design and finishes blended well into our neighborhood. The finished product all around is fantastic. While we ended up spending a big more than anticipated, it was well worth it. In the end we essentially have an entirely renovated home. After reviewing these complaints I decided not to go forward with the job and tried to get my money returned; arguments followed and I never did get my money returned; Do not give these people your money! My husband and I are adding on 657 square feet to our home. This includes pushing the entire back of the house out for a larger living area, adding a master bedroom, bathroom & walk in closet. We hired Sam with Orange Innovation due to a fantastic referral from my husband's brother & sister-in-law. They used Sam with Orange Innovation about 2 years ago and were extremely pleased with his service. I have hired contractors for work in my home before, so I am not new at this. I prepared myself for the nightmare story's you hear when hiring contractors of most kind. I stipulate this by saying not all contractors are the nightmare kind, however many are and I have experienced them. What I did not prepare myself for was the kind of contractor Sam with Orange Innovation is. First, I'll start with communication as this is so important and where most contractors fail. Sam will always pick up the phone, return a voice mail, he will text you back and return e-mails. He is so quick to respond it's unbelievable. I would give Sam an A+ for communication & response time. Sam is professional in regards to his quote proposals, request for payment and change orders when requested by my husband and myself. Sam's crew of workers keep things very clean and are always respectful. Many of my neighbors have commented on how clean the space is and how fast the construction seems to be going. We are absolutely amazed at how fast this project is going and how Sam with Orange Innovation has stuck to schedule. We have continued to give Sam more work, as we have become so comfortable with his approach, work ethic and timing to complete projects. We would give Sam an A+ for professionalism, cleanliness and finishing projects on time. We are still in the process of construction with our project about 80% complete as far as the work to be completed by Orange Innovation. As of today, the quality of work seems to be excellent and I look forward to writing another review once our project is 100% complete and I can testify everything works! He has a great crew that does framing, electrical, plumbing, foundation, insulation, and demolition. They are fast and responsible. Sam excels at multi tasking and is a very experienced builder himself. He knows all the in and outs about this business and shares his knowledge without hesitation. Two things that I find being the most helpful about Sam are his level of commitment in communication and being responsible for the quality of him and his crew's work. Our project was an approximately 650 sq. ft. addition that included a master suite and kitchen extension. The crew broke ground July 10 and finished with drywall and stucco September 21. From the first time I spoke with the general contractor Sam on the phone, I knew this was the company I wanted to go with. Sam was upfront about costs and potential "surprises". He arrived on time to every meeting we had and always returned calls and texts promptly, even at odd hours. All of his crews worked hard, were respectful of myself and my property and were prompt. I don't think Sam would settle for any less. Orange Innovation wasn't the lowest estimate we got, but it was comparable to most and less than some. More importantly, Sam was the only general contractor we talked to who was punctual, articulate, upfront and honest. He even went out of his way to help us deal with the city and get through some hurdles in the beginning. Hello I honestly can only highly recommend Sam and his team. He met every scheduled deadline and stuck to the budget. We went over budget but that was do to our additional requests that we're added to the scope of our contract. My husband and I were going to do all the finish work to save money but we had a family tragedy near the end of what was suppose to be Sam's scope of work. I rarely talked to Sam from that point forward and all I said to him was, "please do all the finish work and get it ready as soon as possible." We are now responsible for raising two more children and needed the additional space more than ever. Sam literally took over and had heating and A/C, flooring, painting, and a complete bathroom done to perfection in about 2 weeks, with little to no guidance from us. After meeting with numerous contractors for my room addition (330 sq ft) I choose Sam. He was direct, respectful, and seemed as straight up as I thought a contractor could be. As the process of an addition goes it has been a surprisingly pleasant experience! From day one every crew working on the project has been thorough, prompt, hard working, and kept the work site tidy and organized at the end of each day. Anytime I needed to contact Sam it was very easy by either text or email with prompt responses and solutions. As with any project unplanned situations arise but never were they ones without a workable solution that was handled quickly with the least amount of drama! My only regret is that I did not find Sam prior to getting the architectural plans completed (the worst part of my experience!)!! I can't believe I'm the first to review Orange Innovation. I added 500 sq ft to my home in Yorba Linda, and was absolutely delighted with Sam (the contractor/owner of Orange Innovation). This was an intimidating venture for us, so we researched many contractors and interviewed at least five at the house. Of all the 'contractor' talk and sales pitches, Sam did the least amount of talking and selling. The least. Instead, he carefully listened to what we wanted and then gave simple, straightforward answers. In the first phone call I had a quote. The first phone call. And that quote was absolutely the most competitive. We kept thinking it's going to change - that there has to be a catch. But there never was. We soon learned that we were dealing with a true man of honor and integrity. He once told me that his reputation and standing in the community is worth more to him than anything else, and he would never allow his customers to be unhappy. At this point we already signed a contract with another general contractor. But we had such a good feeling about Sam we continued talking with him. He gave us a large list of past customers, and we spoke to several of them - all were VERY happy so we proceeded to cancel the previous contract and go with Sam. During the permit approval process we ran into a city zoning issue with the additional room. Our hearts were broken, but Sam actually got the city to change their zoning rules for us. It took some effort, but he did it. Unbelievable. When permits finally came in, his work crew arrived and did their thing. They were respectful to our home, polite, and clean. They passed city inspections and were out in the time frame promised (in my case under two months). The quality of work was as good as it gets. Top-notch and completely professional. They worked a bit longer due to additional items we asked for such as recessed lighting throughout my house, new windows, and new doors. Sam and his team were fully committed to making us happy, and fully committed to saving us money every way possible, from low-cost material resources to reliable subcontractor services. In our first meeting he mentioned these things, and ultimately, that is exactly what he gave us. And overall it saved us a lot of money. He did not solicit me to write this - I wrote this review on my own accord because I am so thrilled with my new home and the man that made it possible. Sam is an excellent communicator in that he immediately answers all calls, texts, and emails. And when something went wrong (nobody is perfect, and in any large project there will be mistakes), he simply took care of it. "Will do" was his standard answer. No fuss. Again, this is an honorable man. Interview as many contractors as you want, but know this: Orange Innovation exceeded our expectations, and I will bank on Sam and his word any day. read more

Sam and his crew were awesome!!! We just added a 500 sqft master bedroom and bath addition, a very nice patio that is covered with roofing so it won't leak when raining, cement work to help with the water draining issue, and a dg driveway to get our rv on the side yard! Originally we were just planning on just doing the addition but with how fast Sam and his crew work we were able to squeeze in much more! He stayed well within our budget the whole time. We added about 6 more projects onto the original contract and every time Sam's price was such a great deal! It made it that much easier to just go straight though him. Any time I questioned anything he was either on site to answer it, a phone call away or a text message away. It was so nice to know that if I had any concerns he was there. I couldn't have asked for a better contractor! We also lived in our house with 2 small children and Sam made everything work around our schedule. There was only one point where we needed to be gone and that was to tie our two bathroom drain lines together. We were already planning on being out of town on vacation for something else so Sam used that time. In 3 days he was able to do the whole inside job of tearing down walls, building new walls, putting up drywall, tying drain lines together and I can go on and on! 3 days!!! Now that's amazing! It would take most contractors at least 2 weeks to pull off what he was able to do! I would recommend Sam and his crew to anyone! My home is so beautiful and my family loves it!
