I took a bike that I had purchased from this bike store last year for them to replace a bike inner tube and front and back brake adjustments , nothing out of the ordinary But was floored when the service guy to us to replace the bike inner tube was $100 and the tub e we purchased for $8.00 And the brake adjustments per brake were $25 each So if I would have had them do this service it would have been over $150 This is CRAZY I really like this store and the people are friendly but I hate it when I fell like I am getting ripped off NO MORE ORAGNE CYCLE I will do it myself or find a responsible bike shop Now i question the pricing on the bikes we have bought there Was I ripped off? read more

(08/2020) My first experience here wasn't so great. I came if after buying a bicycle off Craigslist and I paid for a full tune up. The guy that helped me gave me the worst customer experience ever; I asked him for details on what exactly their tune up package consists of and he rudely replied, "don't you know what you paid for?" He also randomly asked how much i paid for my bike and I told him $500. Then he said, "it's definitely not worth $500, you should resell it for maybe $200-300" Like okay, why would I do that? That doesn't make any sense. I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome there. He just rang me up, took my money and pointed in the direction of where my bike was. I didn't receive any adjustments to my fitting or any details of anything. I would NOT recommend spending your money here! There's other local bike shops that are happy to help you and educate you on your bike and it's definitely not here. read more

We are very happy to support our local bicycle shop. We first purchased our daughter's Specialized when she was around 3 years old and the man who helped us made sure her seat was set correctly and training wheels were positioned appropriately to provide good balance. The bike was a worthwhile investment as we were able to pass it down to our son and it has remained in great condition even through learning to ride without training wheels. This week we returned to upgrade our son to a 16in Haro for his 4th birthday and our 5.5yo daughter to a 20in Fuji. There is no sales pressure while reviewing inventory, as we came several times to look before purchasing, and the team was happy to help answer any questions presented on each occasion. The man who helped us with our most recent purchase adjusted the brake levers for both kids to make sure their fingers could reach them, seat heights, put the bell on the handle bars for us, and even came out to the parking lot once the sale was complete to see how the kids were liking their new bike set-ups before we left. We went to this location to find a new bike for my son since he had outgrown his old one. Right away we got unwelcome vibe from the staff. ALMOST everyone acts like they are doing you a favor and are annoyed if you ask too many questions. We told the first guy we were looking for a 20" bike and he said they only had $450 bikes in that size. He said they might have a cheaper one in the back. All of a sudden he told us he needed to check on something. He abruptly left and went inside to use the phone. He never ever came back or followed up with us. Finally, the only reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 was because of Ed. Ed noticed we were waiting for a while and offered to help us. He was very courteous and professional and we ended up finding a perfect and affordable option for my son. We told Ed we weren't planning on purchasing a bike that same day, but because he made us feel at ease we went ahead with the purchase. (Also, the first guy that "helped" us walked right past us as if we weren't even there) While waiting to pay for our bike I heard two employees openly and loudly complaining about the number of customers still waiting to be helped. "When will this stupid line end?" The cherry on top, however, was one of the mechanics began belittling another customer. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but I did hear the mechanic say "Do YOU know how to change a tire? Yeah, I didn't think so" Wow!! I've worked customer service before so I know the frustration of working with the public. I also acknowledge that because of COVID-19 there are measures in place that may make things a little more difficult to operate a business with less hours and smaller crew. With that said, however, it doesn't change the fact that those employees are being paid to be there. They are making a conscious choice to work and not live on the street. So why not be courteous to the customers who are helping you keep the lights on? Thank you Ed for stepping up to the challenge. Pretty bummed out about this place. I found this Cycle Shop online and it had the bike my 5 year old wanted. I saw you could reserve it online, which is what I did, with the cost due upon arrival. I saw the bike when we arrived at the shop and it had the sticker price at $189.99. I asked the gentleman to remove the training wheels on the bike, which he proceeded to take the bike to the back. When I went to pay, I was rung up at $249.99 which I then said the sale sticker on the bike said $189.99 as well as the online price was $189.99. He proceeded to tell me "oh, I'm just going off the cost on the bike manufacturer website" I said oh but you're having a sale on this bike which the cost is $189.99 so I'll buy it at your advertised price and what the tag said on the bike. I asked to see the bike which of course they took the price off, so I said where is the sticker you took off, the price was on the sticker you kept. He then let me know that someone must've mispriced the bike but he will do me a favor and give it to me for $189.99. Which I found quite rude that he felt he was doing ME a favor by selling me a product at their advertised price after trying to scam me. Shame on you especially when this bike is for a child!! read more

Bought a new Marin Fairfax bike from them right at the beginning of the Pandemic. Fast forward 7 months later and I was having some skipping issues with the drivetrain. I expected to have to leave my bike for at least a few days. Within minutes of me walking in, the tech had my bike up in the stand making some adjustments. I took it for a quick test ride and, while better than before, it was still slipping. With no hesitation or fuss, the tech then replaced my chain and cassette. His idea. Not mine. That definitely fixed the issue. I was in and out in 15 minutes. No charge whatsoever as the bike was still under warranty. This is the definition of service and professionalism. I brought my daughter in here to buy her first "real" bike. The selection is great! Lots of different bikes and styles to choose from. Once she narrowed down a style, it was all about the color. We saw a few they had, but it wasn't what she wanted. We told the gentleman that worked there what we were looking for and he smiled.."Hold on", he says "Let me see what we have in back." He comes out with this beautiful untouched white Electra 26 inch...it was exactly what she wanted. She found a basket she wanted but it was the last one and didn't have straps. Guess what...my daughter's new found friend went back into the back and found a sweet pair of straps to hold her new basket on. My daughter and I walked away so happy. I bought hope bottom bracket but outside diameter require 49mm (too wide) untypical size. I took it down to Orange cycle for assistance. They have many bottom bracket tools but unfortunately they also didn't have one that fit. Just when I lost hope, bike mechanic there used unconventional method (rubber strap wrench) to install it and it worked. I was so stoked. And also owner only charged me $5 vs typical min $20. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that needed bike serviced. read more

