We truly appreciate the golf cart rental while awaiting ours to be customized. There were some rough patches with the rims and steering wheel etc but this company is on top of things! Let's start with the positives. The golf cart that I purchased is great, well built and delivered exactly to the specs that I purchased. In addition, Chino (the owner) came back several times after delivery to fix a few things that weren't working on the cart. Now the negative. When purchasing the cart, I asked 2 different people how much it would be to register the golf cart with the DMV. Each time I was told around $600-700 in total. They let me know that they don't personally do the registrations and send it to another company to handle the task of getting it registered. I clarified that the fee that I was paying $671 included not only the DMV fee but also any additional fees that may incur. I was told that I may get a bill for an additional fee but it should be around $80. Well today, I get a charge for $1,461 to register the cart in addition to the $671 that I've already paid taking the registration fee to $2132. I responded to the fee essentially saying that it was absurd and they responded essentially saying that I was in the wrong for having a problem with the fee and that no one ever complains and how I'm the only complainer when merely I'm questioning how they could be so far off on the fees charged when they do this every day. In their response to me, they noted that I'm now paying the tax on the golf cart since they initially sold it to me with no tax which is kind of a bait and switch the way I see it. They supposedly gave me a better price (cash price) which included no tax only to have me pay it to the DMV upon registering the cart. So they pocket the cash and don't pay taxes and I'm stuck paying taxes on something I was told I didn't need to pay. Being in the relational (customer service business), it's important to own up to the mistakes you make. In this case, I'm being told I'm the one in the wrong instead of just saying they didn't do their job correctly. With all of that said, I wouldn't do business with them again even though the cart is exactly what I ordered. These companies are a dime a dozen and it's important to work with someone who appreciates you as a customer, does what they say and not one trying to pass the blame when they make a mistake. read more

My cart overheated on a recent hot day. A little unusual for an electric golf cart, but the Solenoid burnt out, leaving me stranded. An "emergency" call (who can be without their golf cart?) to Laguna Golf Carts, and the truck was there to rescue me. The cart had to go back to the shop. Chino dropped me and my gear off at the golf course, and before I was done my round, the cart was back at my garage. I strongly recommend Laguna Golf Cart, not only for service, but for purchases as well. I bought my cart there 2 years ago, and have never been disappointed in the very few calls I've made. We have a 2003 golf cart that we use to go down to the beach. The motor was so small, it kept breaking down. Chino installed a new and larger engine and lithium battery. It was far less expensive than buying new or used refurbished. It runs perfectly and is strong going uphill. Chino even detailed the cart before bringing it back to our home. If you have any intention of registering your golf cart, SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE. They will swear to you up and down that it will be street legal and ready to be registered but it's NOT TRUE. The way they build their carts cannot be registered because they don't provide a VIN # that the DMV will accept. They claimed the DMV would accept the registration but we learned the hard way that they don't and I'm sure they knew this all along. I know multiple customers who were told the same thing and they failed to register too. They kept our deposit even though they were the ones who didn't deliver what we agreed to in the first place. Bought our golf cart last October 2020. Brand new, But later found out the engine was a 2017. Originally promised the cart in September; however, didn't get it until November. But I understand because of Covid. Originally priced the cart through Joe, who gave me the invoice and we agreed on the price and I have my deposit. Upon delivery, I was charged an extra 1000. So after waiting 3 months for the cart which was finally being delivered, Chino the owner told me he couldn't accept that price and would take the cart back. Sure, I wanted the cart for my wife and kids so I was forced to pay an extra 1000, but that's terrible unethical business tactics. To top that off, Chino had to return back to install speakers that I paid for that they forgot to put on. Now the new speakers sound terrible. I have called him, but I keep getting the runaround. The cart looks amazing , minus some paint that puddled during their spray. Too much drama from this company. I would go to another dealer for a cart if I had to do it again. read more
