Spoke to their rep about project, I had a couple quotes already between $600-800 so I already had an idea of what it should or could cost and they said they only take projects that are at least $5000 in scope and would do it for the $5000 minimum. You couldn't even know that work was done for the existing house that needed to be reconstructed. stucco, framing, roofing, and foundational work were all nicely done. We went with someone else 1: Because we went with the manufacturer of the doors to do the installation as they had to be built on site due to the custom sizing, which is just smart...money not a factor. 2: because aside from the (1) wood stain sample that we liked, the other samples were of poor quality (you could see right through the orange paint samples) and we suspected that might be a reflection of other work. Money had no bearing on any of this. We did not call you to "repair" any work. We called for NEW, i.e., work that hadn't yet been done, because we liked (1) of the wood stain samples that Eran had provided. We started the process of building our detached ADU at the beginning of 2022. We hired an Architect, who drew up a plan to build a 1200 sq ft, 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom house. After 14 months of waiting and addressing revisions required by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety we got our permit in "Ready to Issue" status. While waiting for city approval, we all started looking for a fair, reliable and honest contractor who would do good/solid construction. We started the process of interviewing contractors and getting bids for the job. After several meetings and several bids, we met Micky Kanian with "AGA Construction". We found Micky on Yelp. One of his references took us thru an ADU that Micky and team built for his elderly mother-in-law to live in. This family could not say enough good things about Micky and team. They took us thru the property and explained their experience in great detail. We saw another beautiful AGA project, a 5k sq ft + project that was in progress and really knew that day that we'd found our contractor. We weren't quite ready to pull the trigger for personal reasons, so we put the project on hold. Meanwhile, we continued to collect a couple of other bids that were already in progress. During this process, AGA kept in touch with us. They checked in every few weeks or so, without being pushy or intrusive. After a delay of about 9 months, we decided to move forward with AGA construction. No one is a tougher critic than me. I was dreading this project because of the amount of stress that I knew we'd be under. Both financially and mentally. We've all heard and/or lived thru the horror of a construction project gone wrong. I won't bury the lead any further. We love our ADU!!!!! We started the project on Jan 31st of 2024. We were told that the project would take 6-8 months. We lost the first 6 weeks or so with the heavy rains from last year, but even with that delay, we were mostly done with the project by the middle of August. We worked with AGA Construction on a partial home remodel (including kitchen, bathroom, and other areas). As first-time homebuyers, this was also our first renovation work! I made a call to AGA based on a friend's recommendation, and they quickly arranged for one of their project managers to meet me at the house and discuss our ideas. I'm so glad they sent Guy! From our first meeting, I had confidence that AGA could handle our projects (big and small). As the project manager, Guy helped us define the scope the project and was ALWAYS accessible and responsive. Guy was onsite most days and texted me photo updates to keep me informed. The electrician, plumber, tile specialist, paving/hardscaping, and other workers he brought in did an excellent job. They worked quickly and well, and always left the job site tidy. Guy at AGA is a master of managing the schedule--and the client! I really appreciate how well he communicated with me about decisions that needed to be made (and by when). If you've done remodels/renovations before, you know how many decisions and purchases there are to make, and it can get overwhelming. Having Guy as our PM meant that the work progressed very smoothly (and especially it meant that my indecision did not delay the work either). Finally, I always felt that Guy had our best interests in mind. When surprises popped up (as they tend to do when you open a wall!), Guy was great about presenting us options (and how much they would cost) so we could make a decision. The bulk of our initial project was done on a tight timeline, and the AGA team completed it on time for us to move in to our new house when our lease was up. We would caution anyone to be aware of Joshua and Mickey at this company. They over promised and under performed big time. Our yard was left a mess after they did the work and it cost us $2500 to have it cleaned up and put back together. The work is shoddy, at best. We have nail heads showing, cracked tiles and flooring that is loose and not installed correctly(after we had to fight with them to do the work we paid for on the flooring). They left nails all over our home and we have to have that stucco replaced in the near future. Grout is missing and loose in our bathroom. The electric in our shed was done incorrectly and we had to have it redone. Paint spots are missing all over the interior walls they were supposed to paint. It was just a poor effort by a shady group. They used to be "supreme remodeling" and had so many issues it appears they changed their name. Buyer beware! I kept all the e mails and receipts from this company, just in case they try dispute the poor performance. read more

