My wife reached out to the owner Chan back in Dec of 2023, a good EIGHT MONTHS before our arrival to newport beach for our 11 day vacation. We were clear in exactly where we were staying and submitted his online form numerous times in which he confirmed were recieved and that we were reserved. My wife and I both had conversations and texts with him to confirm all. About 2-3 weeks before our trip I called the office and Chan was out of town on vacation. The person who answered the phone said he would ask Chan about our reservation and get back to me. I called him every 2-3 days to check in and it was the same story that he needed to ask Chan and would get back to me. Finally a few days before our arrival, I called back again and got ahold of Chan. He said that the OC fair was going on and he needed to move some things around to get us our cart (that was promised 8 months ago). Once we got settled in our house in Newport Beach, I called Chan again and he told me that he had nothing to rent me because some people who were currently renting asked to extend their rental and he granted it. I told him that we have had this confirmation for 8 months and after getting flustered, he said "what are you going to do? Sue me? you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to go down to the OC Fair and grab a fu€*!N cart out of their hands and deliver it to you tomorrow morning!" I told him, sweet go get it, we had the booking first. I recently needed to change out my battery system for my Moke and decided on Orange County Monster Carts Inc (OCMC) to do the work. In an industry filled with questionable service providers, OCMC stands out for great service and great prices. I dealt primarily with Chan who was highly responsive to all of my questions. OCMC picked up my Moke at my house, transported it to their Orange County repair shop, changed out my lead/acid batteries with the lighter and more efficient lithium batteries (along with the needed lithium battery components) and returned my Moke later in that same afternoon. I bought a used cart from a private party and the batteries lasted only 5 months. Called Monster carts and they were out the next day with new batteries. Installed at a very reasonable price. Since then I have had to repair a charger. Fixed and returned, minimal fee. Been in a couple of other times looking to upgrade my cart and always welcome. My experience with OC Monster Carts was fantastic! I called and spoke with Chan after my golf cart would no longer start. He walked me through a few possible scenarios as to why it may not start, and once we ruled that those weren't the issues. he took my information down to send out his technician. Tony called me the next day and was able to come out very soon after. When he arrived I took him in the back to show him the golf cart and explain to him what my i thought my issue was. He did a quick diagnostic and found the problem and was able to fix it and help me remove the gold course speed restriction as well. What I appreciate, as a female who looks and sounds younger than I am, was the level of professionalism and kindness shown to me. He was confident he could fix my 20 year old cart, when others wouldn't touch it. I accepted the challenge. The cart was fixed and for the last two weeks, it has worked better than the last two years I have owned it. His service tech was great, did a few extra touches, beyond the physical repair necessary. 1) Wrong information - After repeated questioning and attempts to contact, Chan totally disappointed us. We ordered a golf cart to shuttle in-laws back and forth to their rental. The golf cart arrived - no license plate - "WHAT I ASKED?" Chan assured me we didn't need it".WRONG". The golf cart was expounded. What's worse, Chan tried to blame it on us saying it was empounded cause it was place on a red zone. NOPE - It wasn't . We did get a ticket for the cart in a red zone which it was NOT. THree police cars and it was GONE. They dont tow for parked in a red zone. Anyway, the golf cart is gone and so is our money. Worst customer experience ever !. Quality, Class, Responsive, Honest Own a Ford think. Told by Club Car/EZGO dealer in Palm Desert, who represented that they worked on the Ford Think, that bushings needed replacement and that the cost would be 000's. Given the age of the car (2002), would be throwing money away. Trade in value of $0. Best to purchase a new cart for $16,000. Somehow got connected with Chan Hunt, owner at OC Monster Carts in Costa Mesa. When I described the issue he didn't believe it was the bushings. Agreed to pick up cart at my home in Palm Desert and bring to his shop in Costa Mesa. Within just a few short hours, pinpointed the problem as a bearings issue. Maybe a $200 repair. In addition, he tweaked the Cluster and the turn signals which hadn't been working. He cleaned the connectors and now everything works fine. Chan said that if he owned the vehicle and was putting it for sale he would be asking $6,500+, a far cry from the $0 value the Palm Desert dealer offered. I very much respect anyone who is driven by the type of client centered focus Chan has demonstrated. I would certainly highly recommend him to anyone needing help with their Ford Think and plan to use him exclusively for any future work. read more