We bought my daughters Electra Townie bike here yesterday. The staff employee, JOE was really nice, helpful , and gave my daughter tips on her new bike. He was really informative and patient with us. Great service, staff and overall great experience. We bought a bike, basket to go with the bike and a bell. Only thing is they charge a "fee" to install the basket $20. I saw other fees customers paid to install certain things as well. I decided to skip out on the installation since my husband could do it. I figure if I spent over $600+ they could have installed the basket. Other than that, great experience. Didn't feel rushed to buy a bike. Came in 2 weeks ago and was helped by Joe looking for a new bike. He was very kind with his words, patient, and understanding of our background for getting into bikes. Adrian was a little too direct and was very impatient in trying times selling us a bike (there definitely was an attitude in his tone of voice). Came back a week ago after long thought to be helped by Juan and Kim. Juan took us up to the second floor and gave us a thorough run down for every type of bike. Kim gave us the test ride, and Armando fixed it up. Still needed some thought. Finally came back a couple of days ago to get a bike for a birthday gift, with John and Joe making sure we got the best deal possible. If I could give them zero stars I would. This wasn't even about the cycle business itself but instead about the rudest employee that I've ever come across. My friend recently had ankle surgery and also has other health issues that are not visible to the human eye. Part of the ankle surgery is that there is an inability to walk long distances and with his other medical condition some days he cannot park far from the destination. therefore he has a government issued handicap pass. We went to go park in orange cycle with our displayed handicap pass and was greeted by a rude employee who told us that we were not allowed to park there and that he didn't look handicapped. She said there is parking garage down the street and his disability wasn't valid enough to exercise his legal right to use his handicap pass. She was being extremely rude and disrespectful. Not to mention it's illegal as well to not only discriminate against people with disabilities but also to deny a valid handicap pass for a handicap parking spot. Orange Cycle, please find some compassion for people with disabilities especially those who may be a little bit less visible. Absolutely disgusted by the service and I would like others to be aware of their discriminatory policies. read more

Excellent customer service, bikes, and accessories!!!!! We took my 4 year old son in today to get his first "big boy" bike. Joe helped us out. He knew right away what size bike would be perfect for my son. My son is very tall, but has a very cautious attitude, so we didn't want anything too big. We ended up purchasing an awesome Haro bike he recommended. It's perfect!!!! We purchased a cool helmet (Joe helped us choose the right size) and some additional accessories. They put the accessories on the bike for us and pumped the tires with air. I love the "one stop shop" aspect. Everyone is super friendly. Just wanted to offer a "positive" yelp as I suspect people never forget to post a bad review for obvious reasons , but positive ones because it went well its easier to forget. I am not a avid bike rider, I am just trying to get some excercise as much as possible. Just had a simple flat rear tire. They took my bike in with a smile and answered my "novice" biker questions politely. Great experience overall, I had a 85.00 bill is all as well. I have been a customer of this shop for around 25 years, today that ended. We have bought our bike(s) (my wife and I) and our 2 kids (starting with their tricycles) from this shop. The kids have been through at least 3 bikes each since they transitioned out of tricycle's. In total, we have probably bought more than 10+ bikes there We bought a new mountain bike about a month ago for my son, a Specialized MTB for his transition into HS and to ride to practice (he needed a full-size frame). The date after buying it the derailer wrapped about the gear set and jammed, we took it in and they blamed his used of the bike for this happening- the mechanic "bent" (using no proper alinement tools) it back into place and sent us on our way. 2.5 weeks later, this happens again this time destroying the derailer. We took the bike in and the guy gives us every reason why its our fault, and the quote was about $70 to fix a bike we had paid $600+ for a month ago. I was not looking for a freebie, but i felt that they should cover the labor and i buy the parts, the "manager" did take the time to understand or listen just said "whatever" and went to help someone else..... i explain that this problem happened the day after we bough the bike, and his response was "well, we fixed it for free then" when there is likely a issue to how it was set up or the fact the guy before just bent it back into place with a mallet (not using or taking the 5 minutes needed to use a alignment tool to do it right) The manager advised that doing anything was over his head, but the owner would back in the shop Tuesday after 1pm, and we could take it with him after that. He then went on to tell me that he is not likely to fix our bike until after we talk to the owner because he was afraid I would pay for the repairs!!!! We then took the bike with us, as I wasn't going to leave it there. Some people recommended a shop called "the Path" in Tustin, we then took the bike there. Upon arrival at "The Path" the first thing the mechanic did was pull out and alignment tool and confirm the issues the other shop failed to do. Our quote from this shop to get it fixed is a whopping $36... Big difference in the treatment between the 2 shops, the average bike price at the path was $2500 and up, so i was worried when we went in. But i am happy that it appears that we have found a new place to buy bikes and get our repairs done. Sad day, I've shopped at the Orange shop for about 25 years, but it appears the people they have running it when the owner is away don't carry the tradition. It very likely I will never return and make sure this story gets out. read more

Joe and John took lots of time explaining the different bikes and all the options that we had (they have great inventory). We were able to take them on a test ride which was great!