Recently, I needed an electrician to replace a bathroom switch in our condo and contacted Eran from AGA to ask for a referral to one of their electricians. I used AGA Construction to remodel my guest bathroom, and would highly recommend them to others. I ended up going with them because they were the most punctual, professional, and organized throughout the consultation & estimate process, and I liked that they were a combined design-build firm, so the project manager would see the whole project through from start to finish. Plus, their estimate was in line with others, and they came highly recommended by a co-worker who'd recently worked with them. I'd intended to do the remodel in June ,2019 but then had to push the timeline to December 2019 which they were able to accommodate without an issue. Other things I appreciated were that: the team cleaned up the work area at the end of each day, so I never walked into a mess after work. As for the project outcome: the bathroom used to have a tiny (32x32") shower, ugly beige tile that was difficult to clean, and an even uglier glass block window. We needed our kitchen renovated and interviewed several contractor/construction companies and choose AGA Construction because they were licensed and bonded and we felt Ilan was honest and wanted to perform quality work. Another reason we chose AGA Construction was their willingness to pull the necessary permits for the job. Many of the contractors that we received quotes from strongly suggested we not pursue permits because it caused "unnecessary hassles". The last reason we choose AGA was because they created a 3-D visualization of what the new kitchen would look like. Before we committed to AGA, we met with Ilan's custom cabinet builder Ethan. Ethan created the visualization and worked with us to design the right kitchen layout. When we choose AGA the quote included everything but appliances, floor and backsplash tile and the sink/sink fixtures The job consisted of a total kitchen and laundry area renovation. We repositioned the stove and exhaust, the kitchen sink/plumbing, replacing the linoleum floor with tile, added a new window above the new sink location, installed custom cabinets, new laundry hookups, replaced our standard water heater with a tankless gas water heater, installed a glass tile backsplash, and installed a caesarstone countertop. They also ended up taking down the wall between the kitchen and the dining room and also created a new doorway opening the laundry area to the den in the next room. The original timeline for the project was 3 months, the project ended up taking 5 months because of permit approval delays, work additions we requested, and finally because the under cabinet outlets that we wanted needed to be ordered by the electricians, manufactured and shipped from out of state. On our job, AGA subcontracted the electrical, plumbing, cabinet manufacturing, and countertop fabrication/installation. The crew was respectful and cleaned up after themselves daily and locked up at the end of the day. Ilan stopped by every week to check on the progress. AGA even provided a porta potty for the workers to use on the job, which we appreciated. As with any construction job, nothing goes completely smoothly. There were some problems with the installation of the tile floor. We showed Ilan the problem areas and without hesitation, he called in another more experienced tile guy to fix our floor. He took the necessary steps to make sure that we were satisfied with the work and that the problems with the floor were fixed. Ilan had our best interests in mind and tried hard to save us money by giving his expert opinions and presenting all the available options of how to solve problems. The two reasons that the job went longer then estimated were inspector related problems that held up work that needed to be finished before Ilan could move on to other aspects of the job. And we had to wait for the custom under cabinet power strips to be manufactured and installed. Ilan at AGA is very focused on customer service and will go out of his way to make you happy. Ilan was always available through phone and text message whenever we had questions. Ilan always listened to our concerned and did everything in his power to fix whatever problem we had. He even gave us a lifetime warranty on the work and promised to come back and fix the backsplash grout that was beginning to crack a few weeks after installation. AGA Construction was a joy to work with from start to finish. We did a full kitchen remodel along with all new floors, paint, windows and doors through out the entire house. We also redid all of the stone work for around our fireplace, removed popcorn ceilings and redid all our electrical work/added lighting. Ron was professional and attentive the entire time. He gave us suggestions that would give us the most "bang for our buck" without trying to upsell or add unnecessary things to our project. When demolition first started, we were immediately impressed by how quickly and efficiently the team of workers moved. They not only were efficient, but very kind and courteous. We always trusted them alone in our home without worry. As with any renovation, there were a few hiccups with things like materials being backordered. Ariel's response is disappointing, but not a surprise. I know he has to say those things to save face, but the truth of the matter is that we were not treated well by AGA and any issues we brought up were not taken care of satisfactorily. He is right in saying we were happy at the end -- not because of the work AGA did - but the fact that the job was done and we were done having to work with May and team.
